Typical over religious nut jobs. It's either their way or no way. They want their message spread to everyone, but as soon as you would like to say what you have to say they want no part of it.
These protesters are horrible. Putting business' out of work. I love how they fight so hard for an unborn fetus, though they have no problem murdering doctors or putting the people that work in these clinics out of work. I recently went to protest the anti abortion protesters- and come to find out they didn't want me there. Told me to leave, that they were the only ones allowed. Police finally settled it by informing them I also had the right to Free Speech just as much as they did.
This is a disgrace to everyone involved with the 40 Days campaign. I will continue to fight for pro CHOICE beliefs and AGAINST narrow- minded right-wing restrictive extremist views such as this. What is this, 1950? You women involved in this should be ashamed that you let yourselves succumb to what is mostly a man's point-of-view. Step up and take responsibility for our community instead of your backwards ways of thinking. I pray God has mercy on YOUR souls.
For your information the first feminist where pro-life. Have you ever heard of Elizabeth Cady Station she wrote all the speeches for Susan B. Anthony. She got the first ant-abortion laws on the book. World wide abortion are more likely to be preformed on an unborn girt then on an unborn boy example china.
It is indisputable that women have innate worth, inalienable rights, and valuable ideas and talents to contribute to society. But women are continually engaged in an ongoing fight for equality with men in all aspects of society. The access to safe and legal abortions allows a woman to have the basic right of controlling her own body....
...(cont) Society has no right to control what happens to a persons body; it does not try to manage mens bodies in such a manner. The right to abortion has equalized women by giving them the right to manage their own bodies - if you are a woman you would understand the importance of this issue. You can sit there and tell me all you want to try and make it sound legitimate, but your grammar is horrendous and you are being astutely unreasonable.
@MissStellaMae And we believe that ALL women have innate worth, inalienable rights, and valuable ideas and talents to contribute to society and should be protected-both in AND OUT of the womb.
And so, innate worth, unalienable rights and valuable ideas should be kicked out the door when a woman's healthcare provider tells her that her own health could be put at risk simply for carrying a child that offers nothing more than a life threatening risk? That's a little backwards, if you ask me.
@MissStellaMae No, but once again, the idea that any pro-lifer would want to see a woman DIE from a life-threatening pregnancy is just utter bullshit. Thanks for helping to propagate the lie though.
Haha - you should be proud that as a woman, other women are fighting for your RIGHT to have RIGHTS. That's what's to be proud about here. It is NOT OK to make women who have to go through this procedure feel bad even more than they already do. You should be proud that there are people out there who are fighting for you to continue to have that.
I have a right as a woman, and as a human being, to support the use of birth control, to support gay marriage, and anything or anyone else I personally CHOOSE to support.
@MissStellaMae It is not a man's point of view. I am a woman. I am college educated. I am very very outspoken and would never let a man put me down. And thats why I hate abortion. It is sexist in the extreme. I have a child. I can attest from the earliest ultrasound at 5 weeks he was a human being and alive. He had a heart beat. Don't be deceived.
I am more than able to respect your opinion and view. Don't think that I am completely naive about this circumstance; I too am pregnant. I am 12 weeks along, and yes, I can hear that little heartbeat. But - that fetus is not able to tell me what it wants - I am its sole decision maker. It cannot breathe air until it is born. ...
Therefore I cannot consider it conventionally alive. Even though it has the potential to be alive - in 9 months if I actually give birth and it takes its first breath, it will then be alive.
Of course not - but this is the sort of backwards thinking and talking points that just revolve in circles and move from the point at hand. Let's stay focused here. This is an adult conversation right? You should be able to stay on topic.
@MissStellaMae Why does this not address the topic at hand? You say that you don't consider an unborn human alive because it can't articulate its wants or needs. So why should that not extend to newborns who also cannot articulate their wants and needs in an specific manner? What about premature newborns? Are they "alive" by your standards? Their lungs sometimes aren't developed enough to breathe independently...
@MissStellaMae The fact that your baby is at your mercy and cannot articulate his/her needs or wants makes you feel as though you have the right and power to end his/her life whenever you see fit? That's certainly some atrocious thinking you have there.
