@masterscheme1 RE5 was more of a shoot-em-up than anything else. And also, they weren't RPG's. They were survival horror. In fact, the original game kind of invented the survival horror genre itself.

I watch these trailer for this game and gameplay videos and i have yet to see any of the development issues that people who write for ign and other game sites complain about and as far as AI issues go i have yet to see a game where the AI is of any use at all, typically they are all stupid you just get extra stupid ones sometimes *cough* Kat Halo Reach*cough*
Operation Raccoon city is nothing but a spin off this was created with no intentions of being a Horror game or even really be part of the main series of RE games much like RE Gaiden was. This game is essentially RE5 versus mode given a full game and a very SMART way for capcom to capture a bigger audience with a spin off shooter they can attract an audience who may have never even considered one of the games before. it was just a bad idea to have slant 6 develop it
There are many ppl complaining about parting with the old times, but in order to be more realistic they had to do this way. There are also complains of losing the teror style, but honestly there were just a few parts where i actually scared with monsters popping out ( like RE 1 dogs jumping thru window ), the rest is mostly some thrill of running from a licker or mr X or expectation of when will nemessis come(the first run of the game ofc). ppl gotta try it out before complaining.

@lepricon989 This is just a spin off of the series capcom isn't even developing it because they are busy with 6 right now because of all the pressure they get from the fans who don't understand why they had to make the changes they did in the series. and yes we are in an age where there is no such thing as originality anymore as a game developer myself i can tell you we spend months playing other games to see what others are doing so we can make improvements or take what others do also.

As you played, it looked like multiple cameras were mounted throughout the mansion or wherever you went which kept making our eyes re-adjust. We also saw the characters entire body, not just waste up and the music was really creepy. It's the little things that everyone forgot about.

Okay, as with Final Fantasy, this game is ruined. Where is the puzzel solving? Where is the "frame-by-frame" motion picture they had in Resident Evil 1 to Resident Evil: Nemesis?

One day... All in all, I have spent 24 hours trying to find a single shred of proof, in video form, that you can in fact choose rather or not you kill Leon, Claire, and Jill... And yet, as if now, I have found nothing.
This game does look fantastic and i am looking forwards to it big time, but... I'm not sold on the co-op idea at all, any horror remaining is obviously lost in a group situation, & as an action game that's fine but i don't play games online so i'd be stuck with action games and a load of dumb AI or AI i have to order around when i just wanna shout some zombie scum... Its a different take and adaptation to the series, just like resident evil 4 was, did that game "ruin resident evil's plot"? Dont think so. Also you can blame the transition of Resident evil from survival horror to action because of the popularity and focus of next gen gaming orientated around a "Guns, bullets, explosions" focus.

I slightly agree with your COD statement; but do you want to know why COD is so successful? It's mechanic is so crisp, no one can touch it, yet hopefully Respawn can make a new engine and blow people away with something new. Anyways your statement about 'successful series" fails when talking about COD.
Anyways, Gears 2 wasn't that great; but Gears 3 stands to be one of the more complex, beautiful, competitive games of our time.
@BinaryW01f as much as i dislike cod i have to agree with you, it's mechanics are fairly solid but it has been going downhill (if only slighly) since cod4 which set the bar so high. gears2 was a let down for me but gears 3 is a proper sequel with so much attention given to it. The way to inject new life into the resident evil series isn't by coating army of two with a lick of zombie paint. They hardly pushed the boat out for this disaster, the ai and mechanics look horrid
@ASHFELT3 i agree with you and as much as i loved the originals the story has shot to shit but it hasn't stopped the gameplay being there. 5's story was gash but the mechanics were fun, however i see nothing innovative about this game sofar. It's got generic shooter written all over it. Mix it with terrible ai and mechanics and you've got one bad looking game sold under the resident evil banner. A source of entertainment should do just that, entertain. New ips please capcom

@CapcomGirlLover I've played all of three consoles, I've owned all three consoles. I highly prefer the PS3 because of its hardware, cheaper than the X-Box in terms of accessories, and offers the same thing as Nintendo. I don't want to pay for online play, and I don't want a system that doesn't take online serious. I personally thing that the PS3 has a perfect mix for hardcore gamers and casual gamers and everything in between.
@CapcomGirlLover It's not brand loyalty, it's an honest opinion of what I think is better. And, for me that is "what system offers the most?" And, when it comes down to the wire. The PS3 offers something for everyone of every category.
@CapcomGirlLover I have enjoyed all of them. I would still have my Wii right now too, if my brother didn't leave it at a friend's house. Long story short, my Wii was sold for drugs. I would also still have my 360, a glass shell fell from over 5 feet onto it. I don't have enough money to go out replacing systems.

