From what I understand, most statues are filled around 80% with water or other liquids after being set in place and then sealed to give them the extra added weight to keep them steady even in the worst weather. If they are filled all the way they may burst when frozen. This is nohing more then a LEAK.

Well Our Lord himself when he walked on earth performed miracles. Signs from God are indeed just that, who are we not to accept them. We should not limit God with the boundries of our own mind.  The Catholic church does not rush to say these things are miracles, it takes years of study and proof to be offered. But can you say God does not work outside the boundries of nature.

Even the miracles Christ performed on earth had an audience. The church has not diapproved Medjugorje. Like other apparitions this will take years to be approved and will mostly happen after the apparitions stop. Mary's purpose is evident in her messages and the messages are all about love, penance, fasting and most importantly do as her son says.

I too would not classify this as a miracle but it is definately a sign. The statue produces three or four drops of water every 10 seconds or so near the right knee. Basic science tells us that water will not condense on metal in temperatures above 38C (100F).

I doubt Mary is the Mother of God... Mother of Jesus yes, but God? i think not. Terminology is everything and extreme responses may affect some people who are a bit more into their religions. I think that you give Mary way too high of a position than she ought to have. True she did rear JESUS, but God was the guiding light in all that, not Mary so much. All her guidance, if there is was any was probably based off of God's Word

If u are not catholic i understand why you think this, but Medjugorje is a place of catholic worship, other religions are welcome. Jesus is God, part of the holy Trinity. This is the teaching of the catholic church and of all christian churches. If a mother was sent to someone with a message, and that person refused to even listen, i think whose Mother it was would be sad. We love Jesus, but that love does not have to exclude other love. We honour and love Mary, we worship, love and honour God.

but why create statues to and pray to a mere person? i see people praying to mary for things, virtues maybe, and i see that as a flawed action. Mary only had the message that Jesus would do great things, and she did what she could, no questions asked. i doubt Mary would approve of prayers being said in her name. that would've been blasphemous.

I dont think its blasphemous to talk to someone,thats all a prayer is. Statues are only reminders, something to focus the mind on in prayer. Jesus in the Bible said many times to pray for what you need. Lots of people ask Mary for help because we believe her prayers are very powerful because she is in the presence of God and as a form of humbleness before God, so she may respectfully ask God for us, like at the wedding of Cana.

But is that not dishonest? to have someone else speak for us to the Lord? what would you say if you went up there and then He asked you questions? would you whisper them to Mary and she'd convey them, or would you rather say it? I'd rather say it, straight up. He knows who i am, he knows me and whatever i say, in whatever language i say, he'll understand. there's no need for fancy talk and specified languages, just honest prayer, straight to God is what's needed

The statues are only for inspiration like a poster of a sportsperson or movie star. We do not pray to Mary since things can only be grated by Christ, we ask Mary (or other saints) to pray for us the same way one ask a near relative or friend to pray for them.

Statue's are reminders, like pictures! Our Lady is Jesus mother, I would say that is pretty big! Who better to ask to intercede for us with Jesus then his own Mother!

but why ask someone else to intercede to Jesus for you? why not just ask Jesus yourself? why must there be a middleman, or woman in this case? i don't think there is much point in going through this little ceremony to have a prayer listened to by Jesus, just say it to him directly and he'll listen...

Its all about Christ, listen to her messages and your relationship with Christ will increase. Her role is similar to the role played by the prophets in the old testament. In the old testament it was the prophets t that gave us the messages, in the new it is Mary and the saints.

Don't believe what these movies say. Medjugorje failed church tests. The Vatican isn't investigating it. Rome has said No Pilgrims. It's promoting evil disobedient behavior, not good. The seers never went into ecstacy, Mary appears too much, their prophecies never happened, seers don't divorce or live in mansions. The devil can do supernatural things, conversions can happen in Kmart,the church relies on more evidence. The disobedient priests have censored the early messages! It's a hoax.

Medjugorje is in Bosnia, one way to get there is via Croatia fly into Split and then by road to Medjugorje (2.5hrs). I can't say if you'll see a miracle but you'll definately feel a change within you, your love for Christ and his sacraments will grow exponentially and that will be the biggest miralce you'll experience here.

yeah, i can't explain it, but i was there, and i skeptically watched as the oil appeared and dripped, and i touched it with my hands, so i am a witness. oil is a very symbolic substance, so who knows, maybe god is saying that this place is anointed. but none the less, this really happens.

Silly comment. The Church embraces miracles because they inspire the faithful often in times of need. Practically the entire population of Mexico is now Catholic because of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Eucharistic miracles often happened when the relevant priests were having doubts about the presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Since when have miracles ever been scandalous? They are unique to the Catholic church for the edification of the faithful. Visions and miracles have been happening since the beginning of the Church.
