Travis is a good drummer because unlike have of the idiots in the music world (particularly drummers) don't listen to the rest of the band, Travis listens and makes his drumming fit the music and doesn't make the music fit him, I would want to play with a drummer that doesn't have his head up his ass and listens to the music instead of some idiot that bangs on his drums

@baitkenh ok let me help you think of some "great drummers": Dennis Chambers, Tony Royster Jr, Buddy Rich, Mike Mangini, Virgil Donati, Jojo Mayer, Steve Gadd, Danny Carey, Dave Weckl, thomas Lang, Johnny Rabb, Mike Portnoy, George Kollias.... And the List goes on. These are guys that actually impress me when they play the drums, I'd never put Travis on that list lol.

Some of them are actually behind Travis in terms of technique as well. Ultimately, the way he plays- his style, intensity, and endurance- makes him great. I always loved the fact that he can play technical, pretentious, self-indulgent wankery, but he chooses to play punk instead.

People love hating on Travis. But at the end of the day I wish I was doing what he was doing. Stop hating on a dude for doing the only thing that makes him happy and never letting the rock star attitude and life get in the way of making him great.

And lets think about the drum solos - obviously you don't actually watch his solos - none are 4/4. some are 3/4 and some are 6/8.
