so if you replace the heads with kevlar types and crank the tension up, it'll sound like a normal drumline snare if you know what i mean?? thanks

Is this drum worth my money? I'm seriously considering getting this, and I know a lot about drum sets, but not as much about marching snares. Just wanted to know if this is worth my $300. Thanks

@Chawesome92697 no, it will sound just a little better, but if you want a nice drum core style pop, then go with a dynasty because you are bound to be happier.

@ajcf1995 For the first ten minutes, it's not comfortable, but not-not comfortable? aha I guess it's fine for a few minutes, but then even though they're powerlites, it hurts like hell really quick. Especially in a parade in a desert city far out in inland California. LOL Your shoulder will ache badly, and a little chest pain. It's super annoying, but you can just suck it up. aha. So overall, NO they ARENT.

@MrFlyDrums you better hope that they have different carriers where your going to highschool because band camp(at my school) was a week long and 13 hours a day. I play sax though but i play drums at home because im a hobbyist, not a school percussionist.

@MrFlyDrums i dont know about the yamaha carrier because ive never warn it, but i march quads at my highschool and we had the mapex quantum series carriers and my back and shoulders hurt like a bitch ALL THE TIME. luckily for me we just upgrade to the pearls' new airframe harness. and its beyond amazing. there really is no way to even begin to describe how much better it is

i have that drum too, put a remo white max head on it, and tune it with a MARCHING drum key because you get way more torque! Also, DO NOT tune with a power drill, some people do that and end up blowing up the drumhead. good luck

no you need to buy a remo white/black max marching snare or Evans hybrid head i prefer the white max it sound so so much better because i have the same drum go to this website musicians friends.com type in marching snare heads =).........

are u shure that head is tight enough i got a pearl marching snare and tuned my self and it sounded like crap then i brought it in for my teacher to tune and he made it like 10 times tighter
