  • PS: everybody saying that this guy sucks would probably get their asses kicked by him.. even with his "bad racquet"

  • Everybody at my club calls it a birdie/bird.. Nobody says shuttlecock in the states or Canada

  • hahaha, you from over the pond i think,it's called a shuttlecock not a bird and it's nob not noob hahahha

  • its not called a bird you nob,it's called a shuttlecock, use the right term ffs

  • @daveynonose many people call it the "bird", don't you know it?!? "shuttlecock" is too long, allllllll!!!!!!!!

    you noob! :P

  • is he nervous? lol

  • Good tips on serving backhand. You've just said it right. t

  • bird

  • very good plz give me more videos and more in english thank yu

  • gud video..........but pls try to give some strength 2 your voice quality

  • O_O not even that good.

  • the bird shouldn't be here or here ya ya.. it should be in ur pants ..

  • haha i feel sorry for this guy.

  • @KaeraUehara

I am grateful to this guy for sharing some good insights about playing badminton. He is a graet guy.

  • his shy, ahaha anyway nice video.

  • つかじだ

  • you want to learn badminton if you can't hold your racket rightly?

  • Wouldn't have control of the bird! 1:00 LMAO

  • i agree with the positioning etc but holding your racket that high on the grip...

  • @mattymar14 It is commen to hold it that high, because that way you can give more power into your flik service (My trainer happend to use the same technique). I found it weird at first as well but when you think about it there is nothing against it.

  • he doesnt say he's talking about doubles ok

  • well when he tells u to move your bodyweight forward he's talking crap. All the opponent needs to do is push it over his head. then this guy moves back too quickly and falls over

  • dude its not crap if u lean forward ur ready for drop shots and if the guy lifts ur DOUBLES partner gets it

  • o im sorry when does he mention that its doubles?

  • he would not be standing so close to the line if it wasnt doubles and besides u always want to keep the center of gravity of ur body forward because u move faster that way and are ready for defense and going back to the middle

  • stances are optional. although the majority have their dominant foot forward, there are professionals who stand with feet equally apart or with their non-dominant foot forward. and for people who judged his speech, why don't you guys take a visit to China, maybe then you'll learn to be a better person.

  • this video is cool,,,as i read some comments wat he is teaching is the basics,,,so base in my experience playing it depends on how u want to deliver and make a balance,,,,the basic is whenever u move ur raket ur foot must go along with it..so if ur a right handy u..ur right foot goes vice versa to the left handy,,but in service...the faster u can recover the better..i mean i ur a right hand and u put ur left foot forward..means ur anticpating a shot from ur right..vice versa,,dunno if it helps..

  • Badminton is an amazing sport

  • duh is rung

  • Agreed with what Sepir29 had said, wasted my time watching this crap.

  • talks like a drunk

  • haha

  • we need to remebar dat the tumb is very importandt rul

  • sooper abajaiu badmintonul

  • Talk too much sh*t..friend...

  • i serve with my left foot forward

  • thats the wrong footwork.

  • OMFG you guys are so nubs he explain it very well, he tell us the rulls and the correct way to put the shot and the place where the shot must hit and the footwork is correct if you are a righthander your right foot goes forward if you are a left hander you go with your left foot forward Nubs go watch the pros and tellme something

  • wtf are you talking about, stfu you fag

  • im talking about you guys are just talking shit about the guy that knows how to make a short backhand move and crit him for doing a good job explaining all the steps very well for the beginners. for exemple you guys sayed that the footwork is not correct and it is...

  • quit trying to be smart and READ what i said, i said I put my left foot forward...i know im doing it wrong and i didnt say this guy was wrong

  • I do not understand all of you, the video is made for beginners. And a Backhand Service is harder to accomplish looking easy. I play since 18 years Badminton, and I achieved some Turnaments to win or to get at least third ranked. He shows a simple technics, which is only shown to somebody who has not played long or never got trained. Beginner would learn a lot from him, by just watching. Proof: Standing, racked and ball holding, Movement, explanation of the fingers, and several things more shown

  • badminton ??????

    good!!

