i noticed you said you don't believe in refilling ink cartridges, i agree on your coments about printers, but i don't agree on what you say about refilling as i use a ciss on my epson px700w for almost 2 years now, it's a lot less hassle as you don't have to keep replacing cartridges which cost a fortune, i would never go back to original cartridges again, so far i've saved a lot of money, the new ciss continous ink supply systems available to buy now are so much better than they used to be.
I have now a Kodak ESP 9250 AIO. It's great for the most part, even the ink is cheap! But the printouts can be a little off color when you print in color. Since I print mostly text, I might try a laser printer when the Kodak inevitably fails on me.
Lexmark printers are a pile of shit, They charge £60 for a brand new all in one wireless printer, Sounds good yeah?
The thing they don't tell you is that a new full ink cartridge also costs £60 Each time you run out of ink, You cannot refill them as they have chips on them which, once you take the cartridge out, disables you from making it ever work again, regardless of ink level
@zoics1....Yes you can print color documents, I have a Hp 5550n color printer that prints excellent color documents and photos. You just have to by the right photo paper that the copier recommends. I'm a copier tech, and I see customers wasting money on inkjet printers all the time. The yield on inkjet printers is based on the coverage that it uses on the page, which is very little compared to the yield on a laser printer cartridges which can be anywhere from 2000 pages to 6000,depends on model.
@lockergnome currently we own the Kodak ES7 series which we've had for over 2 years now and I have to say its a pretty good wireless, all in one printer/scanner that I would recommend to anyone
got myself a canon pixima pro1 for $700 in november by far the bast thing i've ever had but for that price it better be..
also use a canon mp-560 for everything else, wireless has its issues on my home network though.. it likes to revoke both of my laptops from printing anything & doesn't even show up sometimes as a connected printer.
Don't you love it when inkjet printers always report that there is less ink in the cartridge then there actually is, and how it can't print at all if you have only one color missing, even though all you want to print is some black text?
Fuck you HP and all you others for doing that! I'm not buying shit from you ever again!
Laser printers are the best way to go. Don't go with inkjet printers because you spend a ton on cartridges, that's why inkjet printers are so cheap, they get you on the cartridges!
@davmrls I didn't know that until I read your comment! Can you print color documents and an occasional picture quality photo with a lazer printer? Thanks.
Which printer is adequate for someone who only prints text, but don't need it often? I really don't like the sound of dry ink whenever I need to use the printer.
Will laser solve that? Or have ink printers fixed this issue?
Hey Chris, can you please turn you microphone volume up? I live in a house that has a reasonable amount of noise and it's rather hard to hear you at times.
I personally like the 2 printers I own right now. I have a Lexmark Pro 901 that I strictly use for printing documents because the ink are only $5. When I want to do Photo's (of my kids, or sporting events I use my Canon Mg6220.
One very important thing is to easily get it on the internet, and it should be almost plug and play, no 6 different software that must be running at all time. ofc Compatible with windows 7 and hopefully with Windows 8 when it arrives. Thanks!
I've had so many problems with my HP printer, I think it's a HP Color LaserJet CM1017 or something like that. Firstly, the software just sucks, any later update than the CD version WILL make you unable to use anything else than print and copy, so no scan. So now we only have the vista software and drivers... and my machine is windows 7, sure the software works, but I can't put it out on the internet because the driver is apparently not there, and now it suddenly won't even speak to my PC. HP= :(
I have had so many different types of printers. I started with an old 1998 Epson ink printer i don't remember what was wrong with it but it 2003 we got a ink Dell printer/scanner/fax in 2010 I got a new computer and I couldn't get the drivers to work so I got an HP ink printer/scanner/fax with wireless. In 2012 it just got a paper jam so I bought a Canon Pixma ink printer/ scanner. It also has wireless with an iOS app. That's my printer history, great video Chris!
Brother all in one MFC printers have impressed me the last few years, they make owning an efficent, high quality duplex A3 printer so cheap. Especially when you were never considering an A3 in the first place!
Software has allways been a consideration for me, so much so that i will no longer touch HP. It is ridiculous how much is embedded in the full HP install package. No I dont want your awful HP Yahoo web print tool bar.
If money is no object I would purchase OKI laser every time.
My brother has the best printer for me, incidentally. Really simple. You just hook it up to your laptop and the fucker works - a Canon PMX600 or something like that?
@Zhx12 Who the fuck put a gun to your head and made you watch em all? If you don't want to, don't bother, but don't annoy the shit out of everyone else bitching about something you CHOSE to view. Cunt.
Been watching his videos for a looooooooooong time, have never once commented on ANY video or really any other peoples videos but this one deserved a comment, the printer imitation had me LOLing in real life, fucking hilarious.
"Don't mess with refilling" if you plan on printing any of the nice photos you take on your new canon I'd hope you'd reconsider that statement. For the price, print size, quality and again price the Canon pro-9000 is an unbelievably fantastic printer. The idea of not refilling my own cartridges makes me want to cry for I would be broke.
Laser, laser, laser! They cost quite a bit to start, but in the long run, they are CHEAP to operate. $70 laser Samsung has lasted me almost a year, still on the starter toner after 300 pages printed (B/W only) Think of it as buying a Diesel vs Gasoline car.
Canon iEPP app is pretty good, and the print quality on the Canon MG6150 is amazing, photo quality with the right photo paper. Only draw back is the Ink cost as it's costly and doesn't last long. Visit me @ pcportal.com

So my criteria for purchasing a printer is kinda fucked up, but bear with me. The simple fact about printers is that ALL of them have a fatal flaw.
For example: Ink cartridges are more expensive than the printer or It can't print green correctly at all, EVER.
My criteria is very simple, what major flaw am I willing to live with. It's made shopping for printers really easy.

@bmw2go11 I agree, but there's a few problems:
1: People see the cost of toner and flip out, even though its FAR cheaper in the long run.
2: In order to get a good quality color laser you have to spend upwards of $500.
3: You have to spend even more to get color laser AND good wireless features.
