Water Bottle Rocket - With Fins and a Cone

Could you try to make a rocket that would land softer by adding a parachute or something I'm sure others would like to see that as well.

your fins are fine you will need to and a aerodynamic nose cone fill your bottle a lil bit below half - pressurize it to 70 psi and it will clear 100 ft sometimes more when there is no wind

the reason the rocket didn't go hight is because the rocket has an almost even balence so next time maybe put some bluetak in the nose of the rocket.

Great video but can u make one with a smaller nossel and but more vinigre and water in that way it will go higher and with the size of the nozzle being smaller u will the increase the presure and reduce the amount

You made one mistake, no weight in the cone. Try to add 10-20 oz of clay to it and then tape that down and it won't go all crazy like that.

I think you should try a larger energy source shuch as motors instead of vinegar and baking soda dont ask me how to do this because i have just been using vinegar and baking soda but im sure you could make a real good model rocket and i think the holes in the one fin may have effected your flight a bit mabey put tape over the holes.

Try using a a skinny wine glass as a launch pad instead of wood. That's how I do it, and I think it goes higher. The glass may or may not fall over, so put it on a thick towel so if it does it won't break.

To make it go higher, poke some metal tongs in it, to hold it up, then stuff the inside with wet paper towels, fit a rocket engine in the end (prongs help keep it up so fire doesnt burn bottle) attach fuse, and make mr.rocket go!

I HAVE AN IDEA! I think it might help if you stuff some type of light wadding into the tip of the cone so it is much more stable. Also, weigh the keychainCam and fine an equivalent weght in quarters or something (this will make it WAY, WAY more stable). An alternative to that is to take the cam off. Thanks for the feedback!

one way you could do it is try baking soda and vinager this may semm a little elementry school like but its not:: So what you need to do is put 2 quaters of baking soda and 2 quaters of vinager in the acsess point were you put your materials in the rocket.

There is a good idea to stick 3 or more bottles but then it will be hard to sychnonize the time that they launch.Maybe you can think something for that?Also make sure you dont use uneccesary parts because they have a weight.

@162Deathnote thats sounds like a delay which would involve one rocket firing and the blast charge at the end would have been cut off so the engine would ignite a new set of engines, blowing out the first. its called a multi stage rocket.

It's no idea but me and my friend came up with this design of a rocket we called it sand rockets because we took a coors beer can and cut the top off and put fins and a cone on it and you get a mound of sand and a firecracker and put the firecracker on the mound And light it the shuve the can on the mound of sand and when the firecracker gose off it compresses the gasses inside the can and it launches it like 30 feet in the air
