mykelbe -- there are indeed many other territorial disputes. i have written songs about some of them as well -- most notably the territorial dispute that is the united states, all built on stolen land, some stolen fairly recently. in any case, that doesn't make this one any less important, does it?
in terms of "wiping israel off the map," what many palestinians and other reasonable people around the world want to "wipe off the map" is israeli apartheid -- not the jewish people.

There are over 200 ongoing territorial and border disputes inolving nearly 100 countries. Perhaps you should ask the same border question to the Palestinians who can't make up their minds between claiming the West Bank & Gaza or "Palestine from the River to the Sea" (i.e wiping Israel off the map).
You can also ask the same question of France, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Sudan, People's Republic of China, India & over 100 other nations with ongoing border disputes.

@13may2011wc @13may2011wc actually Israel's borders keep getting smaller and smaller. Israel voluntarily withdrew from the Sinai, Gaza and Lebanon and offered over 95% of the West Bank in return for peace. Israel is still waiting on the peace part of the deal.

If phosphorous troubles you, as it does me, than surely you will condemn the repeated and indiscriminate use of white phosphorous by Gazan Arabs against Israeli civilians. Methinks it is not so much phosphorous that you dislike, but rather Jews.

@mykelbe I find your statement may be fictional because I wonder, how is it that the Arabs have a means to deploy the bombs? I know for a fact that Israel has a means to and has deployed them, in a school. Defend Israel all you like but I made up my mind, especially since they fired artillery shells at my father just so there were no Irish peacekeepers not taking cover in a bunker to see them fire rockets into Lebanon ( he wasnt killed but was forced to take cover ina bunker)

Since Israel has never honored its two conditions of admittance to the UN - the right of return and to internationalize Jerusalem - Israel should be suspended from the UN until it complies. Confront Nakba denial & memoricide in your communities and expose racist positions of individuals and groups like J Street who fear loss of Jewish majority in Israel.
We didn’t wait for the KKK or White Citizens Council to have a change of heart and give up power. Support the growing BDS movement.

The 20% non-Jewish citizens of Israel have long called for a democratic constitution and legislative equality - a country for all its citizens. Governed by separate, discriminatory laws these Palestinians have never been included in the peace negotiations. Referring to Israel as only a "Jewish homeland" or state further jeopardizes this fragile population to what is openly referred to in Israel as "transfer" and is an attempt to abrogate the right of return for refugees.

in 1993, the Palestinian leaders already accepted the 1967 borders of Israel and agreed to recognise it as a state!
Now Netanyahu has moved the goalposts, asking Palestinians to recognise Israel as a Jewish state - a state for a particular religeous and ethnic group. Israel will always ask the impossible: it makes the Palestinians look like the barrier to peace, and it diverts attention from the ongoing colonisation of Palestine by settlers.

More time to push Palestinians out, bulldoze their homes and build settlements.
They are getting anxious cause they are aware eventually someone will break it and stop the madness...
The game of 'Snatch and Grab' as the most likely scenario will be that the two states will have the borders that are at the moment the decision is made...
