People think he is a musical "Genius" and always over look real Geniuses like Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd while talking about Micheal. He did not write most of lyrics (While Geezer, Dio, Lennon, Plant wrote very deep lyrics) and could not play an instrument well.
One of the most powerful metal songs of all time! Geezer's bass bristles with power, as does Iommi's guitar. Throw in Dio's vocals and you have a "true" classic!
@85Funkadelic I don't believe Bill Ward worked on this one. Vinnie Appice was the drummer on this album. However, if anyone ever forgets Bill Ward (and his contribution to the fabulous music Black Sabbath created), they should be drawn and quartered. Bill Ward is an amazing drummer. Better than Keith Moon and so many other "superior" drummers of rock and roll. He only gets his due from people like us, which is fine. They can listen to mamby-pamby stuff. We have Sabbath!!

@deads2048 Oh Yeah! Any good metal head knows about Carmine's MONSTER influence on the skins. Last time I saw Dio (along with Geezer) on "That Metal Show", they were asked which of the Appice brothers were best. Both Dio and Geezer voted Carmine. So did I (although my vote didn't count, lol). It is so great, that so many metal heads appreciate the drums, so much!!!

@85Funkadelic I don't believe Bill Ward worked on this one. Vinnie Appice was the drummer on this album. However, if anyone ever forgets Bill Ward (and his contribution to the fabulous music Black Sabbath created), they should be drawn and quartered. Bill Ward is an amazing drummer. Better than Keith Moon and so many other "superior" drummers of rock and roll. He only gets his due from people like us, which is fine. They can listen to mamby-pamby stuff. We have Sabbath!!

@kyokogodai Thanks for the education! I looked it up and indeed Ward was not on this album it was Vinnie Appice. Still some great drumming (I play) I love how tight the band is on some of these songs.

@kyokogodai Yep Bill Ward is undoubtably one of the best. Millions and millions of metal fans around the world know this to be a fact.

@deads2048 Oh Yeah! Any good metal head knows about Carmine's MONSTER influence on the skins. Last time I saw Dio (along with Geezer) on "That Metal Show", they were asked which of the Appice brothers were best. Both Dio and Geezer voted Carmine. So did I (although my vote didn't count, lol). It is so great, that so many metal heads appreciate the drums, so much!!!

@billgeezeriommi Not ignoring Vinny, no way!! I was thinking of Bill Ward, when typing the post. Since I knew he was not the drummer on the album, I just skipped the drummer. It was an error, because Vinny was terrific on this album.
