Intervene only works on melee or ranged hits. Sap is a melee cc so if you time it right you will take the sap not your partner. Also works on kidney shots(if u get it in between a white hit) ,gouge, silencing shot, blind, bash, , scatter shot l, monkey stun, and a few other I can't think of off the top of my head. Even though it doesn't take the effect of a hunter trap it's used to intercept traps so your partner doesn't get caught in them. It will not work on fear, hex, polymorph, or cyclone.
