what I do if I'm layering sounds is record them and save the result, meaning that I have one file which is a combination of sounds. So it takes up less space on the Redrum. This is also useful if you record drums with effects applied, since you can import the result without need of FX.

@BEANOSBEATZBERLIN Disable the little knob above run that sais "Enable Pattern Section". That would stop the double sound, because if u press play  (when enabled) the pattern in redrum will play plus the edited version of it in your sequencer.

yes its possible , I get similar a justice kind of snare sound on ableton by using impulse with sampled snaredrums from classic roland drum machines like the tr-707,tr-505, and tr-626 with a bit of saturation from the impulse, you can try that :)

right.... you lay the sound to track that you want to play in reverse , then go to file "export loop as audio file" then open the loop with the NN-XT sampler, then go to the knob that say "play mode" and move it all the way round till it says BW. then it will play in reverse :)