I have a nasty feeling that they've implimented zombies with guns again.
In Resi 4 it was ok because it was somthing new and the Las Palagas Sufferers only rally shot with crossbows occaisionaly.
But what the hell was up with the zombie commandos with AK-74s in Resi 5, that was bloody ridicholas.

resident evil 4 was capcom best title and it seems to me that capcom or slantsix have alot of dumb fuck's using to much of there imagination which is making the resident evil title alot worse everytyme they drop a new series...what these developers don't understand is that most adults play games,so that we need somthing like this to be a lil bit realistic like resident evil 1 storyline or make the game more like the movie dawn of he dead..these guys look like super heros fors zombies lmao...

@vincearizala That and the constant changes in camera angles with every corner you turned. As you played, it looked like multiple cameras were mounted throughout the mansion or wherever you went which kept making our eyes re-adjust. We also saw the characters entire body, not just waste up and the music was really creepy. It's the little things that everyone forgot about.

Okay, as with Final Fantasy, this game is ruined. Where is the puzzel solving? Where is the "frame-by-frame" motion picture they had in Resident Evil 1 to Resident Evil: Nemesis?
This is far to much based on the action, and it simply not scares you at all... Screw this, I will never, ever buy a RE game again

So that means, this game, and Resident Evil 4 and 5 for that matter, is based too much on the action and not on the horror experience itself. This game does look fantastic and i am looking forwards to it big time, but... I'm not sold on the co-op idea at all, any horror remaining is obviously lost in a group situation, & as an action game that's fine but i don't play games online so i'd be stuck with action games and a load of dumb AI or AI i have to order around when i just wanna shout some zombie scum... I say all that but it looks fun lol I like the olds RE features that have come back like walking through the roads in the dark

@ASHFELT3 The point of bitching aint to bitch about the innovation, it is to bitch about ruining the very plot that attracted us to this game series in the first place. The whole Raccoon City era.. it's like sacred, and adding some would be cyber-rambos hunting Leon and Claire is like turning church into a mosque. It's just wrong.
Resident Evil would make hell of a lot more profit if they would have kept it as survival horror and not turned it into a action horror.

@RunkkaajaApina True but the point to remember about this game is that its a what if scenario and has no relation to the series plot nor is it ruining it. Its a different take and adaptation to the series, just like resident evil 4 was, did that game "ruin resident evil's plot"? Dont think so. Also you can blame the transition of Resident evil from survival horror to action because of the popularity and focus of next gen gaming orientated around a "Guns, bullets, explosions" focus.

I slightly agree with your COD statement; but do you want to know why COD is so successful? It's mechanic is so crisp, no one can touch it, yet hopefully Respawn can make a new engine and blow people away with something new. Anyways your statement about 'successful series" fails when talking about COD.
Anyways, Gears 2 wasn't that great; but Gears 3 stands to be one of the more complex, beautiful, competitive games of our time.
Anyways; CE paid off. :P

@BinaryW01f as much as i dislike cod i have to agree with you, it's mechanics are fairly solid but it has been going downhill (if only slighly) since cod4 which set the bar so high. gears2 was a let down for me but gears 3 is a proper sequel with so much attention given to it. The way to inject new life into the resident evil series isn't by coating army of two with a lick of zombie paint. They hardly pushed the boat out for this disaster, the ai and mechanics look horrid

@ASHFELT3 i agree with you and as much as i loved the originals the story has shot to shit but it hasn't stopped the gameplay being there. 5's story was gash but the mechanics were fun, however i see nothing innovative about this game sofar. It's got generic shooter written all over it. Mix it with terrible ai and mechanics and you've got one bad looking game sold under the resident evil banner. A source of entertainment should do just that, entertain. New ips please capcom

I highly prefer the PS3 because of its hardware, cheaper than the X-Box in terms of accessories, and offers the same thing as Nintendo. I don't want to pay for online play, and I don't want a system that doesn't take online serious. I personally thing that the PS3 has a perfect mix for hardcore gamers and casual gamers and everything in between.

I would also still have my 360, a glass shell fell from over 5 feet onto it. I don't have enough money to go out replacing systems.
