  • As I have posted before, love his forearm smashes - 3 beginning at 0:34!

  • In November 1982, I attended a card in Augusta, GA where Buzz and Johnny faced each other in the main event. Roddy Piper was supposed to be Buzz's opponent, but had been let go. Buzz won the match, but Johnny just wouldn't let him go. Buzz did a beatdown of him, then Butch Reed did a run-in and did a number on Buzz, igniting their feud. Buzz, replacing Matt Borne, had beaten Brad Armstrong earlier. Ditto for Reed over Super Destroyer (Scott Irwin) earlier.

  • Nobody did a powerslam quite like Sawyer.

  • @mongoose704 True there! I love his powerslams I remember waiting for them as a kid and he never disapointed!

  • @carl22069 Not his brother but his cousin.

  • Johnny Rich was too cheap for words.... Buzz rocked!

  • I miss watching Johnny Rich wrestle. I think he was dubbed as the cousin of "Wildfire" Tommy Rich during Tommy's feud with Ted Dibiase in Georgia Championship Wrestling in 1983. Johnny always gave his opponent a run for their money whether he won or lost.

  • This match is almost 30 years old and it's STILL better than the crap that suppsedly passes for wrestling today. I mean really!! Screw WWE! Screw TNA and screw that rundown, bootleg ass ROH! THIS is wrestling! Thanks for the post 1000holds! you f'n rock!!!!

  • @ia74me Being from Shreveport, Louisiana..I watched Mid-South every Saturday, my dad would take me to the Municipal Auditorium to see the matches live.Great memories. I agree 100% that this is WAY better then ANYTHING WWE & TNA do.

  • @CadillacL I used to read about Mid-South wrestling before we finally got their programming. You were truly lucky!!!

  • @ia74me I was indeed. The matches then outdo ANY match in WWE & TNA.

  • A great match in a great video. I remember Johnny Rich particularly during Tommy Rich's feud with Ted Dibiase in Georgia Championship Wrestling in latter 1983.

  • Buzz was an incredible heel, and once he began punishing his victim, it was non stop till he either pinned the man, got a submission, or KO'd him. Being a jobber myself, I would have gladly stepped into the ring and taken his punishments.
