  • if you like this song or the mars volta, or reading you should read the deloused storybook. youll never listen to the allbumn in the same way again

  • @TheDevintomb

  • Flea only played on this album.

  • does anyone know what take the veil cerpin taxt means?

  • @OneInchMan95

Protagonist of the story in the Mars Volta album, De-loused in the Comatorium. After overdosing on morphine, he enters a dream world where he is put through a series of trials by the tremulants, creatures from his own mind that inspire his art. In the end, he comes out of the coma and feels only fit for the dream world and attempts suicide again by jumping off of a bridge, this time succeeding.

  • @ExtraCelestialTV well i meant the literal translation from a foreign language but that works too. ive heard of this story. where did it come from?

  • @OneInchMan95 no clue I just found that on the internet :p

  • almost makes me wanna stop listening to BTBAM.. almost they are teh same caliber or skill though :D

  • @ChildhoodAbuse no need to stop listening to btbam man, these are both very different, aazing bands! always good to have variety.

  • @Fattydrums910 XD im not by far .. just admiring legit musical talents :D

  • @7:50 best musicalization ever

  • to completely understand this album, you must read the book of the album (i have it on pdf, is amazing)

  • Flea from red hot chili peppers wrote the bass for this whole album, still their best in my opinion, think that stemd from their inspiration as well

  • @MrSiphilisorus he also played trombone, trumpets and managed to help out in other functions as well

  • Woah, that's one incredibly wordy song.

  • @Superigauche Its better listened to without the lyrics so you can just sort of flow with the vocals instead of getting caught up with the admittedly distracting lyrics.

  • awesome cant say anything else

  • this has to be the best drummer in tha world!

  • its all a massive story, the entire album is a fuckin surrealist painting trapped in a fucking master piece! god damnit, this album is the album that will never ever get the respect it deserves. fuck i love this band, but more importantly; this fuckin story and its moments.

  • 3:44 = amazing guitar solo

  • yea dude the drummer is so in the pocket

  • love the mars volta, i just wish theyd shorten the songs by 1 or 2 hours. i dont think they have to many 'in the middle songs' its always waaaayyyyy too short or a tad too long. (thats what she said)

  • @xXFR057Xx hm i think i dislike you

  • @Marsvilta which makes me like you...in the butt

  • @xXFR057Xx what what in the butt? hey hey! what what in the butt! hey hey! lol

  • GTE HIM TO THE GREEK

  • The font doesn't match the song.

  • beautiful

  • @DamnationDude12

The song, like the entire album is based around a short story the singer written..

it has little to do with julius caesar. more-so a close friend of the band who committed suicide.

  • It's too bad they don't have a love button

  • in 4:16 everything seems cluttered but it somehow works out perfectly

  • my fave volta song. the way you've slideshowed the lyrics looks great, good job man

  • it's funny in so many shows/movies you some song summoning some ancient demon that slaughters all of humanity. I feel like eventually a mar volta song will do this very thing

  • not muse, maybe old good carlos santana

  • I love this song! And not to put The Mars Volta up with comparison, but doesn't this song sound a little bit like When Skeletons Live by Coheed and Cambria? Just saying. The intros sound similar.

    TMVforeverandeverandeverandever

  • @chemicalreaction94 i always thought the two sounded similar

  • The bass part on here is amazing.

  • ..." you must have been phlegmatic with stature"

  • i dont even want to interpret the lyrics...just turn this shit the fuck ^^^^^^UP^^^^^^^

  • his voice sounds like the singer of the ghostland observatory

  • no better band in the last 40 years than the volta.

  • @bbetanc

    What about muse?

  • @michael102387 muse sucks

  • @damnationdude12 pretty sure up and not across is a suicide reference not how julius caesar was assassinated, who was stabbed to death and did not have his wrists cut..but who knows?

