Unless the federal legislature { Congress } makes a law establishing one religion over another then there is NO ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION. That does not mean that the people or individual congressmen cannot practice or live and vote by their faith anymore than it means that an atheist cant practice, live or vote by their non-faith. Your faith is your worldview, and since none of us, religous or atheist, can prove our worldview, then that makes them both to be faiths.

Similarity between Christian beliefs and Islam, for example, are numerous, as too Islam and Judaism (possibly more than some are comfortable with). Any scholar can tell you this is because these religions follow a linage to each other, shared figures, events and teachings.
@legend9923, Sorry, but I would argue that those in power were, or have been, predominantly Christian - which is starkly different from America being founded on actual Christianity. Consider where the United States came from, who built it and the various struggles those peoples went through to carry America on its way. It wasn’t just Christians that built the railways, fought in its wars, suffered in bondage and laboured it’s development.

I don't see why it matters if the constitution was written by christians. Even if they were christians, they were still secularists above all else. Two things.
1.) Insulting the words of Jesus Christ and purposely manipulating passages of the Bible...not a good idea. This man does not speak for me.
2.) I doubt many people know that separation of C and S was to keep the state from telling the church what to do. Not the other way around. We switched somewhere along the way.

Unless the federal legislature { Congress } makes a law establishing one religion over another then there is NO ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION. That does not mean that the people or individual congressmen cannot practice or live and vote by their faith anymore than it means that an atheist cant practice, live or vote by their non-faith. Your faith is your worldview, and since none of us, religous or atheist, can prove our worldview, then that makes them both to be faiths.

@legend9923, Biblical Principles yes, but these are not principles unique to the Christian ideology. In fact most of the main religions have considerable overlaps in their teachings. Similarity between Christian beliefs and Islam, for example, are numerous, as too Islam and Judaism (possibly more than some are comfortable with). Any scholar can tell you this is because these religions follow a linage to each other, shared figures, events and teachings.

Consider where the United States came from, who built it and the various struggles those peoples went through to carry America on its way. It wasn’t just Christians that built the railways, fought in its wars, suffered in bondage and laboured it’s development.

When water heats up it turns to gas(which is so light it isn't not fully *a*ffected by gravity). When this gas rises up at a certain atmosphere it turns to what we know as clouds.
They can come down though, think of fog and mist.

People like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were avid readers of the great philosophers of the European Enlightenment. They treasured the ideas found in the works of such thinkers as Descartes, Voltaire, Bacon and Locke. Most of the founding fathers were Deist, but all of them above all were secular. Read the age of reason from Thomas Paine. Paine is the same man that wrote common sense.

Paine wrote that only though reason can you find God not through scripture. Thomas Paine which was a good friend of Ben Franklin rejected the stories of Jesus Christ. Prior to the 1950s both money and the pledge never contained the words "under god", and the same is true about coins prior to the mid to late 1800s. This is not seperation between church and state... this is seperation of the bible from the state... Obama needs religion to fulfill his plans... the question is which religion? In another speech he said that religion should guide democracy. Enter the new world order, and the new world religion.

I don't see why it matters if the constitution was written by christians. Even if they were christians, they were still secularists above all else. Whether it was to keep one out of the other or the other way around is debatable and irrelevant. As for the devil taking over more, if you are referring to the growing percentage of non religious people, I don't see any reason for you to worry at all. I am assuming you are religious, so that just means more space in heaven for you.

I don't see who exactly is being corrupted by athiests here. Also, if you think the news is nonreligious, go watch Fox. They spew out radical conservative views so much that it can hardly be called a news show anymore. One last thing, people have been predicting the return of christ since he left. If it hasn't happened in the past 2011 years, so I don't see why it should happen at all.
