  • Just another great doo wop group. We need some groups like this to be current today.

  • I remember when my dad used to sing this song to me but he will remix it to my name Lu la la la la la la la laaa means I love you

  • this is soul music you can feel every thing the instruments the tone everything is perfect

  • @AKUtheSWORDSMAN1 Great stuff since I was a kid I still only listen to the 60s and 70s satilite radio the best thats why all the new singers want to sing the oldies they know its the best music ever BG

  • Gives me goosebumps as it did the very first time I heard it in the seventies. Great music.

  • What a beautiful love song. Another GREAT performance. I really, really love the love songs of yesterday, These are the songs that are timeless.

Thank you Delfonics for sharing your beautiful and soulful songs with the world!!!

  • On this date in 1968 {Feb. 3rd} "La-La Means I Love You" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it would peak at No. 4 and spent a total of 15 weeks in the Top 100... This record was also The Delfonics debut onto the charts...

  • we will never have this type of beautiful music again, they are all slowing leaving the earth, to be replaced with garbage. This week we have lost another great singer Etta James has left us. brings a tear to my eyes.

  • Old School love. I'm getting chills!

  • I had the love of my life this was are wedding song we had are good times and are bad times but we never gave up or ran away doing the bad times we would sit down and work it out, she is gone now to be with her creator and I am an old man but a day doesn't go by when I don't think of her and there are days when a tear or two will roll down my cheeks but I still smile for all the joy she brought into my life and I will always love her and this was are song.

  • @dleet101 Bless you brother.

  • this will be my wedding song

  • What a beautiful song. It brings tears every time I hear it.

  • :54 sec was he really trying to sing...lmao

  • When they started dancing, I was hoping somebody didn't break a hip....Still classic and better than the crap out today, though!!!

  • 7 peoples ears are broken ...its impossible to dislike this classic

  • music is not music any more not compared to this

  • Taking me back with this one. Thank you for posting.

  • What a GREAT VIDEO to Go with a GREAT TUNE

  • so sad they don't make music like this anymore..classics..

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...means...I hate you....

  • @JMartComedy Lame.....Simply lame...Not even close to being funny.

  • @FRANKFUZZYNUTZ Ya, I'm better than that

  • These are my boys. I am a hugh delfonics fan...

  • Classic!

  • im from the newer generation of music but i wish i was around when these guys were still young. this kind of music is so much better and a whole lot more meaning in the music

  • danm it!!!! i want the original!!!! DX

  • the reason behind the" la la la" words was because the singers little one did not know how to say" I love you" and could only say" lalala" so they made the love song with those words. I was listening to old interviews and they asked how they got the words for it and that is the story. I thought that was such a great story. Had to share in case anyone wondered. I love the Delfonics and all the other great 70's music. Dont make it like that anymore.

  • 1968? wow...takes me back to my living room in Brooklyn...beautiful memories=D

  • love music like this just a feel good vibe making you forget about the world around you...i wish music was still like this

he still sounded good today when i heard it again

  • They Can Still Do It!

    Chills...........

  • I LOVE THIS SONG,,BACK IN THE DAY,,,WONDERFUL..THANK DELFON, LA LA TO YOUR ALL

  • Oh wow, I feel like I am my dad today! My mother would sing this to me when I was a baby... Still remember it.

  • This-is-music

  • Oh man, too damn sweet! I remember being a 7th or 8th grader and hearing this great soul music and just loving it. Listen to those harmonies! "Girl, help me please!"

  • @tamerswan Yes, he is still alive...But I doubt the guy you are talking about was the real one lol

  • You get the full effect of the true "philly sound" with the live string section. Synth strings are just fine when you don't have a string section available -- or you can't afford one. But the real deal string section -- there's nothing like it. Thom Bell wrote a lot of these slow soul ballads for full orchestra. This is the way the philly sound should sound when done live. Sound is superb.

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL !!!!! PLEASE bring this music back - when they had live bands, strings just like this in the recording sessions like the fabulous Funk Brothers ! Saw them live once in DC some years ago, these guys sing so great To the day....To think this song was written from words that one of their sons said to the Dad ("La, La, La") from what I heard...LOVE me SOME DELFONICS !

  • @tamerswan: well aren't you the cute little black hole of happiness ?

  • i teared up because of the stupid commercial at the beginning.

  • This is one of my most favorite old school songs, and one of the most sincere love songs EVER!

Thom Bell was great at what he did, gotta love The Delfonics...

  • the voice is kinda funny but for this age, WOW!! not to bragg but they even better than micheal jackson(5)

  • You know, you would just have to had lived back then, to understand that this will never happen agian. Music was diffrent (real groups, bands and real singing) people were diffrent ( in one relationship or married) and times were diffrent, (no cell phones no cable). It was a special time!

  • Good music will always transcend generational gaps.

  • great music all you young people listen to good music you might learn something instead of that rap sit

  • The Delfonics, The Dramatics, The Isleys, those were the days of real music. You could just set back and listen, fall in love, be in love it was wonderful. I am so glad I was a part of that time.

  • These were my Guys back in the day. Once my Mom cooked Sunday dinner for the Delfonics in Harlem. Only brothers Wilbert Hart and Wilson Hart were able to come...There was a line of screaming girls outside my apartment door, trying to catch a glimpse of them (when I used to hang out backstage at the Apollo)! Wow is that Ruth Thomas (formerly of Orange, NJ???...Was that Ruth Thomas in the Audience, if so Facebook me Girl. We've gotta catch-up!!!

