  • wow the china players are so offensive!

    :O

  • two things about this game. First of all.. I didn't see any of Ding Ning's Crazy style serve.

secondly. the korean women weren't given any chances by the Chinese to counter attack. The point of a defensive player, in my mind, is to use any errors by the attack to counter attack... and china did a really good job preventing that

  • be it chopper or killer, defensive or offensive... the winner is the one who gets one more ball on the opponent's side's table. but my point here is to enjoy some awesome and fun matches :)

  • So funny at 3:34. She had time to run all the way back to position...

  • ah, the defenders need to be more aggressive. High drop shots and they still chop them

  • 2 choppers, 2 losers! Chopper style was invented by the Chinese at least 4 decades ago. Nowadays no Chinese player who represents the motherland China is a chopper, because the Chinese realize it doesn't work. Yet, foreign countries still employ choppers. What a backward mindset! They don't realize the TT world has changed. The best defense is offense! ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Fan Ying is also a chopper and is part of the main team...

  • still , their chops are awesome, right?

  • @tyoungos

Apparently you didn't watch the 2009 ITTF Junior World Championships... The women's singles winner, Wu Yang, is Chinese and a chopper.... =P

  • @tyoungos Not entirely true. All the games were pretty close. And also, the offensive players here were ranked higher and (I think) are younger. Joo is an awesome defender, having beat Ma Lin, Wang Liqin and nearly Ma Long, too. (all great offensive players)

  • Woah. Amazing quality.

  • it so good watching 2 defensive players together in doubles so entertainng

  • just gotta love those choppers!

    5 stars countenance!

  • Dang how tall is Ding Ning? Liu Shiwen looks so tiny next to her.

  • why do they have to do that whole circle movement why they chop? seems better to save that energy to use in a spinnier chop.

  • I think they make the whole movement to cover up the spin. They can chop without spin and with alot of spin like that without the opponent to see it. If you make a short movement when giving alot of spin and a long movement when you give no spin, on that level they see it. So I think its to cover up the spin, might be wrong tho :)

    5*

  • ah. makes sense. never thought about that. haha

  • @plot000000 i think its to guide the ball to the other side of the table. if you do a quick punch like chop, its probably going to go straight to the net. it also adds more spin. its like swinging a baseball bat, you don't swing half way, you swing to the fullest to get more power.
