'im tierd i just got back from this party , IM DRUNK!' I laughed so hard, but I do have a question, i have dry skin so would oil free cleansers be bad for my skin type?
my favorite products are from st ives! the green tea cleanser and scrub definatly calm the redness on my face and they clear my skin without over drying it. i also use extra virgin olive oil on my face before i go to sleep and in the morning, my skin is sooo soft! you have to try it
my skin is red and kind of blotchy, too. I use a lot of st. ives products. i loveeeee them! I have their new one with green tea in it for red skin, and its amazing! It really helps with the redness and it doesn't leave my skin feeling overly tight or dry. It feels clean and soft, i think you should try it.
I was worried about using an exfoliate every day too. I heard the beads can be to rough for the skin, but i just love how smooth and clean it makes my face feel after.
YOU ALSO HAVE COMBINATION SKIN, k girl so so glad I found you!! Keep those videos coming! ( I'm trying to catch up on all your videos so I don't ask you a question that you have already answered.) :)
i have spent time researching over the counter products and this one is legit for sun protection. I hope this helps you and bless you in your future endeavors with skin care! If anyone has any questions on their skin care needs feel free to ask. Everyone has different needs for cleanser, toners and moisturizers. If anyone needs some advice I would be more than happy to help.
This is extremely important even during the winter time as UV rays are still penetrating the earths surface. Try looking for a sunscreen that contains zinc oxide and or titanium dioxide. Oil of Olay has a good spf moisturizer. You can get it for sensitive skin and its spf 30, i believe its called sun defense or something like that.
You are stripping the skin of natural oils when you cleanse and we need to put those oils back into the skin for proper functioning. Our skin needs whats called a lipid barrier for protection from outside environmental junk. We also have to make sure that we are using a moisturizer with spf 15 at the minimum for combating against UVB and UVA rays.
Redness can also be caused by exfoliationg too much. I would recommend using it 2-3 times a week, and make sure you are rubbing ever so slightly, we need to be gentle with our skin. And whatever you do, do not use any of the apricot scrub, that is way too harsh for someones face. In addition to all of this, it is important to moisturize night and day after cleansing, toning, and exfoliation.
Also, when you wash your face with a cleanser you are changing your skins natural ph so its important to make sure we tone our face after cleansing to make sure we don't destroy our skins acid mantel (protective barrier) As for exfoliation, even though you dont get irritated doing it everyday, over exfoliation can cause microscopic tears in your skin which can lead to further skin issues down the road.
Hi! I was watching your skin care routine video..I am an esthetician, so I just thought I would share a few things with you to help you out! Using the neutrogena cleanser is good especially if you have breakouts, if you find that your face is tight after washing it, you might need to try using the neutrogena power cream with 2% salicylic acid, that wont strip as much as the gel cleanser.
yes, overusing an exfoliant more than once a week is bad for your skin. not just sensitive skin, all skin types. it can cause your top layer of skin to overdry, which can lead to breakouts.
if u have oily skin and u find that moisturising makes u brek out. try using tacum powder to soothe it and make it softer rather than moisturiser so that u dnt put on as much oil. i dnt suggest u do this everyday tho. moisturise at least 3 times a week
I have oily and "acne-prone" skin and I use Biore Ice Cleanser- very refreshing in the morning. In the winter, I use Neutrogena Redness Soothing Cream Cleanser- the aloe in it soothes & reduces redness w/o added oil. (Alba, good 4 ur cheeks!) For moisturizer, I use Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion- oil free & clears breakouts overnight. I was using Clearsil On the Spot Treatment but since I'm out, I'll try the Clean 'n Clear you suggested. Thanks! Hope this helps! :)
ANYTHING by Olay. And 2 acne spot treatments. One from Mary Kay and the other is Walgreens brand thats a little stronger so I use it for pimples and the Mary Kay one to prevent more pimples.
i use biore 4-in-1 self-foaming cleanser then biore moisture lotion spf 15 in the morning then i use biore warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser [complexion clearing] and the same lotion at night. its helped alot. and when i get a pimple i use clearasil overnight acne defense gel and its gone the next day
omg the clean and clear advantage spot treatment works freakin well its all that i use for when i got a pimple here or there it just makes dramatically smaller or completely gone !!!!! love it ~BlushKrush
yeah, I used to exfoliate everyday, and I also have combination skin, but after using it for a long time, i got peeling flakiness around my mouth, and it was difficult to apply makeup. But I stopped using it and after a whole day it pretty much went away.
OH!! also that day I went like skin care krazy! so I bought a couple of products all of which worked really well, including Burt's Bees herbal blemish stick which control incoming pimple especially the juicy ones (eww..) but anyways it deflates it down immediately also the girl at the counter told me that burt's bees is actually a great skin care line and its also very good for your skin, since it has alot of beneficial ingredients for your skin, its just a bit more expensive but worth it.
I use neutrogena products they keep my skin clear, Ive never had bad skin but during my sr. yr. in high school I broke out a bit & these products cleared it right up,most recently I had a wedding 2 go 2 and I really needed to get rid of a few post acne marks on my chin and I saw a commercial for Neutrogena rapid clear 2-in-1 fight & fade gel, I bought it and it works really well the post acne marks are like almost completely gone. I could see a major difference in like less than a wk.
I would like to reccomend Noxzema i use it everyday! i used to have terrible skin then i started using it then my skin was clearing up! this stuff is AMAZING!!!
I just want to know what your daily routine is because I am kind of confused as to what to use at what time? Do you do the acne wash in the shower then get out and do the two exfoliators? Or do you switch it up? Sorry to ask and please reply!
i bought the ponds cold cream jus cuz u sed it worked for u =] ; ill def tell u how it workss out for meeee. P.S u shuld do a "favorite lipstick/lipgloss videeeooo ! cus u alwys wear such nice ones ;D
Hi! I've tried the clean & clear kit & the proactiv, clean & clear kit definetly works better than proactiv. I'm currently using Nutrogena Deep Cream cleanser & luv it! I have combiation skin, oily at times. No breakouts & just feels fresh! Then I use my Clinique Dramatically Different Gel moisturizer as a primer because it is oil free, nice enough to get the job done, absorbs pretty quickly into your skin. Then I'm ready for make up! OMG totally agree with u on the face wipes. Great vid Thanks!
