  • i love how you used the magic of dickspeed to combine like 5 different instruments together.

    1:07 - 1:13 sounded amazingly accurate

  • Um, so like, yea, my head just exploded....

  • if you had skills, you would conquer the world with mpc

  • "I seriously have no skills with this soundset..."

Then I have lost hope for mankind. This is beyond what I would be able to create, and I thought I had some skill...

  • I was a HUGE Yoshi fan when I was a kid, so this is one of those tunes I actually recognize. You've hit the nail on the head here. I like your instrument combinations, you've got a thumbs up from me.

  • no skills? are you nuts?! this was amazing!!!

  • WOW awesome job! 15/5

  • Ok, this is completely awesome, seriously. Kudos for this excellent creation.

  • Thanks, Slim :)

  • a difficult job, that you mastered very nice

  • this is amazing o.o if you have no "skill" i cant wait to see your songs that show skill lol

  • You "seriously have no skills with this soundset"? What are you on about, I loved it! :D

  • One thing I was wondering: How come you cut off notes with volume instead of using the Low A Glitch?

  • in recent compositions I often had the problem that I couldn't remember which notes were actual notes and which one where Low-A-Glitches. It often happened that I accidently deleted a Low-A-Glitch note. Then I had to remove every single note from that space, as a Low-A-Glitch can only be put on a free space.

I think it's way easier to see which notes provide and which ones cut off the sound if one uses the volume. That's why I started to use the volume as often as possible.

  • I see :P

  • Wow, Eso I don't know how you can say you have no skills with this soundfont. You created such interesting instrument combos that I think work very well and the song is composed quite well, complete with sweet articulation and volume control :-) I do want to point out that some notes aren't placed in the correct spots in the melody and a couple pitches sound off, but overall this is very impressive work where you indeed showed a variety of skills. Great job dude :-D 5/5 and faved

  • I believe you're talking about the pitch bends in File 3, right? Yeah, they are quite sloppy...

Dunno where else there's a wrong placed note. I don't sense any, but... well, I might be wrong.

  • File 4, i mean.

  • Nah, mainly there were some early notes in File 4 and there was an extra File 1 EM, but it's no big deal lol. The song is awesome, and I just love your use of the Mario heads :-D

  • I don't hear any early notes in file 4, but whatever... I might be wrong.

That extra file 1 EM was intentional because for some reason I liked it that way :)

Don't struggle about showing me any mistakes. I'm happy about every single advice I get :)

  • Ok :-P File 4 is just a bit off, that's all. Nothing big though :-) It's an awesome original soundfont work from you :-D

  • It works, interestingly.

  • It sounds fine to me. Good work as always.

  • I thought the description was sarcastic, actually...

    Nice job :D

  • Actually, the description isn't sarcastic...

  • Be careful with the game boys in the original sf. If you use them for background, it can drown out the other sounds, especially if you harmonize them like you did and if the other parts are in the lower octave. It wasn't a persistent issue, but something I just noticed every once in a while.

I liked this, though, and I'm looking forward to more.

  • In the beginning I thought about lowering the volume of the game boys. However, I wanted to give the background more importance, so I just left them at full volume.

I personally liked how it sounded, but as said, that's all about personal taste, I think. Thanks for commenting :)

  • It wasn't bad or empty, it's just that the instrument choices were a bit questionable. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

    5/5

  • I like it very much :-D

  • not bad but I never played Super Mario World 2 I played Super Mario World and I enjoyed the1st time I played it on the SNES and now To9day I got it on GBA

  • Actually, this is awesome. You don't not have skill with this SF.

  • While I slightly agree that the first use of fire flowers was quite suprising, it's your choice and it didn't make the whole piece any worse, and it's pretty damn awesome :D You certainly have skills with the soundfont.

    5/5

  • Yeah it's pretty good and I agree with Matmax.

And I think that the main melody started too late.

    5/5

  • I added an extra measure because I liked it that way

  • "I seriously have no skills with this soundset... "

This sounds actually really good to me^^

but i don't like the parts where you used the flowers.

Except that it sound really good, just one thing.

Maybe it sounds better, when adding at the parts where you used mario heads for lower cars, also cars. 5/5 + fav.

  • I think the flowers make those parts less empty. Cars alone sounded horrible in my opinion and I tried some different instrument combinations and flowers + cars was what I liked most.

That's all personal taste, I believe. Others may have prefered Piranha Plants or anything else...