  • or you have really fast internet ;)

  • he can hardly talk and he doesn't know what he is doing

  • badminton, the best sport in the world!!!!!!!!!!

  • agreed!!!!

  • annoying and painful to watch its full of errors

  • lmao im sure ur pro yellow.. Of cource you are.. i mean this isnt the internet aye...?

  • yes u are right yellow ... you as world rank1. and me as 2. know that better than everyone else :/ what about worldcup next year? u will keep rank 1?

  • the way he has his index finger outside the bird is already telling me hes never played internationals. Wow.

  • very cute fat guy

  • Comment removed

  • @Rideglobe its just the mic, it distorts the sound a lot.. i can tell that that camera was very poor

  • he has a bad racquet

  • @KPride21

I know... Nano 9000 is the worst racket in the world ><

  • yeah this is so for begineers, and all you guys who say forehand is better i disagree if u can master a long backhad serve you can use it to your advantage sooooo much

  • Not sure I completely agree with this video. I guess its a good start for beginners.

  • 6cunning6stunt6

you should play to you opponents weakness in rally if they dont get to net quick enough u know to play short back hand serve

  • underarms serves more better and who is this guy? does he know how to play badminton?

  • under arm serves are more simple and better...

  • thanks.. using the thumb technique my short serves have improved at least 50%.. u get a better flick serve aswell

  • I find that a nice light Yonex racket makes short serving very easy compared to a smash racket.

  • ure racket is like mine but my handle is light green

  • actualy, the thumb is just for support... and the action you need is just the wrist action...

  • ok...

    this video aint really helpful...

    haha

  • u do flick your wrist when serving actually. Not always, but u do. If you want to serve it high to the back of the court then the wrist flick gives it a lot of force. Even if you do not want to hit it to the back of the court it is about what part of the shuttle you hit. It does not necessarily mean it will go far up in the air.

  • There does seem to be a lot of discussion in badminton around the serve. The offical rules published on the badminton england website (which u can download) discuss the service in section 9. The following applies:

9.1.5 the whole shuttle shall be below the server's waist at the instant of being hit by the

server's racket. The waist shall be considered to be an imaginary line round the body,

    level with the lowest part of the server's bottom rib;

  • rusey u chat shit the top of the racquet head needs to be lower than than waist or bottom rib i also play county badminton and i am coached by the england coach in one2one sessions. his wrist is a little bit funny though

  • OMG THIS IS ALL SHIT

i play county badminton and his serve is wrong

u shud not flick the wrist while serving as this lifts the shuttle

also the rules have now changed and it doesnt matter about having the racket below the wait, you just have to have the racket in a downward motion.

  • Yeah but you still have to hit it at the sweet spot though :-P

  • ns9000

  • If your coach sucks don't worry... in your local club the experienced players will help you with techniques. Just ask.

This clip is good - he has a nice action to his serve - more push than hit is the way to think about the short serve.

  • lol... whatever feels more comfortable xP

    ..

looks like i've been doing the improper foot position for my short serves xD oops

  • -___- it means a backhand SERVE idiot

  • it'd been better if it sed serve on the title rather than backhand. n plus doenst most people use that serve. n they all call it serve not backhand serve.

  • its a backhand short serve...

  • lol the title sez backhand . and ur teaching people how to serve.. = = lol

  • duh, try to understand things first before making comments that aren't right.

galeng magmarunong. di naman marunong. hahahaha. =)))))

  • They've actually changed the rules for serving.

Now, the racquet must be pointing in a downwards direction (yes, that means that it can be at an angle of 0.1 degrees downwards). This means that your wrist doesn't need to be higher than the whole of the racquet head.

Also, the racquet should be lower than your lowest rib.

Of course, if you watch pros play, they actually often play foul serves that hardly get called by the service umpires.

  • guys can u watch my trickshot vid anddoint forget to commewnt :)
