@netlogboy hellcat wasn't a tank. US tanks like Sherman had machineguns on the front and stabilized guns for shooting on the move. Hellcat was a tank destroyer, its armor was thin, it was specialized for occupying fire positions, and shooting enemy tanks in the flank, "for it is quite the usual thing to face the way you run, and if you shoot him in the flank he will not see your gun". US then used asymmetric doctrine: TDs vs. tanks, and tanks vs. artillery/logistics, artillery vs. infantry
Great video. These guys make it look like Belgium in the winter of 44. Could be the view an uncle of mine had of the time. Thank you very much. Keep history alive!
Hi the tank was built in 1944, its not my tank, it belongs to a guy called Mark Alport. It was in service in Europe with one of the smaller countries not sure which, until the 1980s. The next time I see Mark I will get some info and post it here.
@jawehawk Its a tank destroyer. Created by the americans after the M10 tank destroyer proved to be uncapable of handling the heavy german armor. The hellcat was alot faster than the M10 and could outflank german tanks. But despite the speed, it was no match for the Panthers
@Genmax222222 I know what it is, and what the purpose of it was. I was just curious of this specific tank's history. And before you say, "it's not a tank, it's a tank destroyer!!!" DON'T! While tank destroyer is the official designation, it is still in basic functions, a tank.
You guys are so incredible lucky to get to use such a fantastic machine. btw what kind of main gun does the M18 have? I know it's a 76mm gun, but I thought it was the same one as mounted on the

Looked very good (except the bayonet lug on the carbine). A little black and white photography would be even better! Thanks for posting it.
