  • the chair & ace wasn't even necessary. piper was kicking hulahemmoriod's ass the whole match. hahaha.

  • postalmeter is the man!!!!!!!!!!!

  • actually, i don't mind mr. bollea that much, as piper put it, hogan could "carry the ball". i think hulk was at his best in japan as a heel...& i obviously know hiro matsuda, broke hulks ankle on purpose during their first session, if i know judo gene, i know hiro... introduced luger down in florida. as far as the wwf goes, i was watching when garea & martel were tag champs, hogan had nothing to do with that far superior era. not trying to top you, but these are facts as well.

  • Roddy Piper likes to brag that Hulk Hogan never beat him. He conveniently always leaves out the part that Cowboy Bob Orton always interfered in those matches causing Piper to be disqualified before Hulk Hogan could legitimately beat him. Yeah, that's NOT REALLY something to brag about Piper. A disqualification victory for Hogan is still a victory isn't it?

  • @GiantPantherTX ya... ok, there, smarty..... piper=legit street kid, legit boxer, legit amateur wrestler, legit black belt (guess who trained him? some guy named bruce...), legit submission specialist trained by judo gene lebell....hogan=no amateur wrestling background, no nothing except charisma & muscles... all his best matches were in japan. everything i've just written is pure fact, deal with it.

  • @jdbankshot Yeah well you know who trained Hulk Hogan? Some guy named Hiro Matsuda who also knew judo AND amateur wrestling and also trained Paul Orndorff, Ron Simmons, The Great Muta & Steve Keirn (the current WWE head trainer). Ever heard of the World Wrestling Federation? Ever heard of Wrestlemania? Yeah Hulk Hogan built all that with his blood and sweat and doesn't get nearly enough credit for it from Hogan-bashing dickholes like you. Deal with those pure facts and try topping that.

  • @GiantPantherTX (cont) i'm sure you know where hogan was from 81-84, apart from japan..... the awa. matsuda trained him, but verne cultivated him & the eventual image that hulk chose, the sam image vince ran with. in 82', for example, while hogan was battling bockwinkle, the wwf had backlund, fuji & saito, the samoans, rocky johnson, andre, the list goes on... a couple guys named bruno & vincent sr. & jr. had alot to do with it.... jr had a vision & plan, great. just too showbiz-y for me.

  • It's funny, Piper was sometimes a little sloppy in the ring but his personality was so over the top that he would get you emotionally invested in the match before he even stepped into the ring. That was his genius. You either really loved him or really hated him. Growing up a wwf fan I did a little of both lol.

  • The ol' thumb to the eye = The Great Equalizer. No one delivered it better than the Hot Rod.

  • What was wrestling thinking not giving this guy the world title at least at one point in his career?

  • Piper is so good as heel. Ref takes a bump, immediately exit ring and grab chair.

  • I think everybody knows it is fake... i watched a few, and it is so obvious, all the time they look out not to really hurt each other, they wait for the other to make their next shot, they "bravely" turn their back on each other, they fall to previously agreed points on the ground.

The only question here is... what is all this good for if it is all acting? Knowing this just so spoils the stuff for me real hard. It's maybe gayer than the other kind of wrestling.

  • @AMYuntold "fake" is completely the wrong term, as is "phony". you don't go see shakespeare in the park & call it fake, do you? if you go to the movies, is it fake? no, it's a REAL movie... or real MOVIE, just like a play. pro wrestling is the most physical, most athletic, most violent & most dangerous form of THEATRE!!! if you need to have that explained to you, you're pathetic, but that's already obvious from your "gayer" comment. gayer is not a word, & amateur wrestling is far from sexual.

  • Are people blind? its fucking fake

  • Hogan might have been the face of the WWF, but it was the supporting cast like Piper and others who made the WWF what it is IMO.

  • You gotta admit these two guys were the best pals of all time, you can tell by the great way they work together. Even the name "Roddy Piper" was invented by Hulk for him.

Same with Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler, it looked good because they were so tight; if you don't trust someone then you can't work together.

