TM 5.1 Hi-Capa Complete Disassembly Part 2

My hi cappa is having trouble blowing back all the way. I'm not sure why it won't. It blows back just far enough to pull the hammer off the valve, but not far enough to reset the cycle. I end up having to pull the slide back to fire another shot. I figured putting a new spring in would fix the problem, but it didn't. Any suggestions?

What should i do when my slide gets little stuck but not too hard when i slowly move the slide. When i let the slide move fast like it should then its okay.

i made the mistake of trying to disassemble my gun without looking into how its built (wouldnt be the first time) and i ended up taking down litterally every piece because everytime i tried to put something back on i dropped another spring or something and had to go one layer deeper. on the bright side, an hour and a half WASNT wasted because i now know exaclty how each and every piece works on the gun.

.. I tried to reassemble the gun and I tried it many times, but the hammer didnt either lock back or the trigger did not work. For a dark moment I thought my trusted back up gun was broken but with the help of your video I was able to reassemble the pistol and now it works as well as it did earlier!

Mine runs out of gas after a few shots.

I tried to put metal tabs in different positions but it hardly made difference (I also forgot how bent they were in the first place).

Also, changing mags and most of the parts from upper half (not mentioning things like cleaning/putting grease on the sucker) did no good.

This gun hates me.

Just as a clarification for those who don't entirely understand the last part of the video. The second, and longest, prong should be on top of the tab and not below it. When you're looking at the internals it should be apparent what I'm talking about.

Does the bolt which is holding the hammer spring have to be precise or can you use any screw that fits in there? (Won't drop easily). I have lost the original when I dropped my gun and now it has the thing on the hammer that you said on 4:30

I had a problem a few months back , so i handed the gun to my dad, and within a few minutes he had fixed it (hes an engineer)

but it happened again just now, and without this vid i would have been fucked, cos my dads in the north sea, and i have a game next week

Im currently remodeling my Hi Capa and I am having trouble removing the trigger from the rectangular frame so I can put in a different one. There seems to be a small pin keeping the trigger on the frame but I cant seem to take it off. anyone Know what to do?

Hey man, i had the same problem. its the mag release button. on the opposite side of the button itself, just twist the little knob thats in the mag release and it should come out.

ive never encountered that problem before but it sounds like the trigger is not disengaging, take the slide off and look at the inside of the grip, pull the hammer back and push down the little silver tab that pops up on the left side of the hammer, then pull the trigger and hold it and cock the trigger again, if the falls with the trigger still held then it sounds like the sear is broken

@TheEarthwalker I am having a very similar problem with my TM 4.3, when i rack the slide the hammer does not stay back it jst comes forward, and it sometimes stays back if cocked by my thumb. the half cock also is not working. It seems that the trigger is not going back all the way when pressed. please tell me if you know the problem. thanks

@TheEarthwalker My 13 year old son recently disassembled his WE 5.1 gun and it now is now only shooting one time and then it releases all the gas after the shot. I am following your video to disassemble the bottom portion and there seems to be something not quite right....the part on this video where you say you really dont want to disassemble because it is very difficult to get back together right...well thats the part that is disassembled...any way you can show me how to assemble that part?

@collinblondy12 your leaf spring (in the video he calls it the hammer spring) isnt put in properly or it is bent. you can either fix it, bend it back or just get a new spring (around 5 bucks) just search "WE Hicapa Sear Spring WE 1911 Leaf Spring" and click the airsoft outlet NW link.

take a look at the picture of the three metal tabs and compare it to yours if you havent already, they have to be in the same position as the ones in the pic

I need help at 2:04 i disassembled my hi-capa where you said not to :) I didn't want to by when i was cleaning the lower receiver a spring came out and 2 little stick like things and i took it apart but i have no idea where to put tehm and how to put i back together. Please help ;) Thanks:)

if you took off the safety lever then if you remove it again youll see on the left side of the gun a small hole that runs through to the slide catch, the short pin goes in first, then the spring, then the longer pin, then replace the safety lever, the pins and spring are what put tension on the safety and slide catch to keep them from moving freely, you may have noticed that its extremely easy to move the safety lever

Ok I spent 5+ hours trying to reassemble the grip and frame, on my 4.3 and finally got it done. Basicly you need the slightly bent pin on the right on top of the silver thing that pushes the "hammer lock" forward (don't know what else to call it). The middle pin goes on TOP of the black "hammer lock", that is being pushed forward by the silver thing.

if i buy a Guarder Enhanced Recoil / Hammer Spring 150% how will it change the gun?

it will increase the FPS because the hammer will strike the gas release valve harder resulting in more gas released, youll get more gas consumption though, the recoil spring will compensate for the extra gas in the blowback cylinder and youll also have a slightly stiffer and quicker recoil

by the pin behind the ambi safety, if your looking at the left side of the gun, the side with the mag release and slide release, is the pin your refering to behind the actual lever part and is only visible when the safety is on? and you can only engage that safety when the pistols hammer is cocked. as for the beavertail, mine stopped working after a while so i think its something caused by wear, i havent found a way to fix it yet

not that i'd reccomend doing it, but if you look at the picture in the video of those three tabs behind the grip safety, either flatten the top of the left most tab, or just cut it off if you want a permanent solution

I looked at the exploded diagram of the parts in the manual and knew it was to do with the metal prongs, but didn't know why it wouldn't work.. with the help of your picture and this video, i now have a fully functional gun again! :-P

Is it easy to take the safety catch out? Thinking of replacing mine with chrome ones, just thought I'd get some advice before taking a screwdriver to it.

yep, very easy, remove the slide, cock the hammer, flip the safety up all the way and wiggle the left side off, be careful cuz theres a little pin in front of the safety that may go flying off, after that the right side just slides out

good tutorial. today i accidentally removed the pin and the bottom of the grip on my we tech hi capa dragon and a whole bunch of crap started falling off. It took about an hour to reassemble, so yeah, like you said, im never going past that point again.
