Hi Doc, I am in the process of buying a Naomi but I have been hearing horrible reviews on X-ray quality and customer service... can you give me your feedback?
MrUpfront, you are correct. If you notice, when the doc windows and levels the image, it goes white almost immediatley, this means that this unit has very poor dynamic range. A well known brand of CR will perform much better
I've been researching this unit for an office for a while now and have heard both sides of the story. I'm not quite sure I believe the statement that Dr. Kriss makes regarding his x-ray tube having to "work a lot less." I was under the impression that this system was processing at less than 400speed film equivalency. In which case, your x-ray tube would have to work harder to give the same image density as traditional film. That said, I think the image quality from CR is much better. Thoughts?
I have been very happy with my film quality. Fortunately I have not had to deal with customer service, so don't know about that.

@emass50 A $50 camcorder doesn't do it much justice either

The tube does work harder. The speed of the x-ray is virtually cut in half with most any CR or DR system.

@MrUpfront Especially since Naomi has upgraded their software and supplied me with a custom technique chart, my MAS are way down.
