If you haven't heard or bought it yet NR put out a cd in 2011 that has the old Dawn Patrol feel, excellent album, it is called Somewhere In California, look for it on here, you will not be diaappointed
Did my Navy "A" school at Memphis, TN. back in 1987. Saw their concert @ Mud Island Amphitheatre with opening act The Outfield. Remember rushing the stage, and right before one of Jeff Watson's guitar solo, I reached out and grabbed one of his guitar strings! I held him captive for a moment, then let him go! We both were surprised at what had just happened, but we both let out a big smile before he went on to rip the stage to shreds! Awesome times that we'll never ever experience again!
0 dislikes. Epic. All you kids just discovering this stuff, wondering what happened to musicians who can actually play an instrument and sing at the same time... welcome back to the 80s. BRING IT BACK!
night ranger always Im proud to say Im 44 and have all their albums even the new one SOMEWHERE IN CALIFORINA it sounds like part dawn patrol part midnight maddness night ranger like wine get better with age
old people check out " blind man " by buck stone cherry..there may be some hope rock wont be inherited by milo cyrus.. lol milo and the lot of untalented over payed-over played, wanna be's know wonder the french hate us look at what crap, ooops I mean rap we are exporting to the world.
Ahh, the 80s! Gleaming tour buses, glossy overproduced power melodies, over the top anthems and fashion sense and hairstyles that would leave one in cardiac arrest.
it was an Intelavision... who is the extra guy at 1:54 sitting at the table between Alan and Kelly? my dad... my uncle owned the bus and my dad drove these guys around the states on their first tour... i met them all at the Cow Palace in SF when they opened for Sammy Hagar... they stole everything out of the bar at the CP and filled our garage with more beer and soda than any one family should have... they were all great guys... kelly wrote sister christian on the bus about his actual sister.
i was 20 somthing when this song was new and hardly played on the radio , why ? was it so bad , I think this is probably there best , of that album ,or a close 2nd
I was 23 and don't remember it getting airplay until after "Sister Christian" and "When You Close Your Eyes" were released and hitting the charts two years later. I figured it was on that same album.
Sad the the media decides for us what we hear on the radio. Especially with all the junk out there today.
I saw them when i was 15 or 16,they opened for Starship and blew them away.I love this band. One of the best bands to come out of the 80's and still going strong.

When Night Ranger came to Roanoke Va. back about 83-84 my friends went and saw their show. After the show they went around back and saw the guys getting on their tour bus and yelled at them. NR came over and invited them onto the bus for a few minutes. One of my friends still has a steel Jeff Watson pick that he gave them.
@lungfixer I miss my first tape player with two headphone jacks! Wonder if I still have it in a box somewhere? Back to the 80's in a heartbeat if i could . . .
Night Ranger......Powerful strong memories....So much talent in this band....The drummer sings some of the best songs. This one, Sister Christian Goodbye, ...................great songs. !!!
What a great song, I think of a way I can get back........What do you see when you look in the mirror, I see a face in the past it's so clear. I always think about how to get back to where I was a few years back. Makes me so sentimental when I listen to this song.
yeah, sister christian is such a kara-oke staple. i'm numb when it's sung, but i love that song regardless, but then there's SING ME AWAY.....glad it's not on kara-oke @ the bars for the masses...... keepin' it '80's CORE' perpetuates this era, this time, this genre, this time/moment/decade of celebration....
Geeked up because Night Ranger is coming to Cincinnati this August to play the Taste of Blue Ash Festival. People can say what they want about 80's music...but this band could flat out play. Dawn Patrol is one of 5 favorite albums of the entire decade.
Oh my..I was 18 and I remember right where I was at driving my 69 SS Chevelle...with a 396 bigblock...and this was playing on the radio...I was thinking about a girl that I was in love with, but I did not let here know how I felt...take me back there....I will let her know...
Largepecker was an awesome dude as well ....... his penis will be enshrined somewhere ...LOL
I here he was killed during a bank robbery in South Dakota ...His real name was Mark Rogers ....A red dye pack exploded in his face and he choked on his own vomit ....
His hero was John Bonham so I guess he died happy ....hehehe good shit huh ???

Night Ranger is the Beattles of the 80's. Beautiful harmony's, two singers, SICK GUITAR PARTS, and sweeping, emotional lyrics!
chabadoogi 11 months ago
Sad thing is this music can never be re-created.
There are tons of bands trying to be/sound 80's and they just fail so badly.
Like Crashdiet, they try to be 80's... but it just doesn't have that feel to it, it sounds too modern.
Despite that 80's will always live on!