  • R.I.P Randy Cain!!!

  • ISN'T IT GREAT TO SEE PEOPLE SO HAPPY?

  • @btinsley1 Sure is. Peace. : )

  • @btinsley1 it's such a beautiful song it gives me chills. the audience just loves it. just wished this song would be played today on the airwaves. i work @ the airport & this should be played there. enjoy. ****

  • @d4seasons Jackie Brown, is that you?!

  • @VyperJMc no i'm not. i use to know a woman named Jackie Brown. it's a popular name. why do you ask ?

  • @d4seasons This song was in the movie Jackie Brown... the main character is a flight attendant/drug mule. You said you work at an airpoirt. I put 2 & 2 together. Just being funny.

  • @VyperJMc it's nice to have a sense of humor. i love beautiful love songs. i truly miss the 1970's. enjoy. ****

  • @d4seasons I didn't mean it as an insult. Jackie Brown is a fantastic movie & she is a strong character. The director, Quentin Tarantino, has quite the ear for this genre of music.

  • @btinsley1

and don't it seem good music transcends color - I love that white guy in the audience getting down singing.

Music and Love are color blind.

  • @LadyMoondancer AMEN!!! He was singing his Heart out to some wonderful Soul Music! He was Pretty Fly for a White Guy! *lol*

  • @LadyMoondancer He was feelin it wasn't he :)

  • @LadyMoondancer So! So! true.

  • @LadyMoondancer so is Jesus!!

  • @btinsley1 sure. it's such a pretty song.very breathtaking. great, wonderful memories

  • haha love the dude @ 0:55

  • now that's when music was music. Notice the audience, black, white, don't matter what they are, EVERYONE is singing along. Even though their waistlines are a little bigger, and the voices aren't quite as high as before.... it doesn't matter one bit. That's the true definition of timeless music. It's a shame there isn't anything to compare today.

  • Baby making music .

  • wow..........

  • From the "Love Train" PBS Philly Special, this is William Hart, the David Ruffin-ish Garfield Fleming and, very fittingly, the last appearance of original member Randy Cain before he passed.

  • awwwww chitt.it rocks my soul still :)

  • old school back again, whats up

  • NOW in 1969 I was in love and still am with her LOST that love butt still say la la la la means I skill LOVE her (YOU)

  • @skippertee1 Woodrow?? First time i herd it called that. ROFL

  • @knightd12 - I always try to keep things classy when referring to matters on the "up and up". This shouldn't surprise someone of your obvious stature. You being Knighted and well versed in Chivalry.

  • Not the original William Hart here on lead, sounds like him, sort of looks him, but I think was the group the other Hart brother started, as there were two sets of Delfonics touring with the Hart bros. split. Anybody got further?

  • Kinda makes me wish that I was born in this time.

  • SOME GROUPS NEED TO RETIRE, AND KEEP THEIR PRIDE, OF THEIR PEAK.

  • What the heck happened tp POOCHIE, even the song doesn't sound the same without him....SORRY

  • La la la la...

  • i saw them live at a phillies game in 08 or 09

  • This is a CUT..

  • My HS "love" called this our song...it still sounds as good as it did then...

  • man this song always makes my day

  • @th1nkp1nk91

Actually, I believe he had a bout with throat cancer.

  • I can't find the words to describe on how beautiful this songs is.

  • For me, it wasn't just the groups (phenomenal as they were), it was the songwriters for them, as well. Thank you for the memories!

  • full orchestra , , , Love it !

  • this song is so beutiful

  • It's best to just remember some groups, the way they were. The Delfonics is a classic case in point. I couldn't finish watching this video.......PURELY PATHETIC! They should not have even tried to do this. I say this with tears in my eyes. Their music provided the soundtrack for many of my relationships back-in-day. I even wore jumpsuits an accessorized like them. Their lyrics provided dialogue for conversion with the many, many young ladies I ENTERTAINED back-in-day.

  • I LOVE U JOE LUSK

  • Remember the old choreography? It was perfect for the day and time!

  • @brandi7ish - - Hey, know kiddin' the ol' Temptations shuffle. All of them would do the same steps. They would cross one foot over the other, spin and then face the audience again and use hand gestures for pointing to the eye, the heart, then point out to the audience. This stood for "I love you". Ha. Then the leader would grab the mic after the refrain and do a solo while the other 3 would mirror

the leaders same dance steps. Remember the outfits? They looked like 70's wedding attendants.

  • This is one of my all time favorites, greetings from sunny Jamaica.

  • Man, I was sitting here with tears in my eyes watching this performance. I love that song so much. It's one of my all time favorites. So simple but so full of meaning. The Jackson Five covered this song on their ABC album. Michael did a very good job of it I must say. Check it out.

  • I love the Delfonics music indeed, and noticed that lady playing the violin, she is a babe too, great music. ;)

  • Lolllll Snoop !!!!!1

  • Yeah, lucky for us we are not the only people aive that love this music, wow,we really are not alone!

  • What's SO COOL is when I listen to stations IN OTHER COUNTRIES online THEY PLAY THESE SONGS TOO.

  • No Disrespect Or Anything But The First Singer Reminds Me Of Cleavland Off Of Family Guy. :D

  • Back when we were young and falling in love to all of these songs, boy, those were the real days!

  • @1952deborah What SHOCKED me was when I got into the net and then YOU TUBE came along,,there were millions of people out there that had feelings for these songs JUST LIKE I DO after all these years. AND EVEN SOME OF THE RARE SONGS that I really thought noone knew about but just a few like me
