In my point of view Max has stolen the black on black Pursuit Special. He's no longer a MFP officier. So he shouldn't use those annoying hooters in order to terrorize the Toecutter (evil guy though). So sad that Fifi and his bunch of guys didn't arrest him. Well, Mad Max 2 is to me a totally different film with a totally different Max. In the Road Warrior he's the hero, in the first one he was just a evil guy just like the guys he was fighting with.
@Doublespazer Totally wrong, he was hellbent on revenge, just like 99% of people would be if they had their family and best friend murdered by the same group of guys. In the Road Warrior he's just a bitter asshole whos only forced into helping the others, theres little or nothing heroic about him in the second film.

@ikefemula It's meant to be a reflection of how powerful and fast the "Last of the V8 Intercepters" actually is. No one can get away, thats the symbolism of it anyway.
@ikefemula Retard, it's symbolism. Max is the best driver of the MFP, and he is in their best vehicle. No one escapes!!! THATS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!
@Doublespazer I don't think so... The Falcon GT XB with the 351ci Cleveland (5.8L and 300hp), original, can reach almost 240kph... Imagine an enhanced 600hp version with blower... The KZ1000s ('77 if i'm not wrong) of Toe Cutter, original, is 1.0L (1.015L precisely) with almost 85hp, 250 kilos of weight, and reach almost 210kph... For sure the bike of Toe Cutter was heavily enhanced and modified (same for Goose's bike), but she absolutely can't compete with the black Pursuit Special, for sure...
I had myself a Kawasaki Z 1000 A1 (77) back in the late 80's with fairing and some special modifications and my "Kwaka" was reaching more than 210 Kph. The error that Toecutter did was according too much rights to Bubba Zanetti. A car is definately faster than a bike: Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini prove that. But, well, I got many Bikes ( a Kawasaki ZZ-R 1100) and I'm still there to say that Bikes should own cars ...
@MrAlucard222 My Kz with a Fairing I've gotten it up to 223KPH, Mine's a LTD, not as modded as Toe Cutters or any of that. But yea in a straight line that 351 with a blower is going to catch the bike. NOW throw a Modern Sports bike like a BUSA in there, Well that's a different question :P.
O.K so Max is right on Toe cutters ass, just before the head on with the semi.He was less than a car length away from the bike seconds before impact, So where did Max go when Toecutter became a KW hood ornament? Did he magically jump over the wreck or what?? Anybody else notice this blooper?
@Statimtek If you look closely right as TC hits the front of the semi you can see Max veering to the left of the road ( on the grass). His car looks like a flash but you can see it.
I think Mel Gibson at one time was a really good actor. Actually he probably still is, but all the drama that surrounds his life has taken all his thunder. I remember when I was a kid, if you knew mel was in a movie, you figured it was gonna be a good movie. Too bad. I own all three Mad Max movies. The third one sucks ass. Boo Tina Turner.
@netlord - at the end of the scene, we see Max pull from the dirt back onto the road. You have to fill in with your mind that he went off the road - in full control of his car - slowed it down and pulled back onto the road while surveying Toecutter's guts. I'm with the other posters: 2 things killed Toecutter: 1.) The Kenworth and; 2.) Toecutter's eyes popping out of his head. Just a thought...
looks like there was some of kind of shield on the front of the truck, my guess is so they would not damage the front end. This was a very low budget movie. I read that they wanted to crash more cars but did not have the money to do it.
His eyes just BUG on out there! In the Road Warrior, a similar fate for the two captured guys who were tied to the front of Lord Humungus's car. They hit the tanker when Mel slams on the brake! I watched that one a couple times, it's really shot well
Actually in real life it really WAS put through hell!!! they didn't think of saving the car so they had it "junked" well thankfully the guy that they brought it to saved it sorta but by the time the 3rd movie rolled along there was pretty much nothing original left of it...so these repro's you see in many videos on here are more "movie" correct then the real movie car! there is a site someplace that has pictures of the original in its current state.
i dont think so.. i mean when i saw the movie i was let down when i saw him. i was hoping for a badass like toe cutter to be night rider but instead he was just some inbred hick with his girlfriend.....
I like the movie...the only part, to this day, that still bothers me is his eyes almost removing themselves entirely from his face the moment before he dies.
yea forgotten about that bit, its been YEARS that ive seen the movie, I remember this, long with the 2nd one, being very well done, its a shame that we Australian dont make them like this any more

only reason the car has any chance (power to weight ratio) is 'cus it's supercharged and the hiway is fairly straight.
