Just ordered a palm pre plus for free from verizon. I am 4 months early for my 2 year upgrade and I was still able to get it free. Definitely a good deal cant go wrong when its free, only thing is you will have to sign another 2 year contract.
@boatfreak009 they discontinued the blackberry tour, but i would suggest getting the blackberry bold...i started to get the palm pre but it got bad reviews and plus i played with one and the keys are waaay to small

I recently found out that the Pre+ isn't sold in Canada, and no indication that it will be in the near future... total bummer. We get the regular Pre but... that plus just makes all the difference. Especially since it looks like the iPhone 4 will be released in Canada very soon.

@celticslova I had a bb pearl and paid $30 for internent on the phone and another $30 to use it as a modem. With the Pre I get both for $30. I have internet on my phone and I can use it as a modem for my computer and save the extra $30.
well its only 100 for the phone itself but its 30 extra each month for the data plan, and if you want the unlimited txt and talk, well thats another estimated 80 to 90 a month.
sticking with palm pre..pre plus is just the same..the hardware is a lttle bit updated.. other than that it still runs just the same. no need to waste money on it.. unless your switching from sprint to verizon

The 3GS is still my favorite phone, and this one is the second, I really dont like android phones, i think they suck, I hate too much different devices and trademarks, its starting to look like symbian.. iPhone and webOS pwns everything.
And btw i prefere wait for 3 sec and switching apps instantly then had to open a close many apps because no multitasking. That will cost to you many times then the 3 sec you pointed...
The point of WebOS is to leave cards open. Initial boot up is slow (not even slow, not iPhone fast) but once its open, if you go to the icon it pops up immediatly.
Mr. Thug, I actually happen to know that. It takes 0 time to load an application that is already running, because there is no loading involved.
And I've been multitasking all the apps I want on my iPhone 3GS and still loading apps 10x faster than the Palm Pre. It's called jailbreaking, it takes approximately 20 seconds. :/
upgrade price of course depends on your contract. But I believe the Pre Plus will be $199, while the Pixi plus will be either $99 or $149. Just an educated guess.
see thing that tmobile is the better carrier. is the fact that all there phones can you use different sim cards around the world and cheaper prices. i mean the droid from verizon is awesome but if you were to move out of country it is dead. or traveling i mean the rates for verizon are expensive.
you can buy virtually any phone unsubsidized that is a horrible argument as to why t mobile is better. Verizon isnt really that expensive I can give 10$ more a month to get better service.
This was their way of holding on for being a major network and guess what NOW its gone. The verizon has the pre PLUs, AND the DROID, AND THE ERIS!!! Sprint literally has NO chance in staying alive unless they step up their game. Everyone says their gunna merge with tmobile but that seems impossible because its CDMA is sprint and tmobile is GSM is tmobile. IDK. But what I do know is that the ONLY thing sprint has right now thats saving them is their plans. Some of them are cheaper.
2010 is Sprints year! Palm will drop them an all new phone...of course better than those prepixies,also the phone of the year (perhaps)...Supersonic 4g wimax phone w/Android! All I have to say is ...save up!

What is wrong with sprint?! They finally get a decent phone(palm pre) and soon as it has a sequel, sprint cant keep palm's attention. Verizon not only has this phone, but also the google Nexus One and in October they will have the iphone. Sprint is releasing Overdrive 3G/4G hotspot. Great! You'll have fast internet in the limited coverage that sprint provides. If you are debating on what carrier to use, get verizon. They have the best phones and coverage. Dont get stuck with sprint like me.
I agree with you about sprint because they ripped me off when I was with them always putting bogus charges on my bill because they told me that all this stuff was going to be free for the first mouth and they still had the nerve to put it on my first bill. The first bill was almost $900 of bogus charges and when I called Sprints C S after waiting on hold for over an hour the lady told me if the charges are on my bill that means I have to pay for them how rude of her.
it definately looks like its missing something now they have got rid of the button my opinion is that it was a bad idea to do that palm! thats why i hate the pixi is because of all that area that looks blank

Looks like it STILL takes 3+ seconds to open applications. In this case, email.
Disappointing.
If you watch the iPhone 3GS, Droid, or Nexus One, loading apps is virtually instant, especially email.

It's a VERY big deal when you open your email app 10 or 20 times a day. It can get fucking frustrating. Trust me.

And btw i prefere wait for 3 sec and switching apps instantly then had to open a close many apps because no multitasking. That will cost to you many times then the 3 sec you pointed...

That's why we have proswitcher for iPhone. A near exact replica of WebOS's Card UI and it's faster too. Suck on that.

The point of WebOS is to leave cards open. Initial boot up is slow (not even slow, not iPhone fast) but once its open, if you go to the icon it pops up immediatly.

Mr. Thug, I actually happen to know that. It takes 0 time to load an application that is already running, because there is no loading involved.
And I've been multitasking all the apps I want on my iPhone 3GS and still loading apps 10x faster than the Palm Pre. It's called jailbreaking, it takes approximately 20 seconds. :/

upgrade price of course depends on your contract. But I believe the Pre Plus will be $199, while the Pixi plus will be either $99 or $149. Just an educated guess.

see thing that tmobile is the better carrier. is the fact that all there phones can you use different sim cards around the world and cheaper prices. i mean the droid from verizon is awesome but if you were to move out of country it is dead. or traveling i mean the rates for verizon are expensive.

you can buy virtually any phone unsubsidized that is a horrible argument as to why t mobile is better. Verizon isnt really that expensive I can give 10$ more a month to get better service.

SPRINT SUCKS
This was their way of holding on for being a major network and guess what NOW its gone. The verizon has the pre PLUs, AND the DROID, AND THE ERIS!!! Sprint literally has NO chance in staying alive unless they step up their game. Everyone says their gunna merge with tmobile but that seems impossible because its CDMA is sprint and tmobile is GSM is tmobile. IDK. But what I do know is that the ONLY thing sprint has right now thats saving them is their plans. Some of them are cheaper.

I don't know . . . I think Palm will release the Pre 2 at some point, and the hardware might be a little different . . . i'm not sure if it would be smart for Palm to release a radically different model though, because they're just now penetrating the foreign markets . . . whatever

For all of those who keep saying Verizon is stealing Sprints ideas....they announced that the Pre was coming to Verizon when it was launched on Sprint originally. This is just a refined version that PALM, not Verizon, but PALM designed for Verizon. Seriously chill...

If the Pre Plus will directly complete against the iPhone 3GS, then I'm guessing it will be priced at around the $199 mark.

@MajorTechFan Remember, though, that it was around $149 I think on Sprint and that on Amazon it was going for $80.
Also remember that Verizon has some really awesome smartphone deals in place (buy a blackberry, get one free, Droid Eris for $99, and so on) so expect a price lower than $199

What is wrong with sprint?! They finally get a decent phone(palm pre) and soon as it has a sequel, sprint cant keep palm's attention. Verizon not only has this phone, but also the google Nexus One and in October they will have the iphone. Sprint is releasing Overdrive 3G/4G hotspot. Great! You'll have fast internet in the limited coverage that sprint provides. If you are debating on what carrier to use, get verizon. They have the best phones and coverage. Dont get stuck with sprint like me.

I agree with you about sprint because they ripped me off when I was with them always putting bogus charges on my bill because they told me that all this stuff was going to be free for the first mouth and they still had the nerve to put it on my first bill. The first bill was almost $900 of bogus charges and when I called Sprints C S after waiting on hold for over an hour the lady told me if the charges are on my bill that means I have to pay for them how rude of her.
