  • Wow, Betty! Those look absolutely beautiful & delicious!!!!!! But, if I were to make them, my dipping sauce would be barbecue sauce, or ketchup. :) But, my Mom is a diabetic, so we have to use canola oil, and it tastes just as good as vegetable oil. But, I would love to make homemade mini corn dogs!

  • hey is conola oil ok

  • @clanGAMEING Canola oil works fine. Some people don't like to use it, so you might want to use a standard vegetable oil.

    --Betty :)

  • finger food receipe video corn dogs yumm

  • That's actually a nifty little idea thanks, might have to try that.

  • Get a box of toothpicks and rig up each lil corn dog with it's own lil tiny stick for a bonus. I made some of these for our family's new year's eve party (which is nothing BUT non-stop appetizers) and they absolutely loved them. Thanks for sharing, Betty. :)

  • I mean like with the process from the egg 2 the draing the oil part

  • @PaigeHottey It would probably take a half hour.

    --Betty :)

  • How long does it take to make it like a hour or half??

  • @PaigeHottey They don't bake long--maybe 15 minutes; just check to see that the outside is lightly browned.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi, you use evaporated milk or normal milk?

  • @chubbly89 You may use either; I typically use normal milk.

    --Betty :)

  • Looks good I'm hungry now :(

  • @mkluvly Thanks for your nice comment! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • Never ever tried corn dogs. I live in the UK so it's quite unusual to find them here... but I'm going to try this recipe. Looks like fun to make and they look nice! :D

  • @ChainsawJulietx I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty!! Is there any way to bake these vs. Deep frying?? To save the extra calories?

  • @deliciousdivaL It would be hard to keep a batter on while baking; however, you might make a dry coating using cornmeal. Flavor it in any way that you like and make sure the Li'l Smokies are wet enough to get the coating to hang on. You may need to dip them in beaten egg first, but if you can get the coating to stick, there is no reason that you can't bake these!

    --Betty :)

  • @zulemars Yes, you make like the cut hot dogs even better.

    --Betty :)

  • can i use the white corn flour instead of corn meal? coz its hard to find corn meal in my country. plz reply asap! thx :)

  • @icloudy123 Yes, in this recipe, corn flour will work.

    --Betty :)

  • U look like my principal lol :)

  • @MTbieber I hope she looks nice.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty is there a Reason you use peanut oil ? does it it give it a extra special taste or its more healthy i would like to know :) Nice videos Keep them up!

  • @r1cky8807 Thanks for your nice comment! When you fry anything, you need the temperature to be 350 degrees (F) or higher. Some oils (like olive oil) will smoke at high temperatures. Peanut oil has a high smoking point, so you don't need to worry about that so much. You may, however, use a different oil, if you like.

    --Betty :)

  • This was great. Will be fixing for kids lunch next week.

  • @shawnamamaof2 Yes, this will make a great lunch for kids!

    --Betty :)

  • @waz165 Thanks for your nice comment! Thanks for watching my channel!

    --Betty :)

  • I wasn't hungry until I watched this and now I want me some little corn dogs, lol. Damn, those look yummy :P

  • @Poenut Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • They look and sound lovely, its like a hot dog, right? =/ but i'd like something else to do with 'hot dogs' then deep frying,do you have any alternative recipies? x

  • @MissieMai I have a recipe for "Pigs in a Blanket," which is baked. I used Vienna sausage, but you could easily substitute Little Smokies or small pieces of hot dogs. The link is here:

    youtube.com/watch?v=HsiBa1J0i-0

    --Betty :)

  • What's the purpose of the cornmeal? Could i make the batter without using cornmeal, they don't sell some in my country.

  • @HamenChips109 The cornmeal is definitely an expected ingredient of corn dogs. You can try it without cornmeal, but it might be disappointing.

    --Betty :)

  • Where are you from? Love your accent!

  • @TheMovieMan91 I'm from Kentucky. Thanks for your compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • This is The Movie Man. Use a wok for frying. It's easier and you do not need a thermometer.

  • @TheMovieMan91 Thanks for the tip!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen thanks alot and the wet ingridients will be the same right

  • @multisusana20 Yes, keep everything else the same.

    --Betty :)

  • hey betty what if i have corn meal mix it comes with the salt and flour already what so i add then

  • @multisusana20 You may use 1 cup of the cornmeal mix in place of the 1/2 cups of cornmeal and flour, and then leave out the salt or reduce it quite a bit.

    --Betty :)

  • Great idea!

  • we dont have corn meal here only corn starch is availble. is that ok ?

  • @2010pinkpunk Cornstarch is too thin. If you can get polenta, that will work for cornmeal.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

too sad.. its the only thing that is availble here regular cornstarch :( is there any way i can find replacemnet?

  • hey now a fun after 6th grade snack i can make thanks now i dont have to pester my parents

  • Yum!

  • @f4reekshow how have you never heard of home made corndogs?

