  • i'd like to see who's playing the main song too~

  • When I write with my computer keyboard, I feel like playing for him o_O

  • sucks

  • no teeths but good at music :))

  • oh my god..THANK YOU FOR THAT FUCKIN PIANO RIFT!!!!!!!!

  • DOMINOS PIZZA!

  • Sorry fats waller

  • So is this Albert ammons or fats domino? Half you think its either one.

  • he stole this from hugh lauree

  • @samhopkins1 ahahahhaa!!!

  • @samhopkins1 I think you mean the other way..

  • awesome ;)

  • pity the sound is not in sync with video though.

  • pity the sounds is not in sync with video though.

  • Albert Ammons forever! He played so easily! Unforgetable! His "swanee river boogie" now is a standard in the repertory of all boogie piano player! Justin Bieber???? Should I know him! I don't think so!!!!"

  • Albert Ammons forever! He played so easily! Unforgetable!

  • Good

  • Beautiful, fantastic music.

They don't write it like this anymore!

  • I listened to this great man on the Nashville clear channel station back around 1960. I still love it.

  • 12 haters are justin bieber fans

  • @MrM4sterchief Don't talk about Justin Beiber on an old classic like t his it's disrespectful!

  • Giving my age away - but this was hot when I was in High school. That one was piano solo. I think this one was done with the "Rythm Kings"

  • "More important of all are his remarkable smile and his remarkable hands..."

His nickname was "The Left Hand of God."

  • Yep this is Fats Waller.

  • hey dummy this isn't the music for the video

  • This is not what they are playing as crankbv1 says, it dubbed in over one of the greatest ywo players who ever lived Boogie Woogey dream WHY ???????

  • yyyyyyyiiiiiiaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh Fats Dominoooooo I loveeeee your Piano Play God.......I m so happy if I hear that .........

  • What shit!! Yes the music is great and so was AA, but this video does NOT represent what he was playing! God I wish we could hear what he was actually playing here. This is overdubbed. (Sorry)

  • @scooterpiepiano there is a video of that on here. on a show with lena horne...

  • i adore his facial expressions

  • Does Erroll Garner get his smile from him ?

  • It's Albert Ammons, the father of Gene Ammons

  • It that Fats Waller? Looks like him.

How can you post this and not give his name?

  • @aristopus its not fats waller. waller didnt play boogie woogie but stride piano

  • @aristopus What a great talent! Imagine going for a job in a night club or lounge somewhere locally and out pouring this energy.

  • what is the guy at the beginning actually playing?

  • @jfsa380 If you look behind Albert you can just see another piano player. This is Pete Johnson. They got together to play a well known piece of theirs called Boogey Woogey Dream. You'll see the film clip almost opposite in the listings and it matches perfectly. Speaking of which, the introduction by the woman is nothing short of downright patronising and a sad reflection of the times.

  • @crankbv1 so albert and pete are playing the boogey woogey dream, but the film director didn't get the memo and put in the wrong clip?

  • @jfsa380 Hallo, thanks for your comment re mine on Swanee River boogie. Not sure what you mean by a memo. But l have seen this happen before, where video clips don't match the soundtrack. There is one of Meade Lux Lewis where what we see and what he's actually playing are different. Perhaps the piece was from a recording which was never filmed and the provider was just showing the artist in one that was as a means to an end. Either way...damned good stuff l reckon !

  • @crankbv1 the memo was that the music director chose this song, not another, but the film director didn't get it

  • perfection

  • Denis Mazhukov plays best Swanee river!!!

  • I LOVE THE MUSIC

  • I hate when people talk about the people who press dislike ... but honestly how can you not like this?!?!?!?!

  • aw yes albert ammons is the true boogie king anybody who disagrees has no taste in boogie whatsoever

  • OK.. fat boy U de best... that right hand is magic!!!

  • i sure like this song

  • very good

  • Back in the late 40' and early 50' a DJ at radio station in Nashville,Tn WLAC named HOSS ALLEN used Swanee River Boogie as his opening. Being a kid back then I sent a letter and simply asked Mr. Allen if he would play the entire record on-air one night for me since he only played maybe 15-20 seconds for his lead-in, and he did.. I sent him another letter thanking him for doing my request. Little did I know he would play the full song once a week and dedicate it to me.. HOSS ALLEN a great person

  • I might have met you in Brugge, Belgium when I played with King Ernest. Love this version.. Carl "Sonny" Leland and I play together sometimes.

    Johnny Morgan

  • Where on earth did you find this Film Clip .????? Fantastic -I didn't even think they had any Recordings on Film back then 30's and 40's wow excellent -thank you for posting this ..Cheers From Canada

  • Nejlepší!!!!!BEST :D

  • muitissimo bom!!!1

  • WOW! :-)

  • Whats the other instrument, anyone knows?

