  • He also has a cleaver very nice face

  • My doctor's surname is Coetzee and I'm just here so I know how to pronounce it correctly lol. Seen him quite a few times now and always forgot to ask the correct pronunciation, would feel weird to ask him now.

I know I know, cool story bro.

  • why a wonder to behold? summertime for instance is full of humour.

  • don't get me wrong, I totally agree! Coetzee's wit is hugely underestimated. I think I meant that it was "a wonder to behold" in that it seems that he doesn't often set out to make people laugh in social sitations.

  • I like how a gent with a Nobel Prize (and every other award and honor you can think of)

says,"My name is John Coetzee," as if he's just some guy.

  • If I won a million dollars, I'd spend it trying to get him and Joan Didion into the same room, although I get the weird feeling they'd regard each other like skittish housecats.

  • From what I've heard, these are probably the most consecutive words you will ever hear out of J.M. Coetzee.

  • nah, in his nobel banquet speech he actually almost sort of makes a joke. it's a wonder to behold.

  • @ecp2014 what do you mean? he doesn't like to talk in front of an audience?

  • hi @ecp2014, well Coetzee is only reading in this vid, but see my vid: Beauty has a history 3/3

  • coetzee is a genius

  • Great Author, Special Man of the Arts and Letters

  • Youth is the best book I've ever read
