  • ur like a hot girl who keeps saying shes ugly

  • @FunkMasterKRoc Does it make me more attractive? It's because there's so many amazing REAL artists out there. It's intimidating. I have a drawing disorder.

  • This was the most entertaining video on creating comics that I have had the pleasure of watching! It reminded me so much of how I do mine. Thank you so much for documenting your art.

  • @crazymonkeygirlhead Thanks. My hope was to help people make comics and to inspire a REAL artist to make a video dissecting their process.

  • @crazymonkeygirlhead Link me your art sometime. I'd like to see it.

  • @eddiechinglives Check your deviantart account. :)

  • 2.26 - life lesson - "you have to be a little bit smart, to be lazy"

  • Awww, man! That face was the best part of the page and you erased it!

  • @IngridElkner my thoughts exactly :(

  • @HamzaA001 I'm sorry guys. But for the sake of my marriage, I'm glad I changed it. Although it didn't get much better, sadly...

  • lol love the baby squeals

  • Lol, it's nice to know I'm not the only one when trying to draw out fancy words misses a letter!! XD

    REVEGE!!!

Lol, I don't know about you, but when I make that mistake I rage so fucking hard!! XD The missing letter is like the troll face that never leaves XD

  • what marker did you use when inking the lettering?

  • @justinedahino8 I read in DRAW magazine that the guy that does the zits comic strip uses Micron 05 pigma markers to letter, so that's what I used. They don't smear like other similar cheaper markers, and the microns aren't that expensive and can be found at Michaels stores.

  • do you also use image editing softwares or comics making programs to make comics??and which pens should i use to make these comics??AND ONE ANOTHER THING...REVEGE SOUNDS BETTER THAN REVENGE,....HAHAHA

  • @jayant747 I use paint shop pro to do my coloring and formatting for ka-blamDOTcom. The print on demand site that printed my comic for me. I am starting to get the hang of the free program GIMP. So check that one out. It could save you 80 bucks.

  • what type of pens and brushes do you recommend?

  • @MyLifeToons Any that you feel comfortable with. You can find what real professionals use, but I am currently experimenting with a number two pencil sharpened and bic ball point pens on cheap lined composition notebooks. Those cheap notebooks with the squiggly Rorschach lines in the front that you use in school. Look me up on deviantart to see the kind of art I can produce with the bare minimum of tools.

  • @eddiechinglives i also use ball point pens to ink and use also a sharpy pen and learning how to use a thin brush to ink my comics

  • This is wicked shit. You mentioned photshop, does that mean you uploda these online? Don't feel offended when i say "I'm not requesting a link to them", I was just wondering about your end point; where the comic goes to rest when you finish it.

Again, wicked shit. I also bet you raged hard with the Revege when you saw it.

  • hahah you sound so unprofecinal but your work is pretty good! lol brush pen thingy xD i like it btw :D

  • @joker9494949494 Thank you!

  • u r awesssome!

  • No, you are! Thanks for such a nice comment. I'm glad you are stoked.

  • best inking I ever seen!

  • Look up chad cole ink on youtube. He is beyond awesome!

  • REVEGE!

  • I dunno if its intentional or if anyone's already pointed it out... But in the video you clearly say "revenge" although it actually says "revege". Isnt there supposed to be an N in there?

Hehe, but otherwise great video! :)

  • You could submit it to publishers, but I used a print on demand (pod) service called ka-blamDOTcom Affordable and nice quality.

  • how do u publish it so it will be printed

  • I just wonder why you draw on a stack of papers? That would drive me buggy.

  • I just did that while I was going through my organized folder stage. Now I draw in a sketchbook, with a bleed sheet in between the clean page and next clean page.

  • he's fuuuunny and really helpful! I wouldn't have thought of the bristle board rectangle thing without this vid.!

  • That's ok. I stole the idea from the guy that does the Zits comicstrip. I read it in a Draw magazine article.

  • I really need you help just look at my comic that on my channel. Its funny but looks like poop

  • I like your style

no one will notice. Nice man!

  • Yeah. I prefer to get it done and let nothing like talent or perfectionism get in my way. Thanks.

  • lol

'that way I wont have to draw hair'

    lol classic !

  • LMFAO

"thats cause i dont want it bleeding on the table...I mean my wonderful art desk"

    hahahahaha

  • You rock man

  • Just trying to inspire and let people know they can make comics no matter what art level they 're at.

  • or spelling level

    lol

    jk

  • Sad but true. :)

  • your the bestcomic book writer and drawer nice im your number 1 fan

  • Thanks. I appreciate that.

  • NO, I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're right. Dammit!!!!!!!! Back to the drawing board.....mummble mummble mummgle......

  • you give yourself too much crap. you're awsome dude. great art. and yeah, amazing that you didn't notice the bad spelling... i just watch part two... funny captions man. HHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAH

    ha.

  • Thanks!

  • Wow, as a True letterer and Inker, this makes me cringe! use some inda ink if your going to attempt Ink at all.. there is something to be said about doing things right the first time, maybe someone would read it if their eyes didn't bleed when they looked at it.

  • I keep waiting for REAL professionals to make videos showing the RIGHT techniques, but nobody ever does. Too bad, people have to settle for my CRAP in until then. At least good inkers and letterers can critisize me instead of helping the comic world by making better videos of their own. Don't be constructive, be destructive. It's better on the ego in the short term.

  • A true letterer/inker? What defines that?

I'm looking at the video right now, and I see nothing wrong with it.

So, I have absolutely no idea what your problem is, brah.

Not all people HAVE to use professional materials to create good looking comics. Just remember that.