exfoliating your face every day is really bad BUT it's because you choose 'mechanic' exfoliates to do it (little particles that scrub your skin)
you should try Salicylic acid instead. it's actually a derivate from aspirine, really good for calming redness and exfoliating deep inside your skin. one of the best products is Paula's Choice 2% BHA lotion (it's important to leave it on so it can work it's magic do not buy something to rinse off immediately) Neutrogena also has some good BHA stuff.
If you love clean and clears acne spot treatment.. you would looove AcneFree Acne & Blackhead Terminator 10 . It's a time released 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. (instead of 2%) it's the strongest over the counter acne treatment available. and it's amazing!! I don't really have bad acne... like you said once a month. and Ill put this on my"spot" and it is ALWAYS gone by the next morning! Always!* =)
my face is super oily too! does the clinique acne solutions help control the oil? my mom and i were going to get it, but the only active ingredients were salilic acid 2%, and you can just go to the drugstore and get something with salilic acid 2%, so we just got the regular 3 step kit instead.
i use St. Ives apricot scub with elder flower i put it all over my face in the shower and leave it on for 5 minutes it makes so soft and smoove that i cant stop touching my face i really recommend it
I like taking off my makeup with ponds cream as well. I can't use to for my skin regularly b/c I have acne prone skin but I love it to take off my makeup.
@PointeQueen14 The only things that will help with black heads are exfoliation and proper extraction. Try getting a treatment product/moisturizer that has 10% glycolic acid in it, that will help shed the top layer of the stratum corneum to remove any dead skin that you have that is blocking or clogging your follicles. Use pressure when trying to extract a blackhead, but try not to use your nails, this can cause hyperpigmentation and maybe scarring.
i love biore its amazing and literally over night it clears me up. Now as far as exfoliators its fine to use it everyday. im pretty sure cuz my mom is an aesthetician but if i find out otherwise i'll write back... :)
I also absolutely love lush;s ocean salt -works so well to even skin tone and decrease breakouts
i've never mask of magnaminty - might try it soon if i get any money but my favourite mask of theirs is brazened honey, just great for exfolitaing and making my skin feel fresh and healthy and decreases the redness of any spots or blemishes i have
luv hattie baker (the sister of will whos account this is)
I tried ProActive it broke my skin out big time, but the results are different for everyone. I use alot of clean and clear products,a nd to me they work pretty well I never tried the acne spot thing that you have but i think i will.
yeah, and people I know say that it worked but after a long time, they stop using it, and their skin breakes out pretty bad because their skin starts to get dependent on ProActive.
@PeaJay87 i tried Proactiv too, it totally effed up my face big time. i just started using the product 'Purpose' and i have had a completely clear face since.
my favorite skin care product is clearasil stayclear skin perfecting wash
i started using it since like a week a go and that same week i started seeing results my skin was clearer it exfoliates the skin and has moisturizing ingredients
its just awsome,i love it, and i highly reccomended and you could put it everyday
a good -ish alternative to mac wipes or make up wipes is baby wipes. I like to use it to poorly spot clean my brushes as well. Even wet my brushes. but all makeup wipes are just as versatile. I really love having any kind of wipes
i had some redness too, and ever since i introduced a toner that didn't have any alcohol in it it has gone completely. (i have one fromt he brand called "Siple" it was $6 australian dollars :) i hope that helped since i used to hate the top and front of my cheeks, but now it's gone!
About exfoliating you skin daily, you may not notice any effects on your skin now, but over time the beads can tear/cause sensitivity, you may want to use it cautiously. You have beautiful skin :)
I love Olay.. I have those wipes too.. the ones in the blue baggie for sensitive skin, their great to get some make-up off before washing with a cleanser. I love the whole line of PURPOSE (theirs only 3 things though, haha).. the cleanser and lotion are absolutely amazing! You should definitely check it out. You can get it at any drugstore
Great video! great idea about the wipes if you're too lazy to wash your face lol. that will come in handy! & i didn't know that you should flip over the wipes box either. thanks for the tip! I will try the clean & clear acne medicine, i've been on the search for something good!
since i have dry skin i use neutrogena cream cleanser and I use st. ives apricot scrub as an exfoliater and the best moisturizer ive found it regular baby lotion the johnson&johnson one thats pink. its the best and it keeps my skin moisturized all day. and I always use neutrogena 90spf sunscreen because I easily get sunburned on my cheeks.
I use the same brand of exfoliator, and like you, I use it everyday. I did not experience redness, dryness, or broke out. I do love the tingly feeling when your rinse it out : )
I exfoliate my face everytime I shower...so basically everyday and I never have a problem with it and it keeps my skin soft. I love Alba toner & Cleanser, Aveeno Moisturizer, & Noah's Naturals Night and eye cream. Also Jojoba oil is the closest oil to your natural skin oil, so at night mixing some with your moisturizer or just using it by itself is awesome. Also a great pimple fighter is tea tree oil!!
i personally use all dove products, and they work really great. i have that clean and clear ance spot treatment too, i LOVE it. its like my bestfreind lol
I heard that exfoliating your face everyday is bad but I use to do and I liked how my skin looked. I use to use the Aveeno Daily Scrub. Also, when I didn't do it I think my skin looked weird. I can't use it anymore or any drug store facial product because I have developed eczema.
as long as it doesn't dry out your face, exfoliating everyday should be fine. I find my face gets tight if I do this, but my skin is kinda dry to begin with.
I use the wet wipes as the first step to cleaning my face.
Pure tea tree oil is great at zapping spots/blemishes...i swear by it :) I only use face care products from my health store coz they are free from SLS and parabens.
Don't feel bad about exfoliating everyday... I have sensitive skin and I still do it because I have seborrheic dermatitis so help keep the flaky skin down. five stars!
To treat pimples, the best way is to first reduce the swelling, i.e with salicylic acid and then after put an antibiotic cream, like clindamyacin. That way you fight the stuff that causes the pimples to come up in the first place
could you review Freya skincare? I saw it in glamour and would love to know what its about.
great video! I am def gunna try out a lot of these products!!

