  • My SINCEREST gratitude to DidgeByGoeG for highlighting some misconceptions I have had in regards to women playing the Didgeridoo. In vast contrast to yirdakiman, who 'strongly' has beliefs, DidgeBy GeoG has truly provided an informative and educational response to my concerns about women who may offend the traditional culture of the inhabitants of this great nation. Thankyou. May your next 60,000 years be a spiritually gratifying as the last. MADEINAUSTRAILA76.

  • If you're white, how come you know what's disrespectful to "Aboriginal culture" (there is no ONE single Aboriginal culture anyway - just in the heads of some new-agey wannabes)? Did you know that there are field recordings from the 60s of an Aboriginal woman from Arnhemland, the hotspot and only real birthplace of the didjeridu, playing one with great virtuosity? Did you know that there are mock ceremonies in Arnhemland where women steal and play didjeridus?

    Get informed or pipe down

  • Unfortunately theres way more clichees than facts established. She also

learned from different traditional masters in NT and has the respect and

the permission from the real masters. She supports this emazing culture

of NT by education and exhibitions: If you really want to know facts

from the first hand, search the net for "Yidaki Dhawu" and check out this website that she is translating!

    With respect

    GoeG