When wrestlers don't get along so well, you can tell because the action sucks.

  • @postalmeter Hulk didn't name him Roddy Piper. Piper was wrestling under that name well before Hogan enetered wrestling. Piper was a star on the West Coast when Hogan was breaking in. Hogan frequently tells outrageous lies like that, thinking his fans are too stupid to know better.

And I disagree that you have to get along to have great matches. often, real grudges translate to great matches. Buzz Sawyer's feuds with Tommy Rich and Hacksaw Duggan come to mind.

  • For all you Denver Rowdy Roddy Piper fans, Roddy will be performing at Comedy Works downtown April 14-16, 2011!

  • This must have been very close to when they debuted that particular title belt that they are playing tug of war with at the start...if not the actual debut of that belt.

  • who were u rooting for then? I never liked the hulk so I wanted roddy to win.

  • @MsL0vie i was rooting Wendi Ritcher..

  • @MsL0vie

It's ridiculous, Hogan NEVER gets choked out; he fights his way out of it at the last second EVERY FRICKING TIME, and they always act like it's some big surprise.

Oh, IT'S AMAZING! HE BEAT THE SLEEPER!

Yeah, for the millionth fucking time.

  • @postalmeter -then does the think with his ear, the crowd goes wild. yeah yeah yeah....lol

  • @postalmeter -then does the thing with his ear, the crowd goes wild. yeah yeah yeah....lol

  • @MsL0vie

No doubt, Hulkamania sucked ass; it was the start where Vince started sucking Satan's cock. Every match ended with Hogan just getting beat up-- then gettng pissed off, and winning. Hours of fun for the whole inbread family.

The only thing worse than Hulk Hogan was Shawn Michaels... at least Hulk looked, wrestled and talked like a MALE.

A male WHAT, I don't know... but at least he was that. And the only thing suckier than Hogan's dumb leg-drop was Shawn's dainty little girly-kick.

  • wow wow nice one

  • OmG... how people didnt came up with idea its all fake?! stupid nations :)

  • @wjk69 huh?????

  • hulk hogan

    ultimate warrior

    superfly snuka

    under taker

    Roddy Piper

  • if you skip right to 6:08..."big poop right underneath the chair"

  • hulks the greatest of alltime

  • @HogansDisciple duh!!!

  • At 8:29 a guy flicks off the camera. I'm surprised they didn't edit that out.

  • lmao check out 3:05 seconds looks like hulk is pumping rod up the butt lmmfao

  • I'm reminded of Pipers words to McMahon during their in-ring conversation a couple years ago: You did do something in the ring that I never did. I never got pinned by Hulk Hogan!"

  • It's become a STREET FIGHT! Doesn't it always?

  • @arielgirl Certainly when Piper was involved, especially in his prime.

  • Hulk Hogan raped me

  • Anyone know what arena this is?

  • Classic good vs evil storyline back in the mid 80's. Hogan vs Piper was like Superman vs Lex Luther, or G.I. Joe vs Cobra.

  • Hogan was Batman and Roddy was the Joker.

    Epic confrontation!

  • I luv these old classic matches!

  • HotRod had some major heat around this time.

  • @berati15 your a fucking FFFFAGOT

  • Comment removed

  • @berati15 nice grammer MORON

you'd be out after one clothesline

    "MORON".

  • Comment removed

  • @berati15 haha i agree with whats his face some what but i do consider it a sport as every one really should, like it or not. they will actually sometimes have a match where it isnt fixed too, and 95 percent of the moves really do hurt.

and ya, i would work on getting that education..

  • Comment removed

  • @berati15 yep

  • @berati15 lol, it's not a sport you knucklehead. It's entertainment, the same way movies and sitcoms are. You still watch movies and television?? Don't you?? It's real people entertaining an audience!!! Now get a life, and an education!!!

  • @timsubs dickhead!!!!!

  • Wrestlevision...

  • wan war das

  • Hulk Hogan YES

  • piper was one of the greatest heels of all time. jesse play by play is priceless. need him to come back and call some matches.

