And regarding the 12 seconds, the maximum time of usefull conciousness - google it - at 41000 feet - at the maximum altitude a 737-800 can fly at is 16 seconds - an industry wide known fact. So yes, if the aircraft had not descended, then yes, there is, in a healthy, non-smoking young adult, approx 16 seconds to make a concious decision before the onset of hypoxia, which results in an in abillity to make competent decisions to preserve life.
And regarding the oxygen masks, the bags do NOT inflate as they are supplimentary o2 which flows for 12 minutes to allow time to descend the aircraft in a staged descent - i.e. over high mountains. Furthermore, the oxygen which is on aircraft to give to passengers in a medical emegrency - the bags on THOSE masks dont even inflate as they are only a MAXIMUM of 4 litres per minute.
Just because the bag doesn't inflate and it doesn't feel like its being forced down your throat, doesn't mean it didn't work. I'm sure it did work otherwise most people would've passed out from asphyxiation.
I've noticed on a lot of the safety videos/briefings now they say that the bag may not inflate.
Gentleman, my disappoint isn't referred to the accident, but the cause of that. Why nobody is speaking of that? It was possible to avoid it? We are speaking about safety and evrybody should be working to avoid in total this kind of accident for the future

B) Crew needed to get down as quickly as poss so they didn't have time to make a PA annocument