What does help control is any face creme that says "mattifying"

yeah, and people I know say that it worked but after a long time, they stop using it, and their skin breakes out pretty bad because their skin starts to get dependent on ProActive.
LiveLaughLoveYa 2 years ago
@PeaJay87 i tried Proactiv too, it totally effed up my face big time. i just started using the product 'Purpose' and i have had a completely clear face since.

a good -ish alternative to mac wipes or make up wipes is baby wipes.

Tapatia310 2 years ago
I never thought of that! I definitely will be more careful, thanks!
AlbaMayo 2 years ago
I love Olay.. I have those wipes too.. the ones in the blue baggie for sensitive skin, their great to get some make-up off before washing with a cleanser. I love the whole line of PURPOSE (theirs only 3 things though, haha).. the cleanser and lotion are absolutely amazing! You should definitely check it out. You can get it at any drugstore

Great video! great idea about the wipes if you're too lazy to wash your face lol. that will come in handy! & i didn't know that you should flip over the wipes box either. thanks for the tip! I will try the clean & clear acne medicine, i've been on the search for something good!

since i have dry skin i use neutrogena cream cleanser and I use st. ives apricot scrub as an exfoliater and the best moisturizer ive found it regular baby lotion the johnson&johnson one thats pink. its the best and it keeps my skin moisturized all day. and I always use neutrogena 90spf sunscreen because I easily get sunburned on my cheeks.

wow spf 90!? Need to get thaat.

I use the same brand of exfoliator, and like you, I use it everyday. I did not experience redness, dryness, or broke out. I do love the tingly feeling when your rinse it out : )

what do you use around your eyes?

Nothing yet but I know I should to start preventing the wrinkles now!

I heard that exfoliating your face everyday is bad but I use to do and I liked how my skin looked. I use to use the Aveeno Daily Scrub. Also, when I didn't do it I think my skin looked weird. I can't use it anymore or any drug store facial product because I have developed eczema.

I want that kit with the clean and clear products, but I haven't seen it in canada. if anyone has, please message me.
pinkabuki 2 years ago
you can always just order it online. thats what i did!
strawberriesandkiwi 2 years ago
as long as it doesn't dry out your face, exfoliating everyday should be fine.

I have sensitive skin and I still do it because I have seborrheic dermatitis so help keep the flaky skin down. five stars!

Awesome skincare routine!
It is really bad to use your exfoliator everday because it washes away your natural good oils in your face =)
your videos are always so fun to watch and love your eye make up =D

To treat pimples, the best way is to first reduce the swelling, i.e with salicylic acid and then after put an antibiotic cream, like clindamyacin. That way you fight the stuff that causes the pimples to come up in the first place
