Great stuff! I've never been on karts this fast but i would a go! I would recommend to anybody not to waste money on cars for racing, because they are so much more expensive to run and you can get just a big a buzz if not more off karting!

Do you have neck braces? If you do how do you see? What is you gear ratio so that you don't blow your engine on the back stretch or do you only hold the throttle part way open?

@bassetthound2008 The laydown style enduro karts can't use a nekbrace. The situp position karts are required to use them. And yes the throttle is held wide open with a 3.6 - 4.0 range gear ratio. Results in about 16.5 k sustained rpm @ 135 - 140mph.

@jazzbo1974 The bus stop was in really bad shape before the repave and karts do not have suspension. Several accidents because of that is the reason the bus stop isn't used.

Some classes have shifters. We do not. Expense is only limited to how much money you've got.

how much do you have to let off and brake in the road course section?

Looking at data, we slow from about 132 mph down to 64 mph in about 800 ft. You get almost totally out of the gas and apply the brakes very very hard. The real wheels break loose when exiting the corner a bit.

WKA still runs duels?  That's why I want WKA to push for regions out here on the West Coast. IKF has sucked for the last 20 years...it's been run by shop owners and their suck-ups for so long, there is nothing creative allowed anymore, and they don't seem to listen to the majority of their racing body. WKA always has seemed stable. Just one more reason I want to move back to the mid-west!

Yes, there are alot of great drivers at daytona, you have to be very fast top end, the only thing is you really get spread out quickly.

Don is a great driver and was on an amazingly fast kart. No wonder he's won alot down there. He's beaten us alot and we've beaten him too. Thats why its Daytona, so you can race the best.

I've heard of go karts at Daytona, but I thought they stayed off the oval. I saw a photograph from these races and my mind was blown. This video just blew it again. Especially when they didn't take the motorcycle course or the backstraight chicane.
