I really love Jae's voice! :3 And Hirai Ken is one of my favorite Japanese singers. What a shame that people are critiquing and comparing these two vocal talents and arguing who sings it the best. I definitely would love to see a Hirai Ken and JaeJoong collaboration.

like it but he uses way too much vibrato. Many korean pop-singers over use it when they try to make their voice seem more professional but that is just wrong.

@maxabt ...I disagree. He didn't use too much vibrato and he doesn't have to try to seem more professional at all. He has a unique voice and sound. Don't clump all Kpop singers together in one box because they aren't all in the same league. Also I've heard many Japanese singers use too much vibrato as well but I guess you haven't noticed that.

He doesn't use much vibrato at all,not just in this song,in any song.Maybe that's why I prefer his voice in DBSK,not to mention that he has beautiful pitch.

The ones that I think uses to much vibrato is Junsu and Yunho.

i believe YunJaeMinSuChun is totally different if you think they are the same as other kpop artists because YunJaeMinSuChun has a really different voice that makes them seem more unique than other artists. maybe you listen to japanese pop more? because japanese pop, many of the guys have "that" voice that makes you instantly know their japanese because of when they sing; they have this pitchy yet squeaked yet good voice at the same time=D

@5foreverYunJae vibrato is a very very slight wavering back and forth around the pitch. When done correctly, it just adds warmth and a little extra flavor to the note, without making the note out of tune.

I think .....Jae's voice is way too high and smooth for this song, yes he's a great singer but i dont think he would suit this song very well. although im his FAN. And doing ON THE SPOT. ALOT of SINGERS ahould be alble to do that . THat's why they call themselves, SINGERS.

Ken is extremely jerky and pitchy at times. I actually find it very frustrating. Jaejoong is a lot smoother. Ken is not nearly as a high singer as jaejoong is. Ken breaks into falsetto seemlessly, which makes his range seem unbelievably high. But jaejoong along with the other dbsk members, can sing with more power, and in a higher range using chest and head voice(mixed voice like stevie wonder or brian mknight) Regardless whether he is young or not, has nothing to do with his skill.

@Jetkimchrea In my opinion I don't think so. I may have only heard 2 songs of Hirai Ken and NONE of Jaejoong but Hirai Ken's voice is naturally soft. Take Hitomi wo Tojite for example. The chorus is not sung in falsetto, except for minor parts for example, the start "Your love forever", by the end of the word "forever" he has switched back. If you check out the notes, the highest in Hitomi wo Tojite, it's about a G# which is pretty normal for a Tenor 1. Though yes his voice doesn't suit his face

Im still trying to see how that changes anything i said, his voice remains in a head voice/falsetto. It really is different from actual range. Kim jong kook, k(only human) r some other singers who sing in this style, really light. IT SEEEEEMSS like they r up there, but theyve already got you fooled, which is good and requires A LOT of talent, but it is still different from the fullness Jaejoong n the otherDBSK members do.Ill do a cover hitomi wo tojite n try n demonstrate both ways.

I don't think anyone can truly beat the original version of this song. Ken is truly amazing. (both in terms of vocals and composing)

However, Jaejoong is still young and learning, so he did a fairly good job already. And I hope that I'm not offending anyone here, but I like Jaejoong's short version better than Jonghyun's version. Or maybe it's just because this song sounds weird when I hear it in Korean?
