I'll hazard a guess that if you can afford a mill like that, then you can afford a lathe to turn blanks to size... I can only imagine what time on a mill like that is worth.
@quadcatfly you ain't gonna turn it down and make all finishing passes in 20 mins man and heck CNC's are more for productivity not just making one thing i promise this CNC can kick your ass and make 5 of these to you making part of one man
@damion223 I build one of a kind aerospace injection molds on standard 3 axis and EDM machines and when they are done they cost more per pound than a Ferrari. This kind of high precision custom work takes a lot of time even with a great machine.
Awesome video!

Why would one choose to dislike this video? You have some sort of personal vendetta against milling machines?

I would be happy, at least, to be the one to clean the machine.
yo seria feliz, al menos, con ser el que limpia la maquina.

"I was considering robbing a bank....but now my sights are elsewhere!!"
Good thing about these machines is they're significantly harder to pinch than loot.
"im just a boring old 3 axis miller and this just blew my mind! thats some seriously cool kit there. i got to learn to do that! "
That's 'where the jobs are going' as people keep pointing out with regards to CNC stealing from manual machinists.

How much does one of these things go for?

Nice machine. Good as Hermle, but the price is better.

What CAM package would be used for creating the code for this component?
pbd1971 9 months ago
@pbd1971 I think it's OpenMind's hyperMILL. We use it as well, it's compareable easy to program with.
