People (terrorist) who have taken human lives (or planned on taking human life) deserve to be tortured and extorted to obtain information. This is not a political issue, it's a human rights issue. When you kill someone (or planned on it in detail) you have given up your rights as a human being. We do not need to protect such people. This is not the death penalty. Trying to get some info out of folks with torture is pretty tame compared to the acts these terrorist have already done.