  • WrestleVison (1985) also on coliseum video. The 1st. Annual Wrestling classic. It took place in the Rosemont Horizon the same place WrestleMania 2 on april 7th. 1986.(the battle royal) on this 16-man elimination tournament the Macho man should of won it !! not the JUNK YARD DOG,dont get me wrong the junk yard dog is great but the MACHO MAN is better....

  • "Wow, he never saw it coming"! Brilliant!

  • dog was too big of a FACE at this time, monster FACE to loose

  • HoosierLine...this match was from The 1st Annual (and only) Wrestling Classic from the Rosemont Horizon (now the Allstate Arena) in Rosemont, Illinois. This was the only match that was not part of the 16-man elimination tournament.

  • i used to have the "wrestling classic" recorded on beta max .... lol .. who won that .. one of the british bulldogs right?

  • @dedflesh The British Bulldogs were not a team as part of the Wrestling Classic. Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith competed seperately in the tournament.

  • @dedflesh me too betamax the good ole days

  • Was this from WWF All Stars of Wrestling program? Gotta love Jesse The Body Ventura doing play by play "I call'em like I see'm" or "It doesn't matter whether you win or lose as long as you always cheat".

  • Gorilla does play by play, Jesse does Color

  • If they were both in their primes today this for sure would be the main event at WrestleMania.

  • Vince wouldve been a trillionare other than a billionare if he wouldve built up this fued more. No other 2 wrestlers could put on a show than these guys!!!!!

  • i agrew, PIPER/HOGAN fued didnt last, could've been equal to rock/austin

but pipers hips were in rough shape, so he couldnt carry on

  • never knew pipers hips were bad , is this why he retired at periods of time etc

  • 3 hip replacements bad knees, cocaine addictions,,,,WM1, should have been hogan vs piper one on one

but vince i guess felt bringing in movie stars at time MR T, etc was better to drag more media into it

remember starrcade was first for WCW/NWA that was there wrestlemania vince came after

  • he did take a chance with that stuff..some big names left of wm 1 as well..cocaine was bad for jyd, hogan, piper, snuka etc etc etc

  • @Gio7426 Mr T's involvement and the MTV tie ins were HUGE for Wrestlemania I. But I think a Hogan-Piper one on one at Wrestlemania II would have been great. Piper refused to job, so why not have the cage match with Piper instead of Bundy, whom Hogan had already defeated several times. Maybe Piper would have refused to lose that way too, but he wouldn't have had to be pinned.

  • they had few hogan/piper one on one on saturday night's main event,, but both ended in DQ, knowone got pinned in either match

PIPER hates HOGAN badly for hoggin spotlight

  • Comment removed

  • the 80's you had good characters heel was always a heel. piper turned face, after his kid was born, and first hip replacement, been face since

vince use to fine wrestlers still does if they smoke in change rooms he is against smokers

hogan/piper feud could've been bigger than rock/austin or at least even

  • yah it was a great fued

another great fued was JYD vs FUnk..man they had battles

steamboat vs muraco was a great one as well. thats what is not the same...long lasting bad guy vs good guy...and of course internet change the world LOL

  • yes yes, JYD/FUNK branded on saturday nights main event

steamboat/savage with elizabeth/george animal steel feud was good

anything with bobby heenan, slick remarks

  • do u have any other JYD posts from WWF other than whats on you tube...dam he got the crowd into in the day

  • i havent looked for JYD,, too busy watching classic matches...wcw/nwo days, and old wwf feuds

i am sure there is JYD ,,,heck look at all the santino morella footage lol...he went to same elementary school as i did . just 9 years later

  • the hogan/piper feud made the wwf as big as it got

  • 3:05-3:13 hahahahah lmfao!!!!!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the referees reaction as well!

  • Gorilla and Jesse, I could listen to them announce all day long.

By far the best announcing duo ever.

  • that was awesome watching Piper hit Hogan with the chair. Hit em Ace LOL

  • Hahaha the way he fell straight down was awesome

  • Strange that Hogan seems not that taller from Piper. I always viewed him as a giant.

