it is really pathetic how ron herrera as took the sanitation members back on our medical and approved a 5 cents per hour raise per hour to equal 90 cents in our pension at that rate we should be able to retire at the age of 150 and that will give us and our families about 300 a month to live on. for the past 7 years ron herrera has been promising the santiation worker to merger all the members to a master contract which he has never done.
Lets ask the real question, why at "one time" did America had the highest standard of living in the world...Unions!...ever since the founding of this country it "was" a Protectionist market. Meaning domestic product was priority over foreign hence more money for the unions because they needed domestic labor!! As a employer, the Teamsters are our biggest problem. I work with and have good relations with the Laborers, cement masons and the operators. The teamsters are all me, me, me. When a teamster retires or quits, we do not rehire teamsters. We sub out our trucking.
This is not the 30's asshole. We pay dues to have security on a legal level. You I'm sure don't have any security with the exception of an empty promise from an underpaying employer who has his own self-interests to look out for. By the way, WE don't pay rent on our trucks, maybe you and your SCAB employer pay rent to use their truck but not us.