  • Wowww where do you get all these ideas for recipes? This is amazing! I never heard of home-made corn dogs! :o

  • What can i substitute for peanut oil?

  • @Mell0wSpirit Use any oil that you prefer for deep-frying.

    --Betty :)

  • Ahhh, this is FANTASTIC! I live in England where Corndogs just aren't sold anywhere. I got a taste for them on holiday and now I can finally make them at home. I will definitely be taking these in my lunches.

  • Im behind on my Betty's Kitchen! To the viewer who asked if they could substitute polenta, the answer is no. It's a totally different product, and is manufactured differently. If you use polenta, you'll have a coating, but it will be like comparing orange to green, for lack of better words. It will be heavy and not really what a corndog would taste like.

  • @Patsymd Thanks, Patsy, for your help! It's nice to hear from you--I hope everything is going great!

    --Betty :)

  • Polenta is the same so use it in the same way.

  • god I would love to try a corn dog! Betty can I use polenta rather than corn meal? or is it different?

  • @Fitange I have never cooked with polenta. Maybe someone who has can give you an answer.

    --Betty :)

  • Looks delicious! Keep up the good work!

  • I love your silver bracelet Betty, it's gorgeous!

  • maybe I would dip them in the batter w/toothpicks.

  • Those look so good! I'm making these for my kidos!! Thanks! :)

  • Hi Betty, i doubt any of the store near you would carry it, but I would LOVE to see you try 'Vegemite' and maybe even make a recipe out of it. It's an Australian spread that you can put on sandwiches. Its reaaaly salty but I love seeing people that arent Australian trying it.

  • I have a request for you. Some of us have allergies, and I've really never so much as smelled a corn-dog let alone taste it. But they look so delicious.

I'm allergic to Nuts, Peanuts, and Eggs. Is there a way you could show how to cook an allergy-friendly corn-dog?

  • great recipe, I will be using this one for sure!

  • Here's a QUICK TIP for you Betty :)

If you use toothpicks to dip you can get more coverage and then use a spare toothpick to slide it off of the toothpick into the oil

    [love your videos]

  • Looks great Betty !

  • tanks alot for sharing!

  • Corndogs are wonderful with mustard this is great Betty a must try, thank you for sharing!!

  • Delicious! ThankYou for sharing this quick-n-easy:)

  • someone asked me to do corn dogs for my 200th video...thanks for posting this...now i know how to do them...thumbs up....they look really great

  • Aww i love corn dogs! wish someone could cook this for me!!!! <3

  • @suyon1004

Cook it yourself, you have the ingredients and instructions!

  • After all that hard work betty seemed more interested in the mustard and the little bite and petitte figure suggests she doesn't eat the food she cooks too much, not that there's anything wrong in that. Looked great.

  • I just dont understand why you arent on TV yet Betty!? Love Love Love your videos...thanks for all the hard work.

  • your a great cook but this is taunting me cause I am on a diet.

  • I have used the little smokies & wrapped them in the crescent rolls that u used with chicken in another recipe but I have never tried the little smokies this way. I will have to try this one. This is another good recipe to try when my grandchildren are here for a visit! :)

  • I wish that you would adjust your camera or lighting to not be so orange/yellow hued. It makes some of your videos sort of hard to watch. Still a great recipe, but I had to skip through some parts to get through it faster. I don't mean to be offensive, just some criticism.

  • Not a fan of corn dogs, but these look so good.

  • mmm yum!! i think i have to make these for the kiddies at some stage - my sons bday is coming up :D thank betty - love your videos xx

  • hey i love watching ur recipies.... but i wud like to suggest u do something about the lighting in ur kitchen u look very orange most ov the time.... =)

  • Oh gosh I am drooling. We don't have superbowl here in Australia but this is definitely a great snack anytime. Yum. Thanks Betty you are a legend.

  • i <3 honey mustard

  • Mmm these look so yummy I love corndogs, might have to try them one day

  • Happy Wednesday Betty and Rick! If you have a Super Bowl Party, will you show us what your party table look like? Thanks for recipes, I'm ready for the Big Game. :) Rejoicealways

  • They look great! Might have to give these a try, even though I hate frying things because I'm always afraid I'll spill or splash the oil everywhere.

  • now these make me hungry :)

  • Betty, you gotta stop making all this good food for the Superbowl. ;-) If I make all this, my table is gonna be FUL!!! Great recipe!!

  • This reminds me. Do you have any idea of how to make Chedd'R Bites, like they do at Sonic: America's Drive-In? Do you even have such a place in your state, like they do in Oklahoma?

  • mmhhmm

  • I've never seen corn meal here in Canada,is there something else that can be used for the coating?

  • @badbabe667 Look for corn flour or fine polenta in the flour aisle. You will find what you are looking for. In the alternative you can go the the bobs red mill website and you can buy it from them. That is the best corn meal I have ever used, hands down. Noreen

  • Those look really really REALLY nice, Never thought to use smaller sausages, going to try this one :)

  • great video :D