  • Amazing song, but my only problem is the lyrics. I'm a fan of obscurity for sure, but this collection of words just doesn't make sense. The lyrics are obscure for sake of being obscure in my opinion. The phrasing of the first riff still baffles me, and I've listened to this song a lot of times. I don't want to sound like I'm not into their musical vision, because I really am. The lyrics make them a slightly less perfect band, for what little that's worth.

  • the mars volta fuckin rocks, at first i didnt like them but my boyfriend istens to them allllll the time and they grew on me, so i listen to them while hes in jail :(

  • My favorite part in the entire song is in the middle, when the 12-tone serialism part comes fading in slowly and then explodes into FUCKING AWESOMENESS.

  • @jayinater

Yea I know that part is Amazing!!!!

  • @jayinater thats my favorite part of the song too :). i just have two questions: how does he create those bizarre electronic noises with his guitar, and what exactly is serialism? iv read about it, but i still dont rly understand what it means.

  • @AllForRockNRoll It sounds like an electro harmonix frequency analyzer. LOVE THIS SONG! I'm not sure if he uses it, but it sounds similar to one with the blend turned up pretty high and also run through whatever other odd distortion he uses.

  • @boatwell silly omar...thats not what a guitar sounds like...:)

  • this song literally made me cry. its so amazingly epic

  • is it true flea from rhcp plays in this band?

  • @8033able he played for 9 of the ten songs on this album, this song is him

  • @8033able in the album frances the mute flea plays the trumpet, and my boy john plays the solos in l'via l'viaquez. RHCP all the way

  • well i´m spanish so i dont get all the lyrics but...as flies has walls for feet caught my atention, did they really quit using drugs or they still?

  • Thank you for this video. God blesses you.

  • weird shit here people, very weird shit

  • its like a vibe that tries to reach nothing created by something just anything out of everything, we are all amazed by there enchanting tunes

  • @adiel67 Nice try at surrealistic speaking, but your backwards talk has less meaning than you think. When someone tries to speak the way you attempted, it's usually because they can't think of the word or lack the vocabulary. You must forget a lot of words, I'm sure.

  • no need to knife me in i was there long before you decided to slay but there is no cure for the mass void temporary scabs of insomnia but it was flesh that brought me here

  • I have no words....

  • their drummer is monstrously good

  • @Theseventhknight yeah to bad they kicked john theodore out

  • The deepest, most meaningful album you'll ever here.

  • this song is sick one of my fav albums from tmv i like atdi too but this album is sick

  • @JadKni I disagree, but I will agree with the fact that it has a deeper meaning than most artists could achieve. Omar and Cedric certainly do know how to make a simple story and turn it into music that reaches an epic high, but there are others. Tool, for example, could get so much meaning concerning politics and ethics into a single song. Also, it's hear, as in I hear you. Don't mean to be a dick, I'm just obsessive about spelling.

  • @JadKni is that your opinion? well, same hear..lol

  • @JadKni if you like this then you'll love King Crimson.

you want deep and meaningful poetry. check out the album court of the crimson king.

  • @JadKni Y second only to frances the mute

  • @JadKni Not trying to be an ass but its hear not here.

  • @JadKni no. that happens to be Pink Floyd's "The Wall"

  • @padfootpak

While I'm not sure I agree with my previous statement (which was one year ago), I do find The Wall to be a bit vain.. Though The Wall is an excellent album.

  • @JadKni Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore

  • @JadKni one to rival The Wall

  • @Brownie7108 i think better than the wall. Well as far as the the particular album goes. this in one of my top 10

  • @JadKni i couldnt hear it

  • wat

  • sick band, drums***** vocals***** lyrics*****

  • The solo around the 4 minute mark is insane...

  • U just have a problem interpriting a masterpiece such as this lol

  • @Tojennamylove13 Some of the lyrics up top are misinterpreted. The "Housefly" section especially.

  • no es de entender sino de interpretar bro

  • Lets see...i m spanish but i can speak and understand english but...I cant understand ANITHING that cedris sings even reading it... do i ve got a problem?

  • well, he only speaks english in this song, so yeah, you've got a problem.
