@roboboro I must say I am a bit offended at your presumptiveness here. No one is "translating" our names. My name IS John, not Juan, and Robert's name is Roberto but he (and almost everyone else except a very few immediate family members) calls himself Robert out of personal choice and he has for many years. Maybe Juan and Roberto sound better to you because we play Mexican music, but we prefer the names we were born with and/or chose for ourselves.

Why am I wrong if I listen music and feel proud about being Chicano? Just because Im not from Veracruz does not stop me from appreciating my family roots in Mexico. Being Chicano to me is accepting and appreciating both my cultures, and realizing that even though I am not living in Mexico at this time, the Mexican culture as well as the American culture runs through my blood. That's why I am not wrong to hear this music and be proud of where our past families come from and TO BE CHICANO.