  • that is cause the wwe made you believe that he was 6'8" while he was 6'5" the most.

  • Hogan does look like a giant next to Piper. At least I think so. In overall size...

  • If Piper were unwilling to be pinned, they should have ended the feud in a cage match and had Hogan escape from the cage. A DQ finale just isn't satisfying for such a grand feud.

  • I always wondered why Hogan never actually beat Piper in 1985.

  • fake =d, but for fun or for kid ,nice =d

  • For kids? Have you ever been to a wrestling show? You see people of all ages. I've seen kids, older people, and people my age (20s). There is a diverse audience.

  • the best wrestling commentators of all time...the duo of Gorilla Monsoon and Governor Ventura...hehe...and better yet Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan...this was wrestling at its best...love the old days...

  • @wccrko LOL,I never liked wrestling growing up,but all my buddies watched it so I had to sometimes. The one thing i'll admit is I really liked Roddy piper, and hulk hogan. That movie Piper did,THEY,or Them by john carpenter was really good.Ya these two were always fun to watch.

  • @jays2474 The movie was titled They Live.

  • @wccrko

yeah, I couldn't stand Vince's announcing, he'd always just scream his fucking head off like a moron and act like two fat slobs slow-dancing was a Clash of the Titans. Whenever Vince announced I'd have to turn of the sound.

  • @wccrko if you call this the old days, i feel sorry for you... in a nice way. ever heard of lou thesz?

  • this is a street fight,in spandex?

  • I love Jessie's comentary on WWF

  • This had to be after WM 1, around April/85

  • This was at the Wrestling Classic, the WWF's first PPV. I believe it was November 1985.

  • Where's the red and yellow trunks, brother?!

  • They should of gave piper the belt even if only for a few months..would of rild up the fans and made things interesting!

  • i personaly like the 80's and 90's wrestling, thats when all the good people where in it like Hogan and Andre and King Kong Bundy and Nikolia and Stone Cold Steve andJim Duggan and Big John Studd and the Ultimate worrior and all those good people.those were the real wrestling days.

  • Hulk hogan had a lot of charisma and was a great entertainer, that's why he's a legend but he was not a good in-ring performer,

  • Wrestling was pretty different back then. It wasn't the fancy moves that made it lovable, it was the charisma a character brings and great personalities like Hogan revolutionized the business into what you see it today.

  • @wtfalan

That was called the "Altitude Era," i.e. the high-flying Mexican-wrestling shit that basically just turned the ring into a fucking pinball-machine....PING PONG, BINGBONG! with the wrestlers bouncing around like a racketball-court.

Bret Hart was right about Shawn Micheals being just another Mexican-style wrestler, rather than having any real wrestling expertise or ability. The Stupid-kick is proof, it's not even a hold or wrestling-move, it's a fucking KICK!

  • @wtfalan

Oh please, they had GREAT moves-- the suplexes and one-arm drags and non-stop beatings everything else were all INFINITELY better than the stupid Shawn Michels high-flying Mexican shit which made every match look like a game of ping-pong.

  • it's called Charisma, you have that, you have pretty much everything.

  • Look at Hogan's matches from Japan. Totally different guy. Especially his match against the Great Muta.

  • Yes, i agree wth you Xpander! U can actually se Hogan wrestle or try to wrestle.

  • good point snail either way it looks suspicious

  • Seriously. The ring bell sounds like a train is coming.

  • Nice job by hogan covering his mistake at 6:43 with the early grab of the chair

  • what was the mistake?

  • at 6:43 hogan puts his hands up too soon before piper is ready to drop the chair.Just one of those little mistakes that shows how scripted it can be

  • it looked like he wasn't telegraphing it, but was telling Piper where to hit him with it, so he could block it.

  • o ya good point

  • Monsoon was so biased toward Hogan its sickening.

  • Hogan was actually a pretty good wrestler when he was back in his physical prime

  • im just sayying

    ''Hogan Begins''

    Hes my idol!

