although this story has a happy ending I sure hope Dozer's people do a better job of keeping him IN THE YARD - for his own safety. it's just absurd how people are so negligent in keeping their animals safe.

@jbage007 I don't think Dozer's family meant for their dog to escape and I don't think you have the right to accuse them as being negligent. Goldendoodles are extremely smart animals. My Goldendoodle actually learned how to jump high enough over his invisible fence and he ran away numerous times.

I must say, Buy a proper fence, or at least don't torture your dog by leaving him in the yard only contained with a shock collar while a marathon goes by your house, sure it ended up being a cute story, but Dozer could of just as easily gotten hit by a car. Congratulations for raising so much money so far.

just read the news story on him,he got through the "electronic"fence at home and started running with the people at around mile 5 mark(of a 13 mile marathon)he would get drinks at the water stations,the other runners assumed he was with sombody.As you see he completed the race ,they gave him a participation medal and thus far has received $1900.00 in pledges!good job Dozer
