your music makes me fly like a majestic eagle, even in the hard moments makes me feel stronger, like nothing can be imposible.you know how to put strange instruments together and realize' alien 'sounds that are vibrant inside me.
the calleach or "old woman" is a terrifying celtic spirit from the mythology of Scotlands ancient folklore. Shes not sugar coated like the leprachaurn of ireland many places are called after her to be avoided especially if your alone in the loch shore or on a mountain that bares her name.
She wasn't a spirt, she was a deity. She was the mother of all the other gods and goddesses, shaped the land with her hammer, herded the 'fairy cattle' and lorded over the Winter months. Although, you are right, she was by no means sugar coated. Often she would kidnap Bride, her elemental opposite, so she could rule over Winter for a longer period of time.
@TheThreeWeavers ah right Bria the queen of winter if i recall? Yeah their are lots of places where she is said to roam and people are still wary of her. With the bride kidnap their seems to be a slight resemblence to Greek mythology?
Yes, it does have a bit of a Hades and Persephone feel to it but it is infact quite a universal idea. Although, in this case, instead of the Winter willingly letting the Spring return to the earth, the winter makes sure she doesn't return for a month or two. Makes sense in Scotland :P We never known when Winter will truly stop.
@TheThreeWeavers excellent comment there, I so wish our kids would be taught this in school. Its a fascinating part of our history. Id much rather have heard these ancient stories than any other myths.
It is indeed a beautiful part of our history but they are not taught it because the Christian church does not like the idea of us being reacquainted with our roots. Greek myths are a sure favourite as it ties into the learning of Latin which aids in Catholic learnings.
I kid you not, I have come across fellow Scottish people who purposely kick up a fuss to prevent things like this being taught. It makes no sense at all, especially when much of it has already been converted.
There's something so mysterious about it, its so soothing though, yet it arouses questions. It makes me think of a simpler time, where people loved one another, loved nature, and respected Mother Earth.
Je rêve, cette musique me tranporte dans un univers d´antan, ce sont des milliers de sentiments qui perlent sur mon âme, me voilà au coeur de ces lieux mystiques et envoutants, ferme tes yeux et aspire la beauté de ces lieux....
I'm from Russia,I like celtic music and language, it sounds like mystery or fairy tale. When I listen to it, I feel that I want to cry, to sing, to fly at the same time and I miss Ireland, the country I have never been before...Thank you!

The original castle was blown up by the English after Culloden. The castle on the site today was built in the early 1900s.
