Sometimes when comparing between both the a320 and the 737 cockpit (no offense) i just realize that the 737-800 is a classic aircraft that has so many features and highly detailed and the a320 is just as easy as aviation could get :) been inside both cockpits and spent hours in their simulators, great machines. Respect.
and thats pretty much it. It would be nice but you sometimes wonder why soem people mistakenly imagine this to be some sort of dream. I think they have misjudged
there is less buttons ,switches and levers than the DC10 ,B747 and others 70's and 80's commercial jet . todays everything rely on a few touch-screens , sensors and computers , this is why fully working planes crash suddenly into the sea
Thanks for this great video. I'm going to get type rated on this next month. Lots of new acronyms. I like the auto trim and flyby wire flight controls.
can some one please tell me why i'm so afraid of flying and i've flown 10 times in the past..... i've got a flight to day at 12 and i can't stand my anxiety, bout to just give up and not go like i did last year.
Nice video @maverick967 you are simply perfect for that seat. I am impressed and got to know detail functions of cockpit which I always admire one day to be in and fly those beautiful birds.
You were just perfect and thanks for this detailed explanation about the cockpit functions. I love this video I never got this detailed video of the cockpit. @maverick967 you are truly on the right seat.
I'm sorry but I guess this isn't an A320. Actually it's an A319. I looked up the registration and it's only an A319, but though a very good video, I still appreciate it
@fiedelmax Trust me, I know this is an A319 thanks though for saying. I put this as an A320 cockpit tour for the simple reason since the A320/318/319/321 have cockpit commonality! This was my dads last flight on the Airbus(He now flies the 747). I used the A320 name for more recognition because not everyone knows the difference between a 319 and 320. Thanks for the correction though!
@maverick967 That's no problem. I just recognized it on the registration. But I guess there is no difference between an A319 and A320 except of the length and flight dynamics. Cockpit is the same. The difference in cockpit is between the A320 and A321 but correct me if I'm wrong
@Phil1480 Im not sure, I know they have updated screens, but Im not sure that they have different layouts. I do know that if your rated to fly the A320 you also are rated to fly the 321,319, and 318.
No, the layout is the same. As far as I know, Airbus just dated up the quality of the displays for a better readability. (Better resolution) The cockpit stays the same. Thank´s for the tour !
@maverick967 is the PFD and ND of this airbus smaller than other airbus? because i've seen some A320's that their PFD and ND have pointed edges not unlike this one that is curved
@Phil1480 A318/319/320/321 all have the same flight deck layout but there are slight differences across the whole A320 family due to mod states, customer options, and of course the age of the aircraft. The EFIS display units are also slightly different between Classic and Enhanced aircraft. In all intents and purposes this video whether A319 or A320 is common to all four variants
ehmm they are german planes! :D just look at the technical parts. Thank you for this amazing Video. A captain sais one time: screens are for looking not for touching ;D
@iloveairfrance Thanks!!! I'm not sure about what US laws say about filming during takeoff and landing, but I really want to go do some intra-european flying where visiting the cockpit in flight is legal! I know some youtubers have been able to sit in the jumpseat for the whole flight by just asking and they filmed too! I'll try if I fly around over there, but I think in the US if a passenger saw me up there and they got all worried and I don't want to get in trouble for that neither does my dad
@maverick967 In fact, it's forbidden everywhere, but particularly in the U.S.
Yes, you know how I fell I guess, about getting trouble... I really don't want to get trouble by uploading my video, and above all, I don't want the very nice crew to get troubles... I want to pilot for Air France... Doesn't help in this case! :D
@ModelAirports Same! I was just talking to my mom(whose a 737 pilot at American) that when AA gets their A320s she should switch over and fly the NEOS!
amazingly that really is pretty much it! I expect to be doing my type rating in the a320 in the next couple of months and have been around the sims a few times! there's not much else to know about!
If you tried to take the gear up lots of alarms would go off telling you you're an idiot but the gear stay down, they're locked in position by the weight of the aircraft
Being familiar to the A32X serries, can you answer a questionf or me? Is the master warning a single continuous dinging (like a looping master caution) or a triad/cav charge like the A/P disconnect?
@theguy0013 Accually not... APU STANDS for Auxiliary Power Unit, But it IS an external power unit. I provides the aircraft of power and air when the engines are of so she is right..
@airlineman2201 Its a black button on the side stick controls. There is a one on both the Captains and First Officers control stick. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for sharing maverick. Super cool to get an almost full tour of the cockpit. Now we just hope for real internet in the cockpit and not just intercom ;-)
@LufthansaDAIGO An alarm would sound letting you know the handle is up. Otherwise nothing. The gear have weight sensors that only allow the gear to come up once in the air.
@maverick967 Unless your an idiot like one of the instructors at the A&P school I went to flipped an override switch thinking it wouldn't do anything. Ended up collapsing the nose and starboard gear on our retired 727 out on the tarmac. Least to say, we got to learn how to remove a wing off a 727 for repair. -.-