  • Thanks for sticking up for me. It's all good though. I know these videos are going to rub some pros the wrong way. I don't want to confuse people. This isn't the RIGHT way the pros do it, it's just a way that anyone can do it, and do it cheaply and lazily. I thought by putting CRAPPY TUTORIAL on them might help clear that up, but apparently it still pisses some people off. That's the internet for you.

  • Yeah, no problem man. Just keep up the great work!

  • It's an interesting argument, though, even if he/she is a bit rude. I'm going to the art store today to buy supplies for my first comic, and at this moment I don't know whether I should get a pen or a brush and some ink. Maybe I'll decide when I see the prices!

  • Yeah, just try everything and see what you like. I'm so backwards I'm even thinking about using papermate pens to ink my mini-comics. Don't take it from me though, find the tools that work for you. Most REAL artists use a 101 nib and a small brush. But I hate waiting for ink to dry. And it does get messy. I don't do it the right way, I do it the lazy way.

  • Yeah, I ended up getting markers after watching your video and seeing how nice they can look. Apologies to lotaco, but I think it's gonna be fine. Thanks for the inspiration and tips, eddie!

  • you forgot to ink a bubble but you dont see that you forgot the N in revenge?

    WOW!

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awesome tutorial and you are not that bad at the art work.

    Its better than mine

  • are you babysitting Jack Jack? haha great tutorial, it helped a lot

  • don't beat yourself up about it though! Are these published comics? In my comic, "Sybling Wars" (not published yet though) the older sister (that would be me X3)had something mispelled, so in the next panel, the annoying little sister (my sister)incesively (sp?!)reminds her that her word bubble was wrong.

  • Not published, although I did get 10 made from a print on demand company. Sounds funny. Link me some of your work sometime.

  • are you going to get your revege on the letter "n"?

  • I should. I forget one letter, and I get to take crap for it forever. The illiterate leading the blind I guess.

  • yo man thanx for this vid its sooooooo helpful. guess what, i made my own sonic comic book and they said theyre thinking of publishing it. O M G! cant wait!!!!! but if ur thinking of making ur own sonic comics, u need permision from sega or else it will never be published

  • i don't even worry about that that r and im a organized person (boy)

  • this what i have problems with

  • REVEGE!!!

  • . . . You forgot an "N."

  • revege

  • ur sense of do it the lazy way or just move on i like maybe i should do that

  • Definately. You can't create good stuff unless you are already creating. This is a reason why many people can't produce stuff. They don't think it's good enough and quit. Well, the only way to get good is to keep creating. And I am a long way away from good, so I gotta keep on keeping on.

  • Amen to that, man. I think that there are a lot of really talented artists out there who never actually produce any work. It's a shame. Glad to see you're about getting it done. Keep striving.

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • You are a really good artist and this tutorial helped me a lot. But could you make a tutorial for color inking too.

  • REVEGE! lol, I think it's funnier without the N.

  • Thanks! You have a really good sense of humor. Thanks for the comments!

  • "smart to be lazy" love that line.

  • Because I don't have an editor and because I am a dumbass.

  • why is there no n on revenge?

  • I think I have the same brush pen. I got mine at Michael's. It kinda looks like a micron. Thanx 4 the tutorial, inkings my favourite stage.

  • hey, I liked this tutorial cause I'm lazy too, but motivated to make some comics!

  • "Put a mark on my Expensive ruler!!" lol XD

  • nice man. I'm workin on my own comic book ^_~ I don't even write words no more, I scan my pitures in and type them ^_~ I'm gonna make a book called Volcanogus. ^_^

  • I had same Idea!

Cause if I do the text on the paper, it may look freaky.

And Also add colors when you scan.

Looks better (Unless you're doing Black & White)

  • nice tutorial!

but: did you forget the N in "reveNge" ??

  • is that a chicken at the end? XD

    nice work!

  • That would be my audience, aka, my little baby.

  • yo buddy.. u spelled revenge wrong

  • I love this guy! His approach and laid backed attitude... Really entertaining!

  • i hold a pen or penil the same way i do! :D

  • "Don't want it to bleed on the table... er...

    Wonderful art desk."

    LOL

  • You're so right, work for hours at a single drawing, while your readers just read over it in seconds. Sometimes makes me wanna stop! But your work is gonna be read again and again by different people, that's the main attraction (I think).

  • REEEVVEEEGGEEE!!!!lol

  • "because no one's gonna notice that crap. No one's going to say oh thats some okay artwork except for that one R."

  • It's all good. If you look, I get that mispelling pointed out to me quite often. I've just decided to play along now.

  • dude wtf u spelled REVENGE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No way. Dang, I feel dumb now.

  • I love this, its awsome!!! XD

what kind of tools do you use exactly to do your comics?

  • spelled revenge wrong lol

  • I'm never gonna live that down. I'm sure my headstone will mention REVEGE in some way or another.

  • Revege??? What? You're rehabilitating some waste land?

  • my wife from school?

  • Thank You SO MUCH!!!! I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS SINCE LAST WEEK!!! THNX FOR UPLOADING!!!!!!!!!

  • You're pretty damn lucky that you can draw comics. I'm an artist myself and I can't draw comics for crap. By the way, if you buy Paper Mate felt pens you won't have any fumes to inhale; they're odorless

And off topic: your baby said "Da-da!" I thought that was cute! X3

  • lol still spelled revenge wrong xDDDDDD sorry that really bugged me xDDDD but thanks for the tutorial anyways :D ur kid's cute xDDD

  • I'm glad an artist that has talent way beyond mine can find some enjoyment from this. Thanks!

  • Awesome series of videos! I loves my comics! :-) -- Matt
