Obviously Google corperatized Youtube. But saying YT doesn't allow 'sex', that's not true, look at all the thumbnails of all the partners, half if not all, are shots of women's cleavage, all videos have 'sexual content' in them, when 'TheStation' came out it was basically all sexual oriented videos albeit not pornographic but things you wouldn't want to watch w/ your kid. Regarding your Q, I hear 'Whatthebuck' makes 6 figures from Youtube, so imagine Nigahiga, he had enough to produce a movie.

Fred and Shane Dawson are both fags. And I want to know how much the big guys make also. There was a newspaper article that had a story about WhatTheBuckShow and it said he makes over $100K per year off of his vids with 300K subscribers. He has now more than doubled that number of subscribers, so his income must have doubled also! Those people are lucky to be able to make vids from their own homes and make big bucks off of them.

It seems to me that basically all you have to do to become successful on YouTube is cater to people's erections 24 hours a day. Thought-provoking videos are watched less and less every day while these clowns with hundreds of thousands of views and absolutely no substance to their videos continue to make bank.

I agree man, it's like music now a days, there are tens of thousands of good musicians out there, but most of the music people listen to is garbage, made by a few famous people, because the record companies, mtv, and corporations controlling what get's attention, some times the human race is an epic fail.

It's funny because look at everyone who gets featured. It's either HotForWords with her cleavage shots, some other attractive female vloggers, and most of the men who are continuously featured use the lame old "put a picture of a half-naked woman in the middle of your video" trick (Phil DeMarco is notorious for this garbage tactic to get views). And whenever Charles Trippy posts a new video, it has something like "hot girl does such and such" in the title. It's ridiculous.

I personally feel like Charles Trippy used those titles not as a means to gain attention, but as more of a silly play on words in reference to his fiance who also stars in the videos alongside him. The titles were usually harmless, and suggested humour. I do completely disagree with the cheap shots on sex being such a main selling point (ie. the sexy thumbnail pictures some YouTubers use - it sucks) but I don't think he was intentionally doing his video titles in the same spirit to get views.

I think the accuracy of the words used in the search box determine the videos you tag or find. When a video has a common name, the featured videos always get preference. When i first looked at you tube there were only 2 pages worth of flamenco guitar videos for example. I made a channel about 2 years later and there were already 200 pages. Now 1 year later there are roughly two pages of flamenco guitar videos uploaded every day.

Those initial 2 pages worth of videos have hundreds of thousands of views due to them being the only ones available for the first year. They are not necessarily the best videos but many are now featured. That is why it is annoying when featured channels who started early believe there success is due to talent. We all have an equal shot but it is becoming more difficult by the day.

You get less views now because there are more videos. The "famous" people on Youtube didn't start out that way. They made videos that attracted a lot of people. What's there to hate about?

The fact is that the people at the top get views and positive ratings. If you want to get more views, make a ton of good videos and do a bit of promotion. Ask other youtubers to mention you, etc. That's how a lot of the now famous people started. They just got into the game when there was less competition.