  • @kralyk311 i think its a kind of guitar

  • He was a great musician. So much fun to hear and watch him. He was in love with his music. LuckyLuca99 has a great Swanee video, also. Luca is the next great Boogie star, I think.

  • I love his funny faces and off corse...

    HIS MUSIC

  • @Bumblebee38 Hey! I'am a dentist. At your age you probably have dentures!

  • @Bumblebee38 That's strange? With a personality like yours, it's a wonder you haven't had all of your teeth knocked out by someone you insulted....So don't push your luck....

  • I'm pretty sure I'd give My left nut to be able to play this song like that!

  • Its a pity this stuff has been dubbed.

  • Boogie Woogie Dream -Albert Ammons & Pete Johnson is the REAL Tune they are playing

  • Comment removed

  • I love the guitar accompagnement. Who is playing?

  • Love the facials

  • how the time has changed from this music to rap, rock, and heavy metal. i say there is bearly any music that compares with this classics besides: ragtime, dixie, foxtrot, western, and folk

  • its the beez knees lol

  • Man ,he has grease lighting movement in those fingers

  • Genial!!!

  • What talent! Gets your feet to movin!!

  • wow even its not real video this guy must be good at typing damn look at THOSE finger holly shit

  • Just to staighten all the confusion...This is video of Boogie Woogie Dream by Albert Ammons(left) and Pete Johnson(right)

  • Thank you for clearing that up. I was about to say the same thing, because even though Pete Johnson's face wasn't being shown it's from the same show where they played "Boogie Woogie Dream" and you can see Pete's hands on the piano next to Ammons.

  • Wait a durn minute, He isn't really playin that thing......

  • why dont you read the info???

  • piano teeth!

  • Ammons was a sublime player, but why did the man have to pull those idiotic faces? I much prefer Pete Johnson's brooding look.

  • He was tryin' to make a buck .

  • Genial!!!

  • I love boogie woogie piano! I'm starting to teach myself. Can't get over how good it sounds

  • best boogie ever, but doesn't match with video...

  • look to wall and listen!

  • 피아졸라께서 프랑스유학 1,2학년시절에

    작곡하시고 연습하시던 곡입니다

  • One of the masters, great music. Anyone not likeing this cannot love swing or jazz.

  • does anybody know if jerry lee lewis did a version of it? i have heard a version in the concert with fats domino ray charles and jerry lee but i dont know whos playing the piano. can someone help me?

  • All of them are playing together, its from" Fats With Friends", N.O., I think 1985.

  • HAHAHA!

  • Thıs was a replay to oldrockandrollero.

  • This remarkable fellow plays as the happiest Man in the world...

The teeth has no any meaning in this case...

More important of all are his remarkable smile and his remarkable hands...

    He is a Great Musician...

  • coolest ever

  • What a classic.

  • boogie woogie is still alive

  • Peace...

  • This remarkable fellow plays as the happiest Man in the world...

The teeth has no any meaning in this case...

More important of all are his remarkable smile and his remarkable hands...

    He is a Great Musician...

  • this guy got really terribley ugly crocked teeth

untill now i have only heard Ray Charles's version.

    but this is way better!!!!!!!

  • listen to Fats Domino´s version, you find it on youtube!

  • Those that set the bar...Eeco is keeping that alive.

  • happiest music ever!!!

  • Soberbio, no paro de escucharlo

  • Heavenly boogie-music. Fabulous.

  • This the video from Boogie Woogie Dream-Albert Ammons & Pete Johnson.

This piece is not being played anywhere near the speed of the piece from the video.

It's just a relaxed version of Swanee River Boogie, well done too...

  • Fantastic really, it's the first time I see this. Thanks for sharing.

  • this song is too much beautiful

  • he plays like he plays the easiest song on earth...

    he is very relaxed...

  • No one but Albert had that swayback easygoing style--so satisfying, so precise, so tuneful so bloody BRILLIANT!!!

  • awesome.

  • Is this film reversed? Aren't the lower notes to the left on a piano. Doesn't matter though, it's fantastic.

  • I think he does, but maybe not in the film that has been used to produce this. There aren't that many film clips around from 1946. The info text states "No it's not a real video!!!".

  • This man is NOT playing Swanee River. Just sing along with it , and you will notice his right hand is playing someting else!!

  • this is incredable just leave it at that

  • The BEST ONE. Thx a lot...

  • I cannot understand, that in former times obviously nobody had the idea to film Ammons & Co. by his own. Thousands of movies do exist about boring sundowns, boring family life, boring beachwalks and so on.

It's a shame, that we only got these very few little and "bad-in-shape" films bs Ammons, Johnson and Lewis.Perhaps - hopefully - somebody opens his private treasure-box one day. I hope that!

  • Pure genious ! I'm sure he's now jamming with Mozart, Hendrix & Co... We miss you Albert !

