  • Hes an alien i know it!

  • funny how Robert said that it felt as if he was playing a grandmaster

  • I knew this trick for very long time! This is nothing new!

  • I'm super hetero, but i would totally date and go gay for Darren Brown :D

  • Bravo

  • I find him beating one of them hard to understand though. I guess his chess isn't quite shiiit.

  • brilliant

  • actually if anything this is the most impressive thing ive seen by Derren....I hate the stupid hypnosis shit where he makes someone feel drunk or steals someones wallet by asking. This is just pure logic, reasoning, and memory, which I find a lot cooler and more impressive.

  • Derren switched the envelope, he did touch it in fact, when he took the evelope and away and assisted in unfolding the paper, I'm sure he switched it 100%. Otherwise wouldnt it be smarter to show everyone the # before the game even started?

He simply memorized the # of pieces left in each game and mirrored it on the paper, the 6 mistake may have been a clever trick to make it look authentic or mabey Derren counted the pieces wrong.

  • The title says he destroys 9 grandmasters.

    There were not all GMs.

He only beat four of them...not 9.

  • I havent watch this yet, but if i would be clever i would use other players moves for the next game, so infact they are playing eachother not Derren :D LOL

  • ... is it me or does derren brown remind you of patrick jane .. from the mentalist ?..

  • This is so random, even at first round any opening could be used and that would totally mess up the rest of his game. If they dont play EXACTLY alike, it wont work

  • @DeeWeext Err no? Derren sees an opening, copies it to another guy, watches his response and uses that same response against the first guy. Effectively the two guys are playing eachother, he's just the middle man.

I would guess the NLP comes in at deciding what number of pieces are left at the end, by suggesting when they should concede or draw, and himself can choose when to accept a loss.

  • Yeah... for the envelope, he could very well have changed it from the man, I've seen him stealing the tie of a man without him noticing, several times in a row!

  • It's hard to believe people play this for fun. I'd rather play left 4 dead 2...

  • Wow what the hell? Even the losses he planned?

  • That's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen this year for sure. And Derren is the greatest man in the universe, imho.

  • my chess is shit. aww maks me laugh so much

  • Very clever.

I can't work out how he did the numbers in the envelope. It's impossible to predict, and I can't see any evidence of subsitution.

  • Fun to watch. Very clever of him.

  • I've actually done this but with just two people not 9

  • So what if he's gay, I'm as hetero as they come and I'm gay for Derren. Just kidding... He is a brilliant man, that's for sure.

  • lol thats gay, he just used memory, how gay, but still awesome at how he remembered that shit

  • This guy is a fag!he is also superb

  • 1. There were 4 grandmasters, not 9.

    2. Derren didn't use any hypnosis or NLP, just an excellent memory.

  • @glee7112 and read them to predict their movements.
