  • I think Sadowsky basses are gorgeous looking and sound amazing i.e for pickstyle or especcially finger style but when it comes to slapping i'd leave that to Fender and Musicman personally...

  • @Scartman691 persoanlly i find that fender cant give u the highs u need when u slap in concert. look up some juraj griglak's stuff. he uses sadowsky preamp or 3 pedals to make up for sadowsky's stuff. cheers dude :)

  • Roger Sadowsky makes the best basses..PERIOD! I have to completely disagree with Area5107 who says they are ridiculously overpriced. I have a Sadowsky NYC UltraVintage Jazz Bass in Olympic white with a gorgeous brazilian rosewood fretboard that I recently had built for me and it is worth it's weight in gold!!! Hands down the BEST bass I have ever owned. Before I ordered my Sadowsky, I had a Fender Custom Shop '64 NOS jazz bass and my Sadowsky NYC just CRUSHED it in every way imaginable!

  • Sorry but cannot agree with the "ridiculously overpriced" comment - I own a Sadowsky Vintage 5 and quality does cost, and hand made instruments have hundreds of hours dedicated to them thus justifying what I feel is a reasonable and fair price for such workmanship. The world needs visionaries like Roger Sadowsky. My bass sounds nothing like the clips bass though - obviously very dead lifeless strings on there - like a dirty needle on a great turntable.

  • Sadowskys are awesome basses no doubt, but ridiculously over priced.

  • Sadowsky's work is really beautiful! Despite the

fact that he and many other custom bass makers

    use the Fender patterns.Unfortunately,the prices

are way too high for most people. That's why I own

a Carvin BK4 Bass with a Brazilian Rosewood

Top ($400).A Sadowsky would cost ($5,000+)!

  • That bass sounds dull... If anyone is gonna make a slap demo, please have fairly new strings...

  • Don´get me wrong i respect Roger Sadowsky totally, light resonant wood is the way to go if you wanna have a instrument that is dynamic and responsive.

  • It sounds like really bad old dead strings !

  • The player in this clip is OUTSTANDING, but I like the tone of other Sadowsky basses much more, like the Juraj Griglak Bass solo clip on their website. That's the tone that comes to mind most often when you talk about Sadowsky basses.

    Cool clip though, Roger.
