like in the previous mass effect, i did the renegade ending once just to explore the plot. It's not a moral point to refuse Reaper tech: if there is one thing both games desperately try to teach you, it's that every single attempt to exploit it ends horribly.
Saving the base is really renegade because Cerberus is somewhat with the reapers. In ME3 reapers will take back control of the facility and you will need to take it how
You have to take into consideration that you are now using Metagaming to justify your reasons. If anything, a Fable outlook of having to do evil to save everyone at the expense of everyone's opinion and trust of the leader would prove nice. While doing good should make you work your ass off to compensate (or lose more) for the loss of technology, but the alliances and friendships to make up. Just saying.
@Stupious well.... it's the right choice if you think about it as keeping the best possible way to win the war but the reason to why this ending is the renegade one is because millions of human lifes needs to get sacrificed to build one of the human reapers that you kill inside that base.
i have one pragmatic shepard, what doing everything against reapers, he sacrificed the council (although all aliens in ME2 hate humanity, galaxy is a militarily stronger than with council), rachni queen, but also collectors base...all what is necessary against the reapers, paragon or renegade, it doesnt matter :)
darn, I sent legion through the vent both times, and I had everything upgraded etc, but he still got a collector bullet through his lamp (head lol). but on everything else I've gotten a full score. sucks, cus I really like legion ^^ my fourth-favorite character ^^ (just so interesting to peer inside the mind of a completely different race)
Depends on who the fireteam leader was...If its not Jacob, Miranda or Garrus, the tech specialist will die. Also, it'd be best if you make sure he's loyal... Loyalty lowers the chance of a character death in the final bit along with all the upgrades to the ship!
Shepard's leap reminds me of those Gatorade commercials. After beating it, I have expected him to freeze in mid-air, look at the 'Camera' and say ''Is it in you?''
Did anyone notice that that kind of sun that is behind the illusive man, if u do the paragon ending that sun is blue, and when u do the renegade ending the sun its red?
I read somewhere that the Hanar appear to be Intellectually inferior, and thus not advanced enough for the Reapers to want to harvest. But if you pay attention to your conversations with Thane, he mentioned that the Hanar are much more than what they appear on their homeworld. They also had the ability to mass evac the Drell homeworld with Spaceflight. So who knows, but they are 50,000 Years old in existence. (First game, there's a reference I believe). Squid Reapers maybe a knock on lovecraft.
not really if you give really more atention to the endings the real question is how the hell in the dead shepard +renegade ending the illusive man send 5 ships to the collector base because the ships will need the colector iff and illusive man send shepard to get 1 collector iff how the hell he got other 5 for send the ships , and the face that he got in that moment.... that is the real question lol what the hell is he thinking.
@spikeargentina The purpose of the IFF is to not get attacked by the drones and other Collector machines in the area, along with giving you safe passage through the debris. But you just detonated a nuclear device clearing away much of the debris and any drones left. Thus you wouldnt need an IFF to safely pass through the relay anymore.
The true question to the ending is...if reapers are made in the image of the species harvested to create them...then WHAT SPECIES did Sovereign, Harbinger, and the rest of the reapers get made in the image of?
@kazoodac ah very true but the reapers kind of look like the hanar but that doesn't really make much sense if they were the ones who were harvested. Guess we'll find out in Mass Effect 3.
Not likely. It was said that the reapers most likely attempted to make new reapers with prothean genetic material, but it was a failure. Instead they enslaved the remaining protheans and turned them into the collectors.
Interesting, but I much prefer the paragon ending. It's more satisfying to watch the place go down in flames and deny the Illusive Man of his prize. Greedy bastard.
@toms1266 Yeah Renegade seems too much like you are a tool for the Illusive man but the paragon ending makes it seem like you just helped start a rebellion against the Illusive man and made the world a better place
@connorkwl -- Obviously you wern't paying attention or you havn't played the game up to this point yet:
The reaper in this video isn't a full reaper, but more specifically a Human-Reaper Larva. As the name suggests, half of it's embodiment is made from organic material whilst the other is synthetic.
another thing u guys may want to redo is if u have a save file before the collectors ambush and kill your crew re upload it once the crew are kidnapped and shepard returns straight away access the omega 4 if u do that all crew will survive
I though I read that you can still explore the worlds/ do side quests after you finished the game but this ending seems to indicate otherwise... can anyone clarify?
I agree with you 100%. I still cant believe how awesome the ending is and how well the song fits it. 0Antar0, thanks for the post, I had legion at the vent, miranda as 1st squad leader, garrus as 2nd squad leader, sent grunt to accompany survivors and chose samara for biotic shield. I also had no casualties. The theory that if you dont send Mordin to accompany survivors he dies is false.
it'll be like doctor who in that theyll discover some form of weakness and exploit it or some superweapon will become available it doesnt take much imagination i was dissapointed on how little my decisions made an affect in ME2 i saved the council but you only speak with them once,

Their leader being controlled by the Harbinger (a reaper) all along :/

Their entire species genetically modified from the Protheans, and cybernetically enhanced to be drones.

It's morally the wrong choice. If anything you need to view Paragon like..Batman would.

Batmans Plot armor would let him get away with paragon.

@Stupious Because it undermines the trust humanity built up around the galaxy and secures their dominance over the other species.
