Great Song Great band - New album 2010 - Details - Classic SHY songs with titles/graphics - Lyrics etc - at SHYchannel 2010 and news about new album when it comes in - SHY - are back in 2010 - please comment and show support for still UK'sn finest Melodic Aor band. Tony Mills is back on vocals and Steve Harris is on top form - SHY Rock 2010
SHY were brilliant then but they are even better now. Check out the albums Unfinished Business and Sunset & Vine for the definitive best in Melodic Rock. The creative partnership of Steve Harris/Tony Mills is still flourishing - new album due out later this year.
Unfinished Business was the first album I got, and it blew me away! The whole thing rolls from start to finish. I had no idea it was from 2005 until I checked... Guess I'm Bravin the Storm next... then what, people?!
Excess All Areas is a superb album you should get that first before Brave the storm. But since Excess is superior to Brave you should get Brave first and you will not be disappointed.
Can somebody upload the second video of Shy Brave the Storm? I don't know what happened to the video that I was seeing. That video was and forever be great because of the message.
My dad was the keyboard player in this band - he's in the video. We have all the old 12" at home, but our record player is broken! It's strange to see so many people who still like them!
oh my god i had their brave the storm lbum on original tape and think i chucked it in bin years ago lol and dont know why ????cos it rocked and i suppose it still does
I'm extremely happy to see a video from this band on here!
If you like 80's-style rock/metal (aka, "Hairbands") this CD (Brave The Storm)is a must have. Good song writing, great guitar playing and decent lyrics.
I originally had this on cassette back when it was released and a couple years ago actually got a copy on CD off eBay.
As far as the comparison to Heavy Pettin' - I'd agree somewhat but, imo, Shy writes better material. Or, at least they did on the CD this song is from.
I had forgotten how good this was. Love the verse...just like "since you been gone"...or is it "I surrender". Bonnet or Turner or Mills or Journey or Schenker or G-force or ...whose counting. Nice........Brum Rock Rules eh!
Kerrang used to call them Shy(te) back in the day. They were big hopefuls for furthering english Rock Pop. Had one album I think. Catchy tune though.
Tony Mills suffered a
heart-attack at Oslo Airport last Saturday afternoon :(

It seems like a lot of this music is still popular over in Japan, can anyone elaborate on this?

they remind me of a fluffier version of Heavy Pettin'

not true actually. They had about 6 or 7 albums and are still quite big in Japan so I understand