  • Roddy Piper was an excellent wrestler in 80s and 90s. He deserves a last opportunity for a World Championship.

Imagine Piper vs Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship.

  • Sorry I'd rather not.

  • Roddy Piper was my favorite wrestler in the 80's

  • [70's], 80's, 90's, 00's, etc. etc.

Look up some of his older stuff, too - in NWA, Mid-Atlantic, Georgia, Mid-South, San Francisco, Portland, etc. He's always been awesome.

  • Piper Forever!

  • Hotrod

  • long live roddy piper

  • Is that Rodney the Piper?

  • one of the terms i never understand ,'intestinal fortitude'

  • It means he has guts.

  • i know but i mean why dont they jus say 'he has guts' i never heard that term in any other profession

  • Maybe it's pseudo eloquence...I'm not sure. I didn't even know they used it back in the day until I saw this. I'm showing my years here (as if my profile wasn't enough), but the first time I heard it was when Mick Foley started using it in the late 90s.

  • I realized how old this was when they started playing "Eye of the Tiger" at the end.

  • loved it! Those were the good ole days.

  • what a classic fued! Classic good guy vs bad guy wrestling!

  • So why again was Hogan such a great face?

Oh yeah...because Piper was an even better heel.

    Old school 4 LIFE.

  • back when wrestling was good!

  • did he even touch hulk on 1:05???

  • Lol. What happened to Hulk Hogan at that time?

  • looked like an eye rake, but i didnt see his finger move at all, ??

  • Yeah- Piper did his infamous eye-poke.

  • THIS IS OLD SCHOOL SO THIS IS THE BOMB

  • Roddy could take more repeated punishment than any other pro wrestler.

  • Piper is one of the best sellers out there of all time.

  • Piper was never crowned WWF Champ nor WCW World Heavyweight Champ. if only these titles were on the line when Hogan was champ.

  • HULK RULES!!!!!!!!!!

  • wrestling back in the 80's was like a cartoon, wrestling today is like a jerry springer show on steriods..I prefer the 80's version myself..lol

  • Isn't the sleeper hold basically a choke hold? I guess we're not supposed to "realize" that. ;)

  • A good solid bout this was.

  • Piper is the best because he scared Flair and Hogan! LOL

  • roddy is not edge

  • Ric Flair is the BEST!!!!

  • Hogan the best

  • Hogan NEVER pinned Piper

  • Actually, Hogan pinned Piper in WCW at Superbrawl 1997. I believe he pinned Piper in the WWE as Mr. America as well. But yes Hogan never pinned Piper in the '80's WWF, if that's what you meant.

  • Hulk is best!!

  • This is from the Wrestling Classic?

  • piper is the best legend!

  • "Atomic Drop. No, Suplex!" Jessie "The Body" Ventura, and Gorilla Monsoon were the all-time best commentating team in wrestling. And Rowdy Roddy was such a crazy character. Man, I miss this golden era of the WWF. RIP, Gorilla.

  • Piper would have made a great champ.

  • 1.Hogan-The Rock and that's it Cena is a booed babyface he gets nowhere near them

    2.Piper-jericho

Triple H is nothing like Warrior,no intensity,no charisma, there is only 1 Ric Flair.Big show is not like Andre at all,Randy Savage is 1 too.Maybe Kennedy if we judge by the big mouth and different mic skills

  • right on

    hulk hogan = the rock

    randy savage = steve austin

    andre = big show

    piper = y2j

    ultimate warrior = triple h

  • hulk hogan = the rock =john cena

ric flair = triple H = randy orton

    piper = stone cold =

    andre = big show

  • John Cena is nowhere near the level of anyone on that list. He doesn't draw a dime, he just moves the most merchandise.

Flair is more akin to HHH, Warrior is more akin to Lesnar.

  • thats true cena ain't shit but he's a crowd fav like hogan and the rock

  • Sorta, part of the crowd boos him, part cheers.

  • no all people cheer for john cena

  • No they don't, if you have hearing or retardation problems, then no amount of obvious evidence will convince you of that.