"Whenever I see fit" is when my healthcare provider and myself come to a conclusion that the fetus is putting my own life at risk. And not before then. "Atrocious thinking", i think, consists of the pro-life movement's backwards ways of thinking. I have not seen one of you take into consideration what a woman must go through mentally and physically when a pregnancy turns into a serious medical condition that could put the wellbeing of her own body on the back burner - and that is WRONG.
@MissStellaMae Right...because the majority of abortions are for some reason other than "social reasons". 1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient). And you'll not see ANY pro-lifers protesting the less than 6% to save the mother's life. EVER. It's a popular misconception amongst the pro-choice
@xalisae: Regarding prolifers not protesting the less than 6% to save a mothers life. Not true, there are prolifers that do protest. I know of a catholic forum you can visit that have these protesters. You tube won't let me post it but I can send you the link via pm if you want.
@papercandles Ron Paul is a medical doctor that has delivered over 500 babies. He has said that the "life of the mother" exception is utter tripe, as it rarely happens, and if a pregnancy is ever to the point it is threatening a mother's life, the baby can be delivered, saving the mother's life, and at least having a chance itself.
@xalisae: Regardless, that is something else that had nothing to do with my reply. Interesting enough, can say that my coworker was in that position and the dr said to her husband, "who do you want us to save, the baby or your wife" and he said "both". Luckly, they both survived. Anyway, my reply had to do w/you saying prolifers don't protest the less than 6% to save a mothers life. There are many protesters that do protest that. I can pm you a link if you want.
@papercandles maybe people protest it less if people used that as an excuse less, and doctors pressured people in such situations to have abortions less just to make their jobs easier.
@xalisae: Well, all I am saying is that there are people that do protest it. There are all types of people in this world and unfortunately, not eveyone will agree. Sadly, the abortion debate will never end. :(
@MissStellaMae You'll find that the pro-life movement is made up of mostly women. I'm a woman, and most others I know and speak with are also women. Abortion is age discrimination which kills roughly 2000 prenatal female humans every day.
Age discrimination? The only discrimination that I see happening to cause the excessive rate of abortion is the lack of sex education in outreach and schools, and the pro-life movement's ridiculous ways of making a woman think that an abortion is murder. When a woman does decide to have this procedure done, she should not be scrutinized and made to feel like she just murdered a child standing on the side of the street - she should be educated to make the right, sound decisions in the future.
@MissStellaMae Actually, the Guttmacher Institute, a research arm of Planned Parenthood, recently released a study showing that abstinence education is MORE EFFECTIVE than comprehensive sex ed. (I didn't believe it at first myself, but I read the report, and it's from an abstinence-hostile organization to boot) at preventing STD's and pregnancy in young people. A woman having an abortion is paying a doctor to end her child's life. Period. That's WORSE than just a random child.
NOTHING is more powerful than prayer! I cringe when I hear folks say things like, 'well, all we can do now is pray". Prayer should be our first reaction to adversity. We should also, constinually be thanking Christ through prayer, for the blessings, seen and unseen, bestowed upon us, our loved ones, our country and brothers/sisters worldwide. God bless you that pray ferverently!
azaquihel & lefiont101...this is no more a "religious issue" or an issue of "imposing personal beliefs" than slavery or the civil rights marches in the 60's.
Would you have criticised Rev Martin L King for "imposing his personal beliefs" or religion for insisting that all people have equal dignity? Of course you wouldn't have.
The Pro-Life cause is the same as the Abolitionist cause and the Civil Rights marchers...ALL human beings are worthy of protection.
This is a terrible shame... who are you to decide whether someone else is capable of handling the responsibility that comes with pregnancy. This is a step back for everyone involved.
lefiont101 people like yourself need to change your frame of mind...there are millions of families that are willing to adopt any babies. As you can see churches all over America are organized to help these babies find a loving family.
Praise the Lord!!! I hope that the facility of our late term abortionist here in Colorado will be the next to shut its doors during the next 40 Days for Life campaign.
This is a fantastic video! I pray that more abortion clinics close down, and no more children are killed in the name of "choice". 40 Days For Life isn't over... we are just starting!
