  • Nan Layad nen Sikhafan was originaly composed by Richard Oakes, the father of Sofia Oakes Bacwaden who popularized the song. Mr. Chinalpan has also another version of this song. The legendary Bontoc composer Felix Khensay composed ¨ODEM-DEM¨ which is also included in the album of Pe´Tune.

PLEASE buy the original PE´TUNE Ethnic CD album. Remember PIRACY IS A CRIME!!!

  • check out the vidncommentsnabove folks, its the live version of this song

  • yes indeed Nativebrew79!i have their albums already. Agi/Kalchangs LIALI album, its marvelous. Jun Utleg and Pe'tune are famous here, they love them as much as we do, thing is...."into kod ay ta i burn mi san CD ay sana" its ouch so i only sell to those who protect. Heard of Hardy Caligtan? A soloist, acoustic, he's good.

  • igorotmehardy's videos and songs are also interesting check him out..just "search" for igorotmehardy here in you tube..and the Salidumay vids as well

  • splendid video jay Klainga Dreadlock Rastaman, thanks Nativebrew79. My first time to lay an eye on that, i love it. Bagiw/1993, where are the other vids, hehehe, made me miss miss those rocking colege days.

  • nah!!!into ma chi nan!!!! Entako kadet men kape man ya. it all boils down to ONE thing, "nan layad" tako san nagapuan.

    ***Do birds fly?****

  • i think both parties have the best intentions...that's the good part...LONG LIVE THE IGOROT PEOPLE

  • may i ask the detractors of this music video of their qualifications and expertise on culture and music?it is disappointing to watch all the efforts of our brothers and sisters in trying to promote/preserve our culture and music only to be called persons who bastardize it.What did they ever do to preserve and promote our culture and music? as for petune/daluyon, never mind the detractors, ad ado kami ay mamati metlang ken dakayo. the crowd response to your performances says it all. rak en rol!!

  • And thanks to you wgacusana for using the song behind your video, people like you and tyynne and oceandive and nativebrew give life and meaning to the "notes" in our music.

    Matago-tago taku am-in!

  • At any rate, comments like this also make us stronger and more determined to continue our struggle for peace..because it just shows how badly we need it..and it just proves that the stories behind our songs are true and is actually happening. So thanks to you Kaydod, bangki2 and Mt. Kalawitan, you actually inspired us, I hope we could sit down one day coz I'd love to hear any suggestions you could give to improve our craft.*read on*

  • In our desire to promote our culture specially to the younger generation..we found an "attractive" way to reach out to them by sort of fusing our traditional culture to pop culture (e.g. our native instruments mixed with the modern instruments). THis is just one of the song in the C.D. listen to the whole lot and you'll find lot of original materials in it. The whole album as derived from the lyrics advocates peace and unity among us ka-kailians regardless of tribe, creed, gender and age..

  • This is just one of the song in the Album, get a copy of the C.D and you'll hear a lot of original materials. The whole theme of the Album as derived from the lyrics is unity and peace among Igorots regardless of creeds, tribe affiliations, age and gender (symbolic for the whole world, of course). The group advocates ONENESS among us kaka-ilians as an example to the whole world...comments like this makes the "cause" harder to achieve. *read on*

  • I can't help but respond to the comments on this video coz Im one of the guys whom you say "bastardize the song". First of all, before "re-arranging the song" we asked the permission of the heirs of the composer of the song if we could re-arrange it, in fact one of his descendant played guitar in this album. And even before we recorded it, we asked the whole family to listen to it..and guess what..they liked what they heard. *read on*

  • haha kaydod57.. .read daxSr's reply. . in your face.. haha.

  • Besides, the musical instruments used in enriching this song was all our very own, performed by our talented brothers and sisters whom you call "people", which without their talent, wits and guts, will not have the chance to discover and appreciate what we Igorots have. Dont you think they derserve an apology?

  • Ading Kaydod57: Your term bastardize seem to be really harsh and insulting to to our talented brothers and sisters who performed this song and to the respectable elders performing in this video. This song is really significant to us thats why thanks to the talented artist that they found a way to make the spirit going, , matago-tago san musika tako, and maybe sooner, it will turn reggae, or other genre but the song is still the same, not changed.

  • yo! its Cool.. its rockin!

tradition...culture.. they really adapt on modernization xP..its the rule of nature..

  • kaydod57, i bet pe´tune did not mean to bastardize your culture, first because the band is composed of igorots, have you ever heard their cd? try to buy one, am sure you´ll be proud of them. Second, they just modernized the song, which is, i think maganda naman a..... good day, sir!

  • lets promote our culture for education....matago tago tako....safeguard our heritage....

  • i second the motion...

  • Excellent work bro! - William "ukoy" Drummer Petune

  • great guitar solo......pepe smith

  • neat =)

  • igorot rocks..matago tako am-in may na..
