Larry's tip for nailing biceps - hit the brachialis...for isolating the Brachi you want to take the bicep out of the equation. To do this it's either on a spider bench (Larry invented it) or a high cable seated with your elbows at the top of your head. The upper arm stays right next to the head. Once you put the arm in this position the bicep plays no part in the movement. Much lighter weight must be used for this exercise.
When you see the photos at 0:58 At age 24, 54, 64, There seems to be very little difference from the way he looks at 24 and 54..However at age 64 you can see some age related flaws in his physique, But still looks very good
OF course he was the first ever MR. OLYMPIA but NO ONE more perfectly chiselled than Mr. Scott succeeded him........and the gay community of America probably went into ecstasy in 1962 when he posed nude in the Colorado Rockies for photographer Guildof Denver.. You rock man. I know you are happily married to a woman but I'll bet that every gay or bixesual male would love to squeeze your biceps.
@Tanello82 more like... keeping an engine maintained, and cleaning and rebuilding parts, and keeping it well oiled and expecting it to last longer. Ever keep a car in a shed for 5 or 6 years then try to waltz right in and expect it to start? tell you what, you can go your whole life without excercising or exerting yourself and i'll keep working out naturally and lets see who dies first! =)
I'm not entirely sure, but just making an observation. It seems like the bodybuilders of the golden era never really got fat in their "offseason" as today's new era bodybuilders do. They also didn't shred down to 3% body fat, I think the golden era guys look great. I appreciate both eras of bodybuilders, but I'd like to have that old school physique for sure.
Larry Scott the best of Ever!! My personal Classific is: 1-Larry Scott 2-Frank Zane 3-Arnold Schwarznegger 4-Serge Nubret 5-Sergio Oliva 6-Lee Haney 7-Ronnie Coleman 8-Lou Ferrigno 9-Silvester Stallone Is only my personal opinion, isn't a offense for nobody
Manuantho i keep my taste similar to yours except of that ronnie coleman, to my opinion he doesn't fit there. Instead i'd class Kevin Levrone on my top ten
"SYLVESTER STALLONE" are you SERIOUS ??? Sylvester Stallone WAS NEVER A BODYBUILDER.........................HAVE U BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK BUDDY ???!!! SYLVESTER STALLONE IS A FAKE ASS BODYBUILDER WANNA BE, EVEN ACTOR MARK WAHLBERG HAD A FAR, FAR BETTER PYSIQUE THAN SYLVESTER STALLONE !!!
@elite99900 Larry still puts out some of the best tips & tricks out there and should be considered the Godfather of Bodybuilding and given the utmost respect. The thing with his biceps is one thing I never though of that I learned from him...work on the brachialis, the tiny little muscle under the bicep. Should be info out there on how to nail it and trust me it works!
@louhazosc Uh! Maybe you might re-think the godfather. John Grimek was not only a great weightlifter but also an impressive bodybuilder with exceptional symmetry. Larry Brown is one of the greats for sure and I have the mags with articles and photos from the 60's still. A good handbalancer too.
@tragit104 OK OK, I was just making a general statement about how great Larry was in the 60s, but it is more impressive all that Grimek did in the 40s, very impressive. I mean seriously, what the hell did they even have then for equipment?