  • i strongly urge everyone to check out "Chicago Legends 1926/1950" It's a CD that features Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Marton, Johnny Odds, Jimmie Noone, Mezz Mezzrow, Earl Hines, Horace Henderson, Sonny Thompson, Eddie Chamblee, Pinetop Smith, Jimmy Yancey, Albert Ammons, Big Bill Broonzy, Big Maceo, and Muddy Waters. Alltogether there are 22 tracks with superb quality. You can even find it in your local library like I did :)

  • The film is 'Boogie Woogie Dream'. Pete Johnson has been cut out. The soundtrack replaced with Ammons Swanne River Boogie. However it's always great to hear Albert, pity there was not much film though.

    Chas. (Mr Boogie Woogie) Hall

  • Incredible. Thank you so much for putting that in. Albert Ammons, pure genious...

  • grandiose! quel punch!

  • What can I say?! Pure gold.

  • This is boogie as it should be played by a couple of masters of the art.

  • Yes, you hit the nail on the head!!

  • This is certainly a genius displaying his mastery at the piano keyboard.

  • Great, great. Yes really hot rockin' music!

  • its impossible not to like this.its sheer genius;just sit back and relax.we are lucky to have this on you tube.thanx very much.brilliant

  • MASTERPIECE...just keep quiet and listen...Perfect...Continue to send this kind of gift..;Thanks...

  • mythical great great pianist

  • This is cool, I love boogie. He is very good

  • VERY COOL!!! I am 14 years old, but I LOVE BOOGIE!!

    FUCK ITS FUCKING COOL MAN!!

HE IS VERY GOOD AT PIANO!! :)

  • MADAFAKA SHIT... hahhahah

  • deadly..love the cuts to his face he's like a black Reg Holdsworth

  • Why do old films make people look like they're on crack?

  • OorvakanSar you apperantly know how people look using that stuff. Using it daily yourself? You sound like a really stupid ape.

  • the video is not even in synch

  • You bloody nutter, these two guys were the GREATEST boogie players who ever lived EVERYBODY copied them.Try keeping that left hand going as smooth as they do and play with your right..You have to be very SPECIAL.

  • Great pianist! Great work!

The video track is not actually the recording of the SWANEE RIVER BOOGIE, only the audio track is.

  • notes he's playing don't match the video. but it's a great song

    Nice job!

  • leuk

  • Wow!!!

  • The sound really is "Swanee River Boogie" (second take, as far as I know), but the movie is "Boogie Woogie Dream". Actually two completely different things...

  • c'mon boys (or girls) - be reasonable. if you look at the few words describing this you'll see that its the released version of Swanee river boogie and two alternate takes for boogie woogie enthusiasts with Ammons cut in from Boogie Woogie Dream to make it slightly more interesting and annoy Pete Johnson fans

  • Yes the sound is out of sync. but boy is he great!!!! If I had a dollar for every video/song that I've seen out of sync. I'd have to say move over Warren Buffet!

  • sound outta sync,,,,fix it!!

  • its a totally different vid

  • nice

  • Que c'est beau!

  • Que c'est beau!

  • man is der gut!!

er is nich nur einfach absolut entspannt sondern er hat auch so nen geilen beat drauf!!

    einfach gut!

  • geil

  • wow davvero fantastico...bella musica...!!!

  • This is Fats Waller...

  • No.

  • Sorry I forgot to mention that the guitarist was Ike Perkins a member of Ammons band , already present on the 1936 Decca Recordings of Boogie Woogie Stomp ( Decca 749 ). Thanks

  • What is This ? The video is from Boogie Woogie Dream shot in 1941 ............and Swanee River was recorded for Mercury around 1946 with Ammons Band and I do know the Guy who had those acetates !

  • cant you people tell this is fake. that the video does not even match the sound? super super lame.

  • Naja... die Bilder passen nicht sonderlich zur Musik...

  • NOw THAT's what I'm talkin' about. Great boogie-woogie version of a classic.

  • Guy playing piano does not even slightly match multiple persons playing piano and guitar. This is a really poor fake.

  • what can you say this guy leaves you BREATHLESS.go BABY go

  • Ce n'est pas la BO des images présentées. It's nothing but a FAKE !

  • Pure magic, brilliant listening

  • drboogie8

The 1st 2 are not the originals. The 3rd play is. I still have the original 78rpm record on Mercury that I bot back in 1941. I don't have it in my hand, but I believe the other side was, I don't want you anymore.Who is playing the 1st 2 plays?

    bob

  • its ammons on all 3

  • That s Correct ..........The discovery of these alternative Takes is described by C.I. PAGE in his book on Ammons ( 1946 Original recordings on acetates by L. Toogood for Mercury ) A discographer and a Fan of Albert ammons since 1951 !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yep, but I still like Mercury 8022! Danny O'Donnell

  • this is awsome!!

  • I love the expressions on his face. Looks like he's having so much fun.
