i really wish these stories were actually journals - i.e. vlogging about the process... the video is of course beautiful... but i'd love to know more :) - i'm visually impaired myself and i have several friends with guide dogs so know just how amazing they can be. glad you're doing this :)
god im sitting here crying with my guide dog Moss licking my face, Since ive had Moss hes changed my life but it must be so hard to let these dogs go. He has his own site on facebook called my guide dog moss. I would just personally like to thank you as a puppy walker for changing the lives of people like me in all that you are doing. x
we're getting our first pup on the coming Wednesday (24th of March) and as a family we are really excited! he's called Blake and is a Lab X Golden Retriever, and he will be 6 weeks and 2 days when we get him x
We are raising our 1st guide dog Farah. She is 6 mo. old now and it's going to be so difficult to give her up, but when I see Farah in her harness- it will be so worth it. This video makes me teary! Thank you and all the other guide dog puppy raisers!
Heather is so beautiful and sweet ! I deeply appreciate all of your hard work and dedication . It is people like you who make this world a better place.
Oh my gosh...my heart is breaking...tears are running down my face...I know that these pups have to go on to do their job, but how HARD must it possibly be to say 'goodbye'??? Does it get easier the more you do it?
I wish I could say it does get easier, but I would be telling you lies.Everytime I watch my video's about my girls it breaks my heart, but I remind myself why I do it.
To know that i have played a small part in hopefully raising a fully qualified Guide Dog,that will enable a blind or partialy sighted person to have more freedom, independance and feel more confident makes it all worth while.
One of my friends is blind and to see the bond between her and her dog,and the difference her girl makes.
That's so amazing to read. I work for Guide Dogs and also volunteer for them and it's awesome to read that these dogs really do change people's lives. You never have a bad day there as you know you are doing really good work.
Im a puppy raiser for seeing eye dogs n we are just about to give back our first puppy.........n i was wondering wat the name of the song on this clip is ?
My wife is a guide dog owner and user, the difference it has made to her self esteem and motivation is amazing, she now can go out in the evening and night time. These dogs are amazing, but the people who look after them in their first steps are the real amazing people.
Just a quick update,HEATHER is now a Fully Qualified Guide Dog,passed on the 13/03/08 at 22mths old,so way to go ~~~~Heather~~~~ and hope she will be a loyal and loving Guide to her new Owner xxxxx
Thank You,Heather is still in Advanced training, but all going well should pass soon, fingers crossed.Guide Dogs in the UK,train wearing a Brown harness and get a lovely new White one when they pass.
I would love to get her back when she retires,i miss her so much, she is a star.
Good luck to you and Dave, keep up the good work!. I will keep you posted on her progress..
God Bless you:)
