well RHCP were hugely influenced by bands like fugazi and they do what they want so i guess in my eyes that makes them punk, probably more 'punk' than other bands that put themselves into a punk stereotype.

If you like dark themes I recommend listening to Nekromantix, they aren't really punk but I think you'll like them cause they are very horror-y, particularly their early stuff :)

@RyoNoHikari you should really check out old descendents and i know what you mean, dark is good. check out rudimentary peni, tsol, wasted youth, suicidal tendencies, septic death, part 1, exit-stance, flux of pink indians, subhumans, maybe crass or joy division, the fall, or some kind of post-punk bands
